Loooove this wine bar! There's something about it that feels very NY-vibes. It feels like your local small wine bar. The space isn't very large but they have some tables inside, some small "booth"-style seats that only seat one person per side, some bar seating, and a couple tables. They also have a table out front in their patio. They have an extensive wine list with a little bit of everything. They also have a happy hour until 6pm which gets you $2 off select wines. I've come here before and tried a bunch of their sparkling wines which was so fun and delicious and last night I came by and tried one of their NA sparkling rose wines which was pretty nice! I love that they have a couple NA wines on their list. Staff here are always so friendly. Prob my favorite local spot, just wish it was bigger!! read more

I really wanted to love this place because it is walking distance from my home, but sadly, I was kind of disappointed! Its not baaaaaad, its just nothing I care to return for.. For starters, I think the pours were kind of lacking? Just feels like much smaller pours than I usually get at wine bars. The menu was pretty small, and apparently out of date because a few of the things we were interested in they didn't have that day. We also had like 3x different people serve us, so by the end of it I wasn't even sure who I should be asking for the check. My friend and I sat outside, so maybe the service would be better inside or at least at the bar, but it was just kind of... average at best. I think our waitress was new, so she wasn't really able to answer any questions, and the ones she did answer, ended up being corrected later. Which actually is TOTALLY fine, like I totally understand. But then when she brought our first wines, she accidentally knocked one over or hit it with the other glass or something (it happened fast) but it shattered one of the glasses spilling red wine everywhere, and even a drop on my white shirt!! She was suuuuuuper apologetic, and I can tell she felt bad, and we were not mad. We just kept saying that its okay and accidents happen. She did even bring me soda water for my shirt. Then, we asked if we can do the charcuterie plate with just cheese and no meats (we don't eat pork) and she said sure. She told us the number of cheeses to choose, we did, but then we got a lesser number served to us by a different waiter, and incorrect cheeses. He kindly brought one of the missing cheeses, but informed us that the lesser amount was actually the correct amount for this menu item. Okay, we would have chosen differently had we known that, but alright. Maybe I'm delusional, but between the cheese mixup and the wine spillage (and staining my white shirt), I kind of half expected a little something from them. Like comping one of the four glasses of wine, or maybe an extra little top off or something to say "hey sorry we're a mess today." I would never ASK for it, because as it was I felt bad for the girl who was new, so we just paid (and tipped of course) and left. Overall, its just nothing to write home about... read more

One of the best kept secrets for wine lovers in the Valley. Buvette is a cute and comfy, yet elegant wine bar nestled next to Tipsy Cow on Ventura Blvd. It's very small inside, but never to the point where you can't get a seat. They have small two person booths, bar seating, and some seating outside. I recently came for a fun girls tarot card night and had so much fun. Great selection of wine, and food menu is small. I never come here expecting to eat a meal, I usually just get a little charcuterie board to go with my wine and it's great to share. Food can sometimes take a minute, because the person pouring the wine is also the one making your cheeseboard. Folks behind the bar are always friendly and approachable. This is the cutest little wine bar! I went with two friends, and I would not recommend going with more than 2. They did have seating, but it's definitely an intimate setting. Sommeliers/staff were very friendly, answered all our questions and were happy to give multiple small tastings before picking our choice for a glass. Place got quite busy for a Thursday afternoon. Tried the cheese board and the dessert chocolate charcuterie board, both were really good. Buvette is a fantastic wine bar. It's a tiny place tucked between another restaurant and a salon. The owners were there pouring on a Friday night. The pride in ownership shows in the welcoming way they treat the customers. I'd never been there before but I felt like a regular. They gave me a table even though I was solo. I needed to be in and out and when I said I wished I could just have a half glass of champagne, they gave it to me and charged me accordingly. That is the sort of service that elevates a tiny shop to boutique status. It's hard to mess up tin fish, but the baguette was memorable. I really enjoyed my time there. Been scooting pass this 'lil sliver of a bar for years shuffling over to Tipsy Cow in the early afternoon as it is boarded up closed until 4pm. Little did I know this piece of Jenga in between the Cow and Toast is a cozy place of R&R with great wine picks, small selection of good beer, pristine cocktails as well as great small bites (tinned fish ftw) and even better [bar] tenders. My friend turned 40 and we decided the throw her a "Where's Waldo" 40th birthday crawl with intentions of us all dressing as Waldo and hopping from place to place down Ventura Blvd, seeing what we could get into. Buvette was the first place of the night and I'm SO GLAD we made a stop here. This place is small but mighty. A nice wine and cocktail list only (get your beer next door), small booth seating on the inside and a small intimate patio outside. It's a nice place for lovers, no doubt, but our group made it a little rowdy for the evening. That's ok. Everyone had good laughs staring at us dressed alike. We bought a bottle of French wine to toast the birthday girl (this one was very good! Lightly sweet with citrus notes, extremely refreshing), and the bartender was such a help to us the time we were there! Super cute wine bar! They had a great selection of champagne, rose, whites, and reds. The service was great and the ambiance is really cozy and well done :) My only complaint was that the happy menu was limited and pricing wasn't much less than the regular menu. My husband surprised me with our first visit, and upon first glance, I thought we were strolling up to the Tipsy Cow. When we deviated to the entrance of Buvette, I was surprised by an understated front door but immediately delighted with a beautiful interior. We sat at the bar, but the booths were gorgeous and intimate. My husband got the Granacha and I got the Moschofilero - both were delicious and easy-drinking. There are specific wines on the happy hour menu, so be sure to ask. And although not on the physical HH menu, the QR code on the back revealed an online HH menu with the "Adult Lunchable". Between the free bar mix (corn nuts, crunchy chickpeas and Lima beans??), and the Lunchable, it was a perfect amount of food between the two of us to keep it light but to feel satiated. A friend and I were on a Ventura Blvd weeknight walk and I said that I wanted to try this wine bar that I've heard about. So we walked down towards Sepulveda and came across an almost full house when we arrived. There were a few seats left at the front window with open shutters. So cute, and charming, great vibe and is somewhat quiet (except for the loud cars and motorcycles on Ventura, but that's to be expected). We quickly ordered 2 glasses of the Cabernet Sauvignon without really reading through the menu. SO GOOD! A perfect glass of wine for the end of the day. I had passed this place a few weeks ago and decided to give it a try on 9/3 (Labor Day weekend). We arrived around 8 pm and only one of the booths was taken. We ordered one white one, one red, and one rose and the meat & plate board (charcuterie). Atmosphere + service: The lovely girl who served us was helpful and sweet. I love the atmosphere as it's very cozy except all the loud street noise. It has cute little booths and it's perfect to sit and talk for a few hours. Food + drinks: Aside from the cheese & meat plates, they don't have much else except almonds and olives so don't come here hungry! I'm not the biggest wine person but I enjoyed the wine that was suggested. The charcuterie board on the other hand, had very very small pieces of 3 kinds of cheese and a few pieces of 3 kinds of meat. There was also honey, some bread and some other small things (pickles, nuts, etc). It also didn't have the greatest presentation aside from a few small flowers. The honey was on the board itself rather than a small jar which I didn't appreciate. Price: I paid around $80 with tax for 3 wine glasses and a charcuterie board. I don't think the charcuterie board was worth $36 at all. Can definitely be made at home with less than $10 considering how small the portion of each item was. I came here for a first date and was a little overwhelmed by how busy it was at 8 PM on a Friday evening- heads up it's first come first serve table seating and full bar seats, and Friday is busy! Luckily I was able to snag a table right after it was bussed and was very pleased with the ambiance, everyone seemed in good spirits and the serving staff was very kind.
