Something that everyone has to admit is that the Japanese are a creative bunch. Whether it's technology, lifestyle, entertainment, or culture, the things they create are so awesome. Which is why Daiso has always been my alternative to going to a discount store. At Daiso, everything is $1.50 except for a few things that are selectively marked anywhere from $2 to $5. But, overall, everything is very affordable. They are like a 99 cent store, but a little bit more cuter/prettier and somewhat higher quality. Also, there are a few items that you can get here that you may not find as easily anywhere else. For example, chair socks! Tired of having scratches all over your wooden floor? Or having one leg of your chair be lower than another because your child keeps scraping/dragging the chair over the floor? Tired of hearing that awful screeching noise as your husband drags the chair across the floor after a long day's work? Grab this pack of 4 socks for the chair! Not only is it useful to keep your home beautiful, it can be an interesting conversation piece as your friends wonder why you're keeping your chair legs warm! Or, how about awesome drain covers to prevent your wife's hair from clogging up the drain on a monthly basis? Not only can you get it in a variety of colors, but they're disposable to help prevent grabbing into the nastiness of the pipes to grab the clump of hair! Besides, most people do go to the 99 cent store or Dollar Store. But, I bet you that everything in Daiso will be in a different style than any of the bargain stores, and they're pretty/cute, to boot! Only thing I don't like is that it's located in a small shopping center. Parking isn't too bad, but a lot of people are constantly driving in and out of this shopping center, and people park or leave their spaces without watching what they're doing. A lot of neat Japanese stuff for $1.50. No exchange or return so keep that in mind. This location is new only open a few months and it's very nice and bright inside. You can find a lot of decent and affordable items at $1.50. I did see a Japanese doll for $10. So I guess a few of the items are different price but most of everything here is $1.50. CASHIERS: they like to chit chat with each other instead of providing that cashier service with a smile or a "hello". Daiso is rendering other discount stores obsolete on my shopping schedule. Most everything here is $1.50, and bigger items end up being around $3 - $10. A great value, as the product quality is miles above Dollar Tree or The 99 Cent store. // Directions // This Daiso location is located in northeast plaza at the cross streets of Knott Ave and Katella Ave, behind the Flame Broiler, in the same plaza as Rubios, Del Taco, and Shoe City. The private parking lot is free and adequately large, and if you can't find parking there, there is plenty of space in nearby residential streets or at any of the parking lots across the street. The best way to enter is turning in from Katella going west, or from Knott going north. Keep in mind there are no u-turns at the light allowed on Knott going south. I was there at the grand opening and the store treated its customers well with entertainment and gifts. The staff was friendly. The store was bright and clean. The sheer amount and variety of items is remarkably ample. You can stock your entire kitchen here and find a bunch of random, useful household supplies too. Japanese ceramic, Japanese snacks and drinks, umbrellas, Halloween costumes, arts and crafts supplies, Asian makeup, gifts for smokers, clear umbrellas, cheap school supplies, you name it. This store chain is great. But this location is the best I've visited so far. I've been to the location in Monterey Park and Ontario at the Mills. The Mills location is super small. Last night I busted a u turn just to browse. I usually buy my eyelashes at Dayso. This particular location was lacking options. I didn't have time to look through the entire store because they were closing but I did see something new here that was very interesting: Disposable men's and women's underwear and also a portable toilet bag for when you gotta go - on the go. read more

This Daisy is very similar to the other Daisy's a lot cool little toys and things for a $1.50 and up. The kids like getting treats here every time. You do have to be careful about buying things with batteries or electronic stuff, because they have an all sales final policy, so no returns, if something beaks or is defective. Overall, very cool stuff for pretty good prices. read more

Okay so there are many reviews for many Daiso locations. Here is my opinion. Pros: - cute stuff at $1.50 - School supplies & Office supplies (limited) - They always change their products (cause I dont go very often in a month, so it depends on what month you are in or whatever holiday is coming up, they follow with that time period) - Cosmetics, hair accessoreis, belts, etc - Kitchin gadgets, kitchen utilities - snacks - clean environment and organized - parking around here is mostly empty, so you can always find a spot to park - Great place to shop for gifts Cons: - Some stuff aren't good quality - Some items are seasonal so they wont be there for long - aisles are somewhat cramp - if you use a credit card there is a $10 or $15 limit you must exceed. Hope this helps. I usually shop for notebooks, accessories, and so on. Just a warning on the kitchen pots they sell, it won't last a year. had to buy it 3 times and gave up on buying it the 4th time and just went buying for a better quality pot. read more

It's ridiculous how Daiso is popping up everywhere--I love it! I used to frequent the Anaheim location all the time but then they opened one in Buena Park and NOW there's one in Stanton? Yay! This Daiso is located on the corner of Katella Ave. and Knott Ave. in the small plaza where Del Taco and Shoe City sits. I've only gone here once but was immediately impressed by the size. Overall, it's more spacious than the Anaheim, Cerritos and possibly bigger than the Buena Park stores. Because of its recent opening I happened to find many items that I couldn't get anywhere else. The shelves still looked pristine and fully stocked. Felt like a kid in a candy store. The only disadvantage is the small parking lot but other than that, I still love Daiso and will continue to be one of their loyal customers. read more

Daiso, I'll be harsh and say this is basically a store that stocks mostly cheap Chinese products. Not syaing Chinese products are no good, but a Japanese store with image of Japan, selling mostly cheap Chinese stuff. It's 100 yen store in Japan, with yen dropping its value, do you want to lower your price too?!.. Maybe not, because you have to ship them over here. I'd give you that much.. One can walk around the stores and be amazed so many items that one probably have never seen before in Target or Walmart. BUT.........Check it out closely. Most of the stuff are interesting but nevertheless, just junks!! You can buy them, take them home because they look interesting, but not really useful. So do not be an impulsive buyer when you come here. Buy only what you really need, if you can do that, then these Daiso stores would serve their purposes.. Love Daiso but not the workers. I know that employees don't get paid enough to care and you don't need an IQ of over 60 to be a cashier but this is ridiculous. Our cashier Alysha shoved everything into the bag we bought, bending and folding paper decorative and gift items to try to cram everything in. I know everything is cheap, but that doesn't mean I don't care if you destroy it before I even pay for it. Biyotch, who wants folds and creases in brand new decorations and/or stationery? We're not talking about something like tissue paper that gets crumpled up to be used. I can't put up or give as a gift something that looks all used. Of all the Daiso locations, why does the one closest to me have to be the worst? Let's start with parking: It's terrible. To make it worse, the parking spaces are small. Watch out for major door dings. The store: Smaller in size compared to other locations. Don't let the length of the store fool you because it's rather narrow. The product selection here is not that great. The store manager told me that each store has a different inventory of products. So if you saw something at the Buena Park location, chances are it will not be in stock here at Stanton. Looking forward to future Daiso store openings in the OC. I just hope they plan their store locations wisely next time. read more

I went to the Grand Opening today and the line was 250+ strong by 945am but, I went straight to the register. This is a clean new Daiso in the place where Shoe City used to be and Shoe City moved to where the Pet City was. I think they will do well at this location. As expected this store is impeccably clean and stylized just like every Daiso location I've been to. The always has a near full stock of everything which makes finding things you need in bulk easy. They also have a little section with snacks and Japanese foods that you can't find in just any grocery store. This store is always kept clean and well stocked. Overall, I really like this store. Then she left me there waiting in line untill she was finished looking for something while she placed the call on hold. I am a sucker for all things japan. Call me a weab or whatever but japanese merch is(in my opinion) vastly superior to other countries. They are an innovative people and a lot of their products are designed for people like me who are *coughs size challenged. For a 21 year old male who is only 5'6 I am constantly finding that things are just not made to fit me or I am suppose to be using comfortably. This is actually my second Daiso I've been to, the first being the one located in Irvine. And that Daiso in the Irvine location was HUGE! Compared to that store, this location is very small, but it's closer to home and has a lot of my crafting essentials. Because it is a smaller store, it does not have as wide a selection as the Irvine location, but it still has a decent array. I've been to this Daiso a total of 5-6 times and will probably go again sometime soon within this month. I love this store! It is a crafter's paradise for cheap but good quality supplies for my DIY projects that are typically very expensive at Michael's of Hobby Lobby. Also it is nice that I can pick up crafting supplies for cheap here rather than ordering the same type of thing on ebay from Hong Kong and having to wait 3 weeks to ship to me. Funnily enough, I've seen Daiso products sell on Ebay for jacked up prices LOL Things I've bought so far: cute sticky notes, 4 in 1 pens, felt, needle felting wool, felting needles, mini wooden blocks (which I re-purposed to use as mounts for my hand carved stamps), mini notebooks, large memo paper, cute letter sets, fuzzy winter socks (for DIY sock plushies), measuring tape, washi tape, cute mugs (I bought 4!), ribbons, sewing needles, nail polish, facial oil blot paper, paint brushes, 2 crafting cutting boards, and the list goes on! I've probably spent on average over $30 each visit and I'm constantly finding more things I want to buy! The staff is very polite and I see them constantly restocking (which is great since I never want to fear my supplies running low!) The shop is always very clean as well. Parking lot is small, but thankfully the rest of the strip mall seems pretty dead because I've always found plenty of parking every time I've been in. I usually like to visit other Daiso stores, but this one has unfriendly employees. Sure, it looks clean and stocked on the outside, but I didn't ask for attitude--not what I wanted to shop for. If your chip on the card doesn't read to make a payment, you can't slide it or else the cashier will be so kind to tell you with such kindness, "It doesn't override." The cashier's attitude changed as soon as I couldn't use this card to pay. I take back my comment about this Daiso being well-stocked. Ever since this Daiso place opened, it made traveling to a farther location such as Mitsuwa in Costa Mesa much less of a hassle to get to. They gave a great variety of random necessities that one would need. And many delicious snacks and drinks! There is a card minimum purchase i believe and there are no refunds. The employees are very friendly and helpful. Parking has never been an issue yet because the complex isn't as busy. I enjoy going here after eating around nearby such as Gomen for some cheap desserts. Or to buy useful kitchen gadgets for cheap! read more
