I left this store after spending about 1.5 hours and $20!!! Really cute things here all for really cheap. Plus, 2 hour validated parking. A lot of decent quality things for cheap (plates/bowls/glasses/mugs/trash cans/giftwrap/EVERYTHING). This is like a 99 cent store on steriods! As such I think mostly everything in here is $1.50. I liked it because I was able to buy some gifts for the boys without breaking the bank. It was nice wandering the aisles and picking up things to examine (like the horse fat lotion). If you don't want to pay for the bag charge (I think its 10 cents) then be sure to bring your own. I first discovered Daiso during my trip to Seoul a few years back. I fell in L.O.V.E! I went back to Seoul this year and Daiso was definitely on my list to visit, but when the original location disappeared I was disheartened and came back very disappointed. Fast forward to a few weeks later. I was strolling through Madang when a magical sign appeared saying that Daiso will be coming soon!!! *Ding ding ding* It was my dream come true! Ever since it opened, I visited the store at least 100 times for various reasons and needs. Unlike the Daiso's in USA, the ones in Korea are not a set price. They range for as little as 500 won up to 10,000won+. I like that everything is a set price of $1.50 minus a few items that have special price tags. With that said, I didn't find a lot of the items I liked in Korea at this location due to price but that's fine with me! Negative: -I end up buying a lot of stuff I don't need, but I still justify the buy since it's only "$1.50." I love Daiso and all the cute, inexpensive things they offer. Whenever I go to one, I always leave with way more than I meant to shop for but can still stay under budget. I knocked off stars for this Daiso because the customer service "skills" of the employees in this particular store are desperately lacking. When I've asked for help finding something that I know Daiso carries but can't presently find they only say,"I don't know" and then walk away. Today we came in at 8:20. Their posted closing time is 9:00. At 8:30, they began reminding customers of their closing time EVERY 5 MINUTES to encourage everyone to wrap it up. At 8:45 they shut off most of the lights and turned off the music. Seriously? Every 5 minutes? I found that so obnoxious and excessive. Not only was it so tacky, but it demonstrated how little they care to provide any sort of customer service and how little they appreciate anyone's business. I worked customer service in the past too and I get that you want to leave ASAP, but that was too much. Other larger retail stores only announce one 15 minute warning, and they certainly don't shut off the lights and music until the store is actually closed. read more

Loved this store, so much to see and most only cost $1.50. The only downside is that the aisle are very narrow. It's fun to look around but of course you shouldn't expect high quality items. I purchased a charcoal peel-off mask that really worked well for the price. I hope to be back soon with more time. before the location in tokyo town opened up, this was my go to/ closest daiso. This location is not the best.. the parking structure full of horrible drivers(if your lucky to finally find a parking spot). The isles are usually packed but if not, they are very small to begin with. However, I have always had pleasant experiences with the employees and I have been here many times. 1 hr validation with purchase.. I believe the daily max they charge in the parking structure is 12$ I have never had to pay the attendant but then again I have never stayed here longer than 2-3 hours. ps. 2 hour validations given at the h mart now read more

WAY too many people when I was there. The aisles are a bit cramped, so be careful not to knock things down with your basket, and of course you're going to have a basket because everything is so cheap! Basically everything in the store is $1.50. There are a few exceptions, which will have a sticker of a price (e.g. $3.00). So, if there is no sticker with a price on it, its only $1.50!! The highest price I saw was $6.00 for some wig or something, lol still pretty cheap. They validate parking for 2 hours, and I can totally believe people can stay there for 2 hours :p and there's a $10 minimum for credit card transactions, but don't worry, you'll be spending more that $10 on stuff you probably dont need. I'm pretty sure they just opened, which would explain why there was so many people there. Its very clean, and they have a lot of useful stuff like school supplies or household items. I absolutely looove this store! You can find practically anything for anyone in here! Tons of cutesy types of products you won't see anywhere else, like animal shaped sushi molds or Mini guitar shaped spatula's. and palm sized notebooks! I love Daiso, but the reason this one in KTown just gets 3 stars is because of a short manager who has a very bad attitude and doesn't fit in with the typical great, friendly service you will usually find at Daiso stores elsewhere in the LA area. One specific example was when we were in line and she was writing something and just ignoring everyone waiting in line--she didn't look up once. She should have had another staff member at the register and be doing whatever she was doing elsewhere, or look up and take care of customers. This would never happen in Japan. Everything in this store is cute! I always tell myself to get just few things and always end up buying a lot more (mostly stuff that I don't even need! That's how irresistible the stuffs here are!) My husband and I wanted to buy some cheap souvenirs and decided to come here. Unless marked otherwise, everything was $1.50. The interior was very pretty and clean. I fell in love with this place until...the one in Little Tokyo opened, this is one is nice if i'm in the neighborhood my problem though is that the aisle's are really narrow so you're always dropping stuff since so many people go in a aisle at once. I was greeted at the door and they helped me with all of my questions! I was confused about certain items because they were in Kanji and they helped and explained how to use it and it made me feel comfortable almost at home lol :) not everything is a dollar BUT! Everything is at least under $5 which is awesome because they had so many items without breaking the bank! I also loved how they had alittle bit of everything! Not many Japanese stores have Ramune so I was very exited when I saw all of the flavors and sizes that they had! I even got a few flavors that I had never had before so that was very exiting and I ended up loving them! Japanese $1.50+ store. Glorified $0.99 Asian store. I would call it that. Since I am an Asian (Korean American to be specific), Daiso is not particularly an interesting store. You could find better affordable cuties and toys around when I was back in my home country. Anyway, back to the review, the goods and materials are just like the ones in $0.99 store nearby in just Japanese style. You will be surprised that they are pretty useful and last longer than you expect. There are many house products, toys, snacks, etc, and you could find lots of interesting stuffs if you have never been in any Daiso stores. Parking is usually horrible since there are tons of stores and a movie theater in a same shopping mall. You better get a street parking which is not also readily available as well. If you are looking for an Asian cutie goods, look nowhere but here. read more

Daiso is sooo awesome! everythng here is $1.50 unless noted otherwise. There used to be minimum of $10 if you're using a credit or debit card but that has recently been revoked. Even though its so easy to spend more than $10! there is a parking garage, if you want to park valet its off of western and regular parking is in the back off of Manhattan St and its FREE for the first 2 hours :) just make sure to validate at the cashier. read more

Daiso is when you can find good style and decent quality but in a dirt-cheap price, just because is Japanese owned isn't really made in Japan. Majority of the item is Made in China is the reason why is so cheap. This is about the same size as most other Daiso, it is hard to come out without buying anything. There has always seem something I need in there. Normally I satisfied with their stuff except their sunglasses and ear buds are poorly made. I needed to buy the tape and marker at this location. Employee hold the door and stopped me enter into the store during their open hour(until 9pm). I was at 8:53 and I could grab what I want in one minute. When I saw in from out of the door, there was 1~2 customer in a line for paying and 2~3 were walked around. I love Daiso. They have so many different items. I went to this location to grab my favorite Rose Tea, since I was visiting from out of town. I also got a few makeup items (I forgot my face wash and grabbed their Charcoal Face wash, which is amazing!) As well a a few other toiletry odds and ends. Most items are in the $1.50-$3.00 range, so it is super easy to get what you need and get out fast! I love this place! It is like a Japanese version of the dollar store, but better due to higher quality items. Those familiar with the 100 yen shops in Japan know exactly what I'm talking about. There are a variety of products ranging from household goods, to beauty/hygiene items, stationary, dishes, cookware, snacks, and more. Everything is $1.50 or less. The cookware/dishes are quite durable and last a while. We still have tongs, spatulas, beer glasses, and more that we bought a few years back. And of course many of the items have a touch of that Japanese cuteness that they're famous for. A cool place to check out at least once, and don't be afraid to go crazy, as it only $1.50....until you have a full basket. read more

This small place has a lot of good stuff for the house. Most things are only $1.50. Every time I'm in this mall, I have to stop by. I usually get the cotton pads, single use tea bag, small tongs for salad, laundry bags, sponges, cute dishes, house slippers, etc. I tried couple of car freshners and those were not so great. read more

I love this place! Reminds me so much of the 100¥ shop! I recently went to the one in Woodland Hills for the first time and after seeing other locations, from the pictures people left this one looked bigger and it is!!! This place is so awesome I can't express my excitement about it! Reminds me of being back in Japan! This is your typical Daiso, it has all the things that you would expect a store like Daiso to have. The reason why I gave it 4 stars is because once you purchase your items, there is a store policy that no refunds or exchanges are allowed. MAKE SURE that the cashier who is taking your order made the correct order. The cashier who took my items accidentally added an extra item and I told her about it after I looked over my receipt and she denied me a refund because of store policy, so I just took the only option of taking an extra item. I REPEAT, make sure the cashier is scanning the right number of items and check to see if the price matches what you got because of their policy. read more
