Add Ikea + 99 cent store + cute Japanese style = the genius of Daiso. It's technically not a dollar store, most items are under $1.50, unless marked up to around $3. However, they have everything from glass containers (the good kind) to beach chairs to bluetooth headsets to dermatologist instruments. I was beyond amazed when I walked in the Koreatown location last week.....next time I move, I plan on buying all these dishes, beach chairs, and home accessories...instead of buying the monotonous and boring style from Ikea. Daiso sells everything made super cheap in Asia, but instead of marking it up 100%, they keep the prices similar to how much the items cost to make. Just go visit and try not to get turned on! P.S. Everything is $1.50! How do I manage to spend almost $40 everytime I'm here? I love the makeup area. I find nail goodies here that I haven't seen anywhere else. The place is clean, obviously the value is great. The items are over the top adorable. The aisles are small, I don't recommend bringing int strollers if you have one. The only thing that bugged me was the restocking during heavy traffic hours. I felt uncomfortable hovering over an employee just to see what was available. This place is just crazy! We went in here randomly and didn't know what we would expect. Everything unless marked otherwise was only $1.50! What a deal! It had everything and anything. I would compare this to a Family Dollar but with things from Japan. You could find great souvenirs and gifts. I bought a couple of the aloe face masks and my brother and sister bought some Pocky snacks. The face masks we tried that night and it worked really well. You can't beat $1.50! If you follow my reviews, you'll know that I just discovered Daiso Japan last month and immediately fell in love with this wonderful pink store chain. I'm determined to go to all of them hahahahaha! (I'm only half kidding o.O) So how could I not visit the Koreatown Daiso after I found out that it exists?! I've been to the Madang Plaza before but it was a couple years ago--man this place has changed! They have so many new stores now... INCLUDING THIS DAISO! Despite the address being Western, the entrance to the parking garage is actually on S Manhatten Place. You pull in, get a ticket, and then find a spot. Daiso is on the ground floor, very easy to find, and decently big. Definitely smaller than the Gardena and Torrance ones, but I still found stuff to buy :P Like everyone has mentioned, all items here are $1.50 unless otherwise specified. And they're pretty good quality so you're getting things at a really good deal! I think Christina C. and I spent almost an hour browsing the entire store... it may be smaller than the other Daiso stores I've been to, but they still have a crazy amount of inventory! YAY! Daiso is in Los Angeles and walking distance from my place! I discovered this store up in the Bay Area and would buy a bunch of things whether I needed them or not. Yes, most items are $1.50 and pretty decent quality for the price. When I heard they they were coming to the Madang Plaza, I started my shopping list. It's a long list, OK? No, but really, Daiso has a lot of common household items and some really interesting ones as well. I love their kitchenware things and paper goods. Store is really well stocked. I think the down side is that the aisles are pretty narrow. A stroller or wheelchair would not have any room to move easily. Other than that, WELCOME TO KOREATOWN DAISO!!! OMG! This is like 99 Cents store of Asian version filled with cuteness. Most of the stuff are below $2. I usually purchase my four-color pens and stationary. I've gotten some small baking dishes and they are great. Service is non-existent as I can't recall a staff being on the floor, but always behind the encounter. The line can be long at times, but they move efficiently. I've had my share of friendly cashiers here, while encountering those who may have been suffering from constipation. Upon their grand opening, I was SUPERRR excited that one had opened near me. There were so many goodies and all for $1.50 But after using daiso items for awhile now, I see that it's just a glorified .99 cent store, but pricier. Not just that, but the aisles are narrow and I find the whole store to be hard to maneuver through. The return policy also sucks--no returns (prob cuz they know that after you buy and open, you'll prob want to return). And they don't even give you free bags anymore . I also want to throw in that one time an employee (girl) was very rude to me. I can't remember EXACTLY what happened as it was awhile ago, but I do remember going thru the store to shuffle a few things around a bit (oops!). So I'm thinking she must have been EXCEPTIONALLY rude for me to have done that . However, I admit that I do come here to buy gift bags, but most of the time they are out of stock anyways. read more

I love Daiso. So much random stuff that I don't need but it's all so cheap so why not buy it? They have kitchen ware and a lot of organizing items, so you can definitely Marie Kondo your life. I will say that each Daiso location will vary on the amount of stock they have so best to go to a bigger Daiso verses the smaller locations! read more

This is the cute, Japanese version of your typical 99 cent store or Dollar Tree, except it is much better because of the higher quality to price ratio of the items you get here. I enjoy coming here for the wide selection of Japanese snacks on hand (think matcha flavored everything and almost every imaginable flavor of Pocky). Also, I think this place is pretty good to pick up items for DIY crafts such as gift wrapping or home decoration projects -- I recently threw a holiday party and managed to get all of my Christmas themed decorations from here. It is literally the Dollar store of all Japanese paraphernalia trinket stores! It's definitely worth the experience to come here and just look around. But if you're like me, you'll end up buying a bunch of stuff that you'll know you can use or adore, depending on what you buy ;) . Everything here is priced mostly at $1.50 except when priced differently (sometimes between $4.00 and up) . My wife was bewildered and didn't believe everything was $1.50!!! I don't want to give them a star but unfortunately, that's the minimum. All the aisles have $1.50 signs but beware, there are items mixed in these aisles and priced more than $1.50. They sell "good for one day items." I bought a battery-operated lint remover. After i opened it to put the batteries, it fell apart. I heard of "one-day toys and gadgets" but this one didn't even last a minute. It was a total rip off. Worse, you can't get a refund because they have a NO RETURN-NO EXCHANGE policy. They are the only store that i know that have such a ridiculous policy considering that they sell items that break easily. They say Daiso-Japan but 99% of the items are MADE IN CHINA. Just as others have said, it pretty much is a Japanese version of a discount store, but man Japan makes some wayyyy better quality and cuter items than the US stores. I've only bought dog collars from this Daiso, and I have to say, they are some pretty amazing dog collars. The collars are stitched with reflective threads, and there is no small defects or flaws with the collar itself (I was expecting some loose threads or poor cuts because it is a discount store, so I was pretty amazed). Lots of cute trinkets that I'm sure you can use as a stocking stuffer, so I can see this place becoming packed during the holiday seasons. Good bang for your buck, and I could care less for the long lines. I feel so wealthy here because every hour I work can buy me so many things!!! read more

It's a nice little store tucked away in a super center. This place has validated parking but during heavy traffic it's hard to find one. I saw people circling the 7 floor parking lot trying to find a parking to no avail. This store features a minimized version of bigger Daiso chain stores. I normally head into the tool section to look at the tool section and it's very minimal. Would have given it a three base solely on availability of items, but they actually have a lot of neat stuff in this place still. read more

I am huge fan of Daiso. But this particular store needs to step up their game big time. Seemed like it was very lean on inventory and didn't have near the selection of cool nick-nacks as the one does in Little Tokyo Mall. Plus the people that worked in the store were like zombies. Very unwelcoming. I just wanted to get out of there as fast as possible. Sucks because this one is very convenient to get to.. but really disappointing...I won't go out of my way to go to this one unless they get more of the usual Daiso inventory in. read more

Love this store! $1.50 goodies throughout the store! One of my favorite things about this store is that it contains some of the most random things that you would never even think of, but after finding the product, you think to yourself, "hey, that's a good idea!" And of course the best part is that the stuff is pretty cheap. If the item is more than $1.50, it will be listed on the product. This Daiso is smaller than the ones I've been to in the past. You can find anything from Japanese candy to fake eyelash to plates and bowls to picture frames to body wash. Anything you need they have. Their items are cute and very asian but quality isn't great. But then again what do you expect for $1.50. Haha its a good place to buy cute random stuff and even decorations for baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays, etc. Lots of organizing objects. I heard of this place because of a few beauty products recommended from YouTube/blog reviews. I decided to check out this so called "dollar store" since I can go nuts at the 99 cent store. This store has a different feel as it's very bright, clean and organized, containing so many neat items you want, but actually don't need. The beauty isle had lots of things to look at, I wanted almost all the most ordinary things like kitchen utensils, because they were cute. *sigh* I did find great items that I will use and some that were such a bargain! I took a star off because the items I specifically went in for was either sold out/recalled, or not at that location. Still walked out happy with my purchase and will definitely go back. Great place to get cheap thrills but everything is so cute the $1.50 adds up to over $20 but under $50 each trip. Some household items are a great deal. Some items like my TINY bathroom rug are useless since it's far too tiny and light and moves around due to lack of weight. Chocorooms are like a cheaper Kinokonoyama made by Meiji and tastes just like Kinokonoyama. When buying snacks, make sure it's Made In Japan. A lot of their products are Made In China (or Taiwan) for Daiso. NOT the same as Made In Japan. I bought two trash cans I didn't need the other day just because they were so cute. read more

I grew up in the Rowland Heights area and been to the Daiso there. This Daiso is not as big or as organized as that one. Though I think they have more or less of the same stuff with minor variation, you feel sort of cramped in this one. However, I love where this place is located. I think it's the nicest most elegant looking part of Korea town there is. It is surrounded by some coffee places and nice restaurants. I like this place because you can grab a good dinner, get some good coffee and then buy the little Japanese knickknacks you need too enjoy life. I always make a pit stop here for some snacks for the week as well. Also, there are always a lot of pretty girls shopping at Daisos; it must be the cute little things here. read more
