With the closure of the 99 cents store on Valley View, Katella has blessed me with the one stop shop on Katella; Daiso & Dollar Tree being a mere block away from one another Daiso is great for gift bags, stationary, weirdly translated stationary, Disney licensed merch, import snacks, the latest Hi-Chew flavors, etc. They have a great selection of kraft paper items; post-its, bags, washi tape, etc. It looks very organic DIY without the Paper Source prices. Credit card or cash accepted. You have to spend at least $50 to use a $100 bill. They used to have a sign that said no bills over $20 accepted. Cashier was nice, no one else was around in the store (5pm Tuesday) but I didn't need assistance. read more

This Daiso is huge with labeled aisles and easy parking. I think the selection of mugs, plates and kitchenware has been better in the past. The pricing can be confusing as now items are more than $1.75 and there's a lot of writing on the packages. Tip: if you don't see a pink circle with a symbol, the item is $1.75. I didn't get much on this trip but they do have a good hair accessories and toy/plushies section. You'll find unnecessary but cute Sanrio and Disney items like sealable bags and chocolate molds. Lots of goodies in the snack section. I LOVE Chocorooms (chocolate topped cookies mushrooms) but a little bag is expensive and high in calories so I only buy them to treat myself. I'm reviewing because I saw a sign they have out front saying they are disability compliant and "fixed everything." My ESA dogs didn't get bothered in here but there is a scam that's been going on for years with trial lawyers suing small businesses for random noncompliance to disability access. Even just one tiny thing and they'll file a lawsuit. It happened to my friend and I later learned it's a thing in LA,which makes sense because lots of scum people live here. Putting low-income business owners out of business because they can't afford lawyers is downright evil. Daiso may not be small but they're not making bank on their prices, and this spot has a huge selection that I would've given five stars anyway. 11/11/22 My goal was to get a gift card at Daiso....guess what? They don't sell gift cards! My niece LOVES this place. It's dangerous that she can walk here (about 5 minutes away). My brother says (her dad) she'd like to work for Daiso when she becomes of age. She says she could buy all the stuff she'd need when she dorms-that's in less than 4 yrs lol. First of all this store is so clean and inviting. I was greeted at the door and with a smile even behind the mask. I have never been here before so I went through every single aisle. I found aisle earrings for a gift. I also bought myself some. I found a little show box for my lego min figs I'm going to paint up and decorate. There was a perfect size box for my new art supplies, and most favorite erasers to use while drawing. And I bought a pack of two word card notes. I love to have those on my purse for quotes and thoughts to carry with me. This store is fantastic. I'll be back the next time I'm through town. There were seemingly endless well-organized aisles of household goods, school and office supplies, beauty and healthcare items, hair accessories, snacks, dishware, children's toys, socks, scarves, beanies, holiday items, and more! I found the black q-tips that my cousin wanted! I was looking for chestnuts for my Community Manager, Emi, but they were sold out! I will go to another Daiso location and hopefully, chestnuts will be there! If I were in the area again, I would return for more cute gifts for friends and family back home (even though we recently got a Daiso in Pearl City because the wait to get in is long and the items are in high demand)! This location, in comparison to the others, is very nice! Very clean, organized, and I don't think I've gone a single time without someone working on restocking. It's fairly large too, which is nice. If your looking for something to do something that you didnt know existed, it lays here along with 1000s of other things. Worst service ever; shopping for an hour then they say "cash only read the tiny sign at the front of the door" says "cash only". This Daiso isn't always cash only just today. Wasting my whole Sunday in here, as a mom I don't get the luxury of shopping because my kid has to have a baby sitter for the pandemic, you can't bring your kids here, there's no bathrooms here, there's long lines here, you have to hold your pee and wear a mask for an hour then hear CASH ONLY on the intercom!?What a joke. This is the cutest most wide ranged budget store to come across. I come from a small city that doesn't offer stores with this capacity. You can literally find everything from home ceramic plates,cups, Tupperware to house plungers, trash cans, stuff for your car, your pets, some clothing/shoes items, and even beauty and make up products. My favorite part has to be the crafting sections that has stationary and stickers and so fourth which is next to the birthday party section with useful items as well as a toy selection of nick hacks for kids to play with. My boyfriend purchased the AA batteries and they are shorter than a typical AA battery so they don't work when you place them in a device. Located in a strip mall off Knott and Katella, across the parking lot of Del Taco is one of the newest Daiso Japan to open in the OC. Shoe City moved next door to the once Pet City, and Daiso took over their space. Its a decent size Daiso (much larger than the Artesia location) but not as large as the Irvine or Gardena location, which used to be supermarkets. One thing that Stephen and I noticed is each Daiso is slightly different. The Gardena location, for example have more magnetic items (ie: things to stick on your fridge), where this location had hardly any. Even snack items were different. This location had a decent selection, but not as large as the Torrance location. But, one thing they do have in common is 90% of the store is only $1.50.
