One of the best kept secrets for wine lovers in the Valley. Buvette is a cute and comfy, yet elegant wine bar nestled next to Tipsy Cow on Ventura Blvd. It's very small inside, but never to the point where you can't get a seat. They have small two person booths, bar seating, and some seating outside. I recently came for a fun girls tarot card night and had so much fun. Great selection of wine, and food menu is small. I never come here expecting to eat a meal, I usually just get a little charcuterie board to go with my wine and it's great to share. Food can sometimes take a minute, because the person pouring the wine is also the one making your cheeseboard. Folks behind the bar are always friendly and approachable. One of my favorite spots in the Valley for a glass!

Great wine, cute service and lovely ambiance! Love how close it is to where I live. It will absolutely be my regular hangout!

LOVE Buvette. The wine selection is vast and the bartenders/wine enthusiasts are extremely knowledgeable. They will help find the optimal varietal for your desired interest. The menu is also super good, but is limited. Adorable little booths on the side with a few bar seats and a couple tables outside. We love bringing our dog and sitting on the patio. The decor is super cute. This location is very small, maybe 30ish ppl max? Perfect for a date night, drink and apps, or dinner. Happy Hour is great and the wines on it aren't just low shelf like a lot of places do, they're always rotating which is fun. Cheese boards are always great. The staff is always so incredibly kind.

This is the cutest little wine bar! I went with two friends, and I would not recommend going with more than 2. They did have seating, but it's definitely an intimate setting. The bartender was extremely helpful, and let me try 3 different wines before settling on a glass. I really appreciated the care taken! Overall, I can't wait to return and try more.

Ahhh Buvette you gorgeous local haunt! We enjoyed yet another Union Sacré wine with an incredible charcuterie board. I had to get all fancy with the combos but this was an incredible date night walk by. I can't recommend this place enough, it's cute, chique, and has a great selection of wines. The service is, as always, impeccable and sweet. Ya'll rule, thank you for a lovely evening!

Been scooting pass this 'lil sliver of a bar for years shuffling over to Tipsy Cow in the early afternoon as it is boarded up closed until 4pm. Little did I know this piece of Jenga in between the Cow and Toast is a cozy place of R&R with great wine picks, small selection of good beer, pristine cocktails as well as great small bites (tinned fish ftw) and even better [bar] tenders. Very welcoming, knowledgeable staff. Must try.

An exquisite bottle of French champagne to toast my friend's Where's Waldo 40th! The bartender was so kind to take our photo

My friend turned 40 and we decided the throw her a "Where's Waldo" 40th birthday crawl with intentions of us all dressing as Waldo and hopping from place to place down Ventura Blvd, seeing what we could get into. Buvette was the first place of the night and I'm SO GLAD we made a stop here. This place is small but mighty. A nice wine and cocktail list only (get your beer next door), small booth seating on the inside and a small intimate patio outside. It's a nice place for lovers, no doubt, but our group made it a little rowdy for the evening. That's ok. Everyone had good laughs staring at us dressed alike. We bought a bottle of French wine to toast the birthday girl (this one was very good! Lightly sweet with citrus notes, extremely refreshing), and the bartender was such a help to us the time we were there! He pulled out glasses for everyone to toast, he was our photographer and our cheerleader. Thank you! I want to come back on a date. I'll be back.

5* Wine, Food, Service, and Ambiance…read more We loved our experience at this authentic, quaint, and charming wine bar, where everything, from the warm, attentive service to the quality of the food and wine, felt authentic and thoughtful.. It was truly a journey through vintage wines, complemented by an expansive collection of whites, reds, roses, and even beer. There was something for every palate and the selection made the experience feel both intimate and exploratory. What surprised me most was the quality of the food! The risotto arancini was perhaps the best I've had in a long time: crispy on the outside, perfectly creamy inside, and incredibly flavorful. The charcuterie board was another highlight, filled with delightful surprises, including marmelade jam, fava bean chips, quality cheeses, and carefully selected meatss. Every bite brought something different to the table. Overall, this is a charming spot that combines great wine, surprisingly good food and genuinly quality service. A wonderful place to gather with friends, discover new wines and enjoy a memorable evening.

The setup is fast-casual style, where you order at the bar and then find a seat. The staff was excellent throughout the visit. They were patient, took the time to answer questions, and did a great job explaining the different wine options. They also let us sample a few wines before deciding, which I always appreciate. I ended up ordering the Rosso Veronese. It was dry overall but had a touch more sweetness than I expected, which made it easy to drink given I'm not much of a wine connoisseur. We also benefited from a special on the wine because it had been featured at an event the previous day. The space itself was comfortable and inviting. We grabbed a spot on one of the couches, which gave the evening a more relaxed feel compared to a typical wine bar setup. Pricing is about what you'd expect for a wine-focused spot. It's not inexpensive, but it didn't feel unreasonable either, especially considering the service and atmosphere. Between the knowledgeable staff, the opportunity to sample wines, and the comfortable setting, I'd happily come back and try a few more selections.

It's a small place and the decor didn't really feel like it matched the vibe, and the karaoke set-up was not very good. It was really hard to hear the backing music, even when you were the one singing, but this isn't the type of place that you come to "perform" for karaoke like a lot of other places in LA. It's very casual and low-pressure. Song choices were all over the place (which isn't necessarily a good or bad thing). Late night happy hour menu was decent and they offered it from 9pm on that night, and the place did get packed to standing room only. I had a hard time finding info on what their happy hour was before we went, so I took a picture to share. This was on 2/6/2026. The bartender, Brian, was very friendly, but I realized when looking at the emailed receipt afterwards that he switched one of my sibling's drinks on my tab, and I'm assuming mine got put on theirs. We have the same last name, so I understand the mix-up, but it would have been nice if he just asked about who was who instead of assuming, and it also would have been nice to see an itemized receipt before paying instead of just seeing the dollar amount we owed. Not a huge deal this time, just something that I hope they will keep in mind in the future. For food, my partner was able to get a pizza from a place across the street and bring it back into the bar, and Brian was kind enough to offer extra napkins. For other people with back problems, be aware that their bar stools do have back rests on them, but no cushions. We had a good time, and this bar seems to host special events regularly, which we may go back for eventually if the right one comes up, but I wouldn't go out of my way to go back here.

That's it! These may be hard times for hospitality in general but so many places are thriving anyway because someone at the helm knows about vision and food. Always on the lookout for something new and different, serving a fair amount of vegetarian and vegan dishes that are delicious, I somehow found Ocado. You have to look to find a place like this, unless you live in the neighborhood. The menu is staggering. Every single item is vegan, but unless someone tells you that, you wouldn't know by eating there. This is a place especially for two categories of people: committed vegans or meat-lovers who want to make the switch. I am in neither category. I am a lifelong vegetarian who has never liked the taste of animal meats. So, I appreciated and enjoyed Ocado even though I had to search the deep menu for things that did not include simulated pork, chicken or beef. Those things are there and the ones I chose were excellent. This is a small place. It is crowded most of the time, which must mean something is being done right, no? It is mostly clean, simple, but with little extras like the movie we could watch (Three Men and A Baby), the tinkling fountain, and hefty silverware, glassware, plates and napkins. The service was attentive and friendly. Parking is easy if you go to the corner and choose one of the Public garages for a very low fee. There is also metered parking that is just a matter of luck and timing. If you go at 3 pm on a Sunday, you will have no problem parking or being seated. We chose to eat at the bar and it was vey convenient. All that is very positive. The owner of Ocado and the chef (maybe one and the same, I don't know) had vision and knows how to make everything, and I mean every single item, delicious. For example, there are sauces and cheeses that are completely plant-based. I rarely have those and these were exceptional. Delicious and surprisingly so. There is one small drawback and it is personal. This stretch of Ventura is not the cleanest, best-smelling, or prettiest. I wish it were. A few blocks east and the environment is much nicer. But, this is where Ocado lives and is doing well, from everything I could see there, with a steady stream of patrons, and great reviews. This kind of food is the future. We are not going to return to barbarian times when we had to hit an animal over the head to get protein and then doctor it up to make it palatable. No meat based dish could possibly rival the ones we had at Ocado and that is a good sign for the progress the culinary arts are making and inevitably will continue to make as they recognize their environmental responsibility. Trust me. If you want to be ahead of the curve, and healthier, you have to see what is possible at the visionary Ocado.

Kelley, our server, was a sweetheart. And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.
