I really enjoyed the Thai food at Daisuki! Khao soi is something I struggle to find at most restaurants, so I was happy to see they had it on the menu! It was a delicious coconut based curry over egg noodles. It was my first time in, and the service and atmosphere was great for a nice lunch. We saw they had many other lunch deals that looked like a good value but had my heart set on the khao soi. Super solid sushi with great service. The decor is cute, friendly, even a touch of whimsical. I LOVE the veggie tempura. Subtlety seasoned tempura with an excellent crunch. Lovely variety of sweet potato, broccoli, and onion. The only issue I have had each time? It has such a fragrant smell when you first walk in. Like, it takes me aback every time! I eventually adjust to it, but I think switching up the cleaning product to a more subtle scent might help a bunch! read more

Daisuki is so freaking good. Every time I come here ai kick myself for not eating here more. Their move from Logan Street was well timed. Service was great and the food is delicious. The sushi chef does a great job crafting their rolls and the cook in the back dished out this amazing curry katsu dish which i absolutely smashed. It's a nice little spot and deserves your patronage. Finally got to come in! I had them on my list since they were at Logan street but had never gotten the chance to try the food. They're Thai owned, so they have Thai food along with sushi. It's a small restaurant. Used to be Stout (RIP). But they seem to get a lot of takeout orders. We got seated right away. Shared some takoyaki to start! Not bad. Not steaming hot like they sometimes are. Loved it! It had a bit of some chunky pieces but not bad. I also got Sapporo. They gave me a chilled glass for it. Perfection! I got the Hawaiian crunch roll while my friends got khao soi, the yum yum roll, and the ginger salad. Delicious! Great flavors too. Prices are cheaper than other sushi spots so that was nice. And the khao soi was fantastic! It was a generous portion too. I'd come back again. I want to try other sushi and Thai dishes! Staff was nice. Only one server for the whole place but they didn't get all that busy with customers dining in. Parking around here is parallel. Ventured here with one other adult and two small children. The hostess and server barely spoke English and did not understand what we were saying, making it difficult to complete an order or anything else. The other adult ordered Pad Thai and the dish smelled musty and was honestly a horrible smell. Then they tasted it and it tasted old. I told the server to take it and we didn't want it and wanted something else, and they said these were their ingredients and they cannot give us anything else. So we had to pay $11.00 for a meal that had three small bites taken out of it (one adult and two children sampled it, and all three said it tasted like something was old and musty). I have never heard of a restaurant not even trying to correct an order. Needless to say, we will not be back! read more

The inside of the restaurant was like a tiki bar kinda. Not bad, just not what I expected. The gyoza dumplings were good, but a tiny bit saltier than I like. Stopped in for some lunch with a friend! The woman behind the counter was so nice & helpful, answered any questions we had! Place was small but with a cozy type feel to it. It seemed tidy & clean so far as I could tell! We ordered just a few appetizers to share. Every single one was melt in your mouth worthy! The Salmon Tataki tasted so fresh & clean, perfect as a palette cleanser! Crab Rangoon was piping hot & we loved that we could actually taste that it was crab! This literally melted like butter on my tongue, so smooth & creamy! Not pictured is the Shumai (Deep fried shrimp dumplings) They were so dainty, but pop one of these in your mouth & you're ready to put a few more orders in! Sake flight.. Oh this Sake flight was a roller coaster! & pardon, I don't know a ton about Sake. I cannot remember the names of each but One was peach, it was more mellow than I expected which was good in my opinion. My partner and I ordered the veggie tempura, fried oysters, escolar and hotate nigiri, sexy hamachi roll, VIP tuna roll, a spicy yellowtail roll, and a large sake. The sexy hamachi was our favorite. I wasn't sure about the carrots in the roll, but it was delicious. The other rolls weren't very flavorful, but they were fine. I'm so glad that Daisuki owners opened up this outlet on Bardstown Rd! I've always liked their Logan SM location, but I always wished for more...now my wish has been answered with this sit-down version. This space is small enough to feel intimate but not crowded. Their menu has been broadened to include probably 50% more items: sushi, Thai, hibachi, and bento boxes. They now even have a fermented tea leaf salad (Burmese?)! It is strong w tea leaf flavor, crunchy w fried fava beans, tempered with tomatoes and cabbage. It can be made very spicy or not. My friend and I both loved their glass noodle Pad Thai. The noodles are chewier than regular rice noodles. Service was friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back for more! read more

Fantastic sushi. We got the Lucky role and the Hawaiian role. They were packed with tempura and other goodies with delicious sauces on top. The pad Thai was okay. My daughter and I went to Daisuki for dinner last night and it didn't disappoint. I used to love getting sushi from them when they were located inside Logan Street Market but this was my first visit to their stand alone location. The server was very friendly and answered questions for us about the menu. We ultimately started with the gyoza from their "value" menu (I'm not sure if that's the name but they have a menu with slightly smaller portions of some items at very reasonable prices) and they were delicious. It was only $5 and came with 4 good sized pieces. That was perfect for us two. Then we decided on 5 sushi rolls as well. We don't get super adventurous with our sushi but everything we had was delicious. We had the California Roll (kiddos favorite), Tempura Shrimp Roll, Yum Yum Roll, Dragon Roll, and Crunchy Munchie Roll. I'm not sure if I had a favorite but they have Dragon Roll was one of the best Dragon Rolls I've personally ever had. We ate all but 4 pieces of sushi and left very full and happy! I personally liked that the restaurant was not super loud even though it's fairly small and the decor was beautiful. I'm not sure if it would be as quiet on a busy weekend night but I'd definitely go back and see. If I had one complaint it would be the parking situation. I think they have a few spaces behind the restaurant however they appeared to be full and much of the parking behind is reserved for book and music exchange and Uptown Cafe. The street parking is scarce as well so be prepared to walk. read more

They also made delicious steamed gyoza with pan fry on one side of the gyoza, as requested. The waitress is always very friendly. My one suggestion is to replace the painted floors which make sticking noises, as this detracts a bit from the ambiance. read more

The staff was super nice and helpful and cannot say enough great things about them. Our food was also delicious. We tried the spring rolls and gyoza as appetizers to start. Both were very tasty. I tried the bento box 3 where you get 4 half rolls of sushi in a bento box! It was super cool to get to try rolls I had never had before without committing to an entire roll that I may not like. My husband just got 2 rolls. We unfortunately didn't recognize that we had ordered the same roll. While mine was a half order and his was a full neither of us liked the pickled Japanese fruit roll. I tried mine and he ate half of his. I also tried the tempura sweet potato roll (loved this roll! My new favorite since I no longer can have dairy) a shrimp tempura roll and a California roll. I would highly recommend us bento box option as it offers the option to try new things while not paying the price for a full roll you may not like. Our waitress was very polite and even after we paid and were just chatting after eating she, still refilled our water. New sushi and Thai restaurant in town!!! We like to try new places and ran into Daisuki tonight. They were very busy but we were able to sit right away. Our food came out pretty fast considering how busy they were. Our waitress was nice. She answered a million questions we had. We had Pad Thai and couple of sushi rolls. They were amazing. Their Pad Thai was so delicious that we wanted to lick the plate. All our sushi rolls were fresh and very interesting. We definitely will be back to try different dishes.
