Came here for the first time last night for my husband's birthday. The first 4 appetizers we ordered were great and then the rest of the food which were entrees were not so great in our opinion. We told the server that we didn't like a dish and she said she would take it out and then there was another dish thar was so off putting we told her we didn't like that one but we don't need her to take it off the tab and we were simply telling her it wasn't good when she asked how it was going. She got offended and said but you ate it. And well yes we were 4 people sharing dishes so even if we all tried it and took a bite it would look like it was eaten lol. My husband stated that even if you take that dish off the tab we will insist you add it back in so we can pay for it because we aren't here for free food but to just let you know what we think when you simply ask how it's going. Anyway the bill came and she didn't take any of it out. We paid and left. I have been to countless restaurants around here in LA since we live here and any time we said we don't like a specific dish which isn't often we were never given attitude or was told "are you guys serious? you ate it" wouldn't come here again. We're still talking about how fun and innovative the margaritas were! Literally every single one we tried was perfectly balanced. You can tell a lot of thought went into creating this menu. Probably one of the few times a $20 price tag for a drink I'd be ok with. They were really special!! I ordered the Salsa Verde one on my second round and I loved it. We had trouble picking our favorites. Food was also delicious. Beautiful and flavorful. We got the ceviche, smashed avocado, queso and branzino. All items I would get again. Atmosphere was gorgeous. The design was elevated and I loved all the details in the lighting fixtures and look overall. My mom made a comment how she really loved the booths because she didn't sink in and feel far away. I am regular client of this restaurant, and I always bring my service dog and and today I was disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I was denied entry because I had my service dog with me, despite service dogs being legally permitted in dining establishments. I calmly explained this, but the staff still refused to allow us inside. I understand that policies around animals can be confusing, but service dogs are not pets--they are necessary medical aids. I hope the restaurant takes time to educate their staff so others don't experience the same situation. read more

We finally had the opportunity to visit Daisy and it was an amazing experience. The staff were friendly and attentive. Our server Alejandro took great care of us. Their cocktail menu is top notch. Wow... so needed in the Valley. They know what they are doing. Everything has a story and a purpose. We need more places like Daisy in the Valley. First off the decor and ambience was so fun and well executed but not stuffy or pretentious, just fun! The natural wood and the taxidermy add a level of classic dive bar feels but done up. The Spanish language translations in the bathrooms were a hilarious touch. Next, the food. Holy sh*t so good! The mushroom taco with fried leeks is a sleeper, the chicken is a must, the Branzino is the best fish I've had in a while, the queso fundido is so comforting and the tres leches cake was out of this world The drinks: let's just say the margaritas here aren't normal. They are tongue in cheek, and executed so well. I had the Salsa Verde Margarita, yes you heard me correctly a SALSA VERDE MARGARITA! So freakin good! Balanced, slightly spicy, tastes like salsa verde but not how you think it might. Trust me, try it! Service was on point! They get it. They just get it. The server, I think his name was Jared or Jerry, guided us through the menu and actually knew what he was talking about. On my second visit, I came back for lunch with my girlfriend. When we walked in, the hostess offered us a small high-top near the bar. I noticed at least nine open booths and tables and asked if we could sit at one of them instead. She said they were all reserved. Honestly, that felt more like a tactic than the truth--something I've seen before at certain LA restaurants. I made it clear we didn't want the high-top, but she repeated the same line. At that point, we declined and left. The interior and ambiance are nice, but what's the point when you chase away your customers? We went here for dinner last night and it was absolutely amazing. It was our second time going to Daisy and it was just as good as we remembered it being the first time. We tried a few different menu items and all were delicious but the AGUACHILE DE CALLO, CHICHARRÓN DEL PARQUE, and SALSA VERDE MARGARITA were the highlights of our night. We ordered seconds of the chicharrón and thirds of the margarita! Our server Jared was so friendly and gave us awesome recommendations on both food and drinks. The conversation and banter really made us feel at home and taken care of. So random, we even learned how much he loves ranch dressing. The booth we sat in was both comfortable and had adequate lighting to read the menu. There's been other places where I have a hard time seeing the menu due to my severe astigmatism so this was a plus for me. The water came in an up-cycled tequila bottle which we also found to be a nice touch, and the receipt came in a mini tortilla press. I used to go to Sherman from day one when it first opened, and recently I noticed the name had changed. I passed by and saw how incredibly packed it was, so we finally tried it last night and wow! I was amazed by how professionally this place is being run now. Everything was on point the service, the food, the vibes. The food and drinks absolutely lived up to the hype! We were doing a little "girl dinner," so we started with the salsa trio (the green salsa was TO DIE FOR) and then ordered two tacos, the octopus and the pork. Honestly, I couldn't even pick a favorite because both were insanely good. From the tortillas to the toppings to the flavor of the meat!! I'm literally drooling just thinking about it. After my 100th Yelp review, most of which are 5-star reviews, I'm sorry to have to write my first ever one star review. It was simply due to the service, which was the worst I've ever experienced. Our server did everything he could to make my wife and I feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. He was aggressive and insulting toward us every time he came to our table. We tried our best to ignore it, we figured he was probably having a bad night. We even went out of our way to be polite to him, yet nothing we tried improved his attitude toward us. We had really been looking forward to going here, we were celebrating my wife's birthday. Sadly, her birthday was absolutely ruined by the way this server treated us. I can't even review the food or drink, because it was hard to enjoy them with what we were having to put up with. Prior to writing this review, I reached out privately on Instagram to let them know about this experience. Here's their reply to my private message: "Hi, Frank. We are sorry you didn't have a good time. We would like to discuss this issue further with you. Can you provide you name, email, and phone number so a member of our team can reach out? Thank you!" So that's nice, right? Well, I responded to that DM with my name, phone number and email address because I would have been happy to discuss it further. But this was months ago. They never responded again. I followed up one month later with another message, asking them to respond. They never did. My last two messages to them were left on "seen." I find this broken promise to discuss the issue with me just as insulting as the service my wife and I experienced on her birthday. Please don't promise to reach out to someone if you're just going to ignore their comments. I really wish it hadn't gone down this way. Such an amazing spot and the service was magnificent. I set up a reservation online requesting 8 pm. I added a note for an earlier seating if possible and a specific section. Without needing to follow up my reservation was moved to 30 mins earlier. When I arrived I was given the exact section I asked. Amy was my waitress and came highly recommended and I am so glad we had her. She made sure our table was attended to in all the ways from drinks to wonderful food recommendations. The staff worked together to make sure everything arrived in a timely manner, so when my friend ordered a drink, and Amy was still explaining the options available, her beverage was brought out in record time. I came with a group to celebrate my friend's birthday, and from the moment we arrived, it was clear we weren't welcome. The restaurant was relatively empty, yet the hostess immediately told us that if more members of our party arrived, we would have to leave. This was confusing, since my friend had checked ahead of time, confirmed it was a great spot for birthdays, and even read that it was a bar environment where groups were welcome. Reservations were also wide open, so space was clearly not an issue. Throughout our short time there, we were met with rude looks from the staff, which only added to the uncomfortable atmosphere. Eventually, we were more or less pushed out and even suggested to go somewhere else--an oddly dingy spot that was nothing like the vibe we had chosen for our celebration. To make matters worse, as some of us were leaving, a server actually chased us to the door to ask who would be paying, while another member of our party was already settling the entire tab at the bar. I've never experienced a restaurant making a group feel so judged and unwanted. Instead of celebrating, we left feeling embarrassed and dismissed. Served on your choice of corn or flour tortilla with crispy cheese inside, the flavor is out of this world. 5/5 | Taco Arabe | $10 The marinated pork was tender with a nice citrusy vibe that made each bite really satisfying. The mint leaves were a nice touch for presentation, but I'd prefer them cut into strips so the flavor is more evenly spread. 4.5/5 | Mangoneada Margarita | $20 Great flavor & unique presentatio 4/5 | Salsa Macha Infante Margarita | $20 Very unique flavor, unlike anything else I've had--almost like Thai peanut noodles. Absolutely cannot say enough nice things about Daisy. I don't usually leave reviews but I feel compelled to share how outstanding this experience was. I spent about 15 years working in restaurants and I know how hard it is to achieve a win across areas in a busy establishment. The decor and ambience was a ten out of ten. It felt comfortable, clean, and cosy. The restaurant was packed, literally zero space for anyone but we walked in and were immediately sat at our reservation time. Greg (the manager), what an absolute gent. No pretense here, just a super humble guy who treated us like family. On a busy Saturday night he wasn't rushed or hurried, helped us to our table and then proceeded to answer every asinine question I had about the drinks and the menu. He answered questions about the owner who seems like a very nice guy, hands on fixing everything and anything when needed, cares about the restaurant and wants to make a great thing. It starts from the top down, and the owner being great sets the tone for the rest of the staff there. Our server Elanie (i know i fckd this spelling up and she told me at least three times), was phenomenal, really all of the staff were. Their service was relaxed but professional, again, I felt like I was being taken care of in someone's home. No one was rushed or hurried, they knew the menu well, had answers to all of my questions, and didn't try to push anything we didn't want. The food, so so good! The kitchen never gets enough credit, but they are back there slaving away and it's damn near 400 degrees, well freaking done. Our server coursed things out but we were never "waiting" on food. A busser was always dropping off hot chips and seemingly whenever anything at all was needed someone was there to check in and ask if everything was ok. At some point our server took a break and I believe Eve (sorry for messing this up too), took over. She was just as great stepping in so our service didn't miss a beat. Everyone just worked so well together it made our whole night feel seamless. Once the check was dropped we still had half our drinks left (our request), I asked if they needed the table and they said absolutely zero rush and to hang out as long as we wanted. Great food, great drinks, such a good vibe, incredible space. In America where everything is fast, thanks for making space for people to slow down and enjoy a great meal. Whatever you are doing is working, your team is literally just that, a team. Thanks to Daisy for the time and effort you have put into making this restaurant remarkable. Space is small and little change from the old Sherman bar. Food: Just OK. Smashed Avacado + Ribeye Chicharron = $26 for a bown of avacodo, some rib eye bits and some chips. Comes with no Salza - you have to buy that extra. Taco Arabe = $10 for a decent tasting small taco. Service: Slow. Wrong food bought to us. Drinks took a bit to get, but it was busy and new. Overall - let this new place vibe die, but there are so many other better Mexican places in the Valley. But if you like paying Beverly Hills prices for ok food, then it's on your list. read more

He was making jokes at my friend throughout the night that we didn't find funny. Almost like he was making fun of her. Going to a specialty margarita bar I was excited to try the salsa verde margarita. I asked if I could substitute the tequila in the margarita, but to my surprise, I was told it was a BATCH MADE margarita. For $20 I expected this margarita to be made to order. Drink was OK but I couldn't get past the price tag considering it's a batch made drink. My friends who ordered the creamsicle margarita and ranch water were also underwhelmed. I highly recommend! The only problem with this place is the drinks. I don't recommend coming here for multiple drinks as they are overpriced for what you get. You essentially are paying for a big block of ice in your cup. I ordered a few to try, tasty, but NOT for the price of ice. If you take out the block of ice they put in your drinks you will see that it's less than half a drink! It's actually really bad and is taking advantage of the consumer. read more
