Really cute brunch spot with gorgeous interior. It's definitely a vibe and while I saw both couples, families, and groups of friends there...I would say it's the perfect place for a friend's brunch. Theres a DJ, bottle service girls, and flatscreen TVs playing whatever sports are in season. I also really liked that upstairs was partially rooftop and you could see the city while eating. The service was OK, and food took a little longer than I would've liked for it to come out. But, the food was absolutely delicious! I had fried lobster and pancakes, and it was a 10 out of 10 for me. I really wanted to love this place because the food was honestly SO good, but the overall experience was a little chaotic. We had a reservation for brunch and unfortunately weren't seated until about 20-25 minutes after our reservation time. To be fair, it was raining that day and it seemed like the weather had taken out some of their usual seating, so they were definitely backed up. Totally understandable -- but unfortunately, the delays continued once we were seated. Service was extremely slow and pretty disorganized. We ordered drinks, then our server came back because something had happened to the order and she couldn't remember what we'd ordered, so we had to give it to her again. We eventually ordered our food, and one of my friend's items came out before we had even gotten our drinks. Our drinks finally arrived, then my food came out, but we were still waiting on the rest of his. Everything seemed to arrive at completely different times. We also asked for hot sauce to go with my friend's catfish at least three times and kept reminding our server, but it never came. Eventually we were basically like... never mind, we don't even need it anymore. By that point, the meal was practically over. The other thing to know: it is LOUD in here. They have a DJ, which I actually thought was fun, and the music was great, but the volume was so high that my friend and I could barely hear each other. Even our server commented that she couldn't hear us. I love a fun, lively brunch atmosphere, but it's probably a little too loud when no one at the table can actually have a conversation. BUT... the food really did redeem a lot of the experience. I got the pancakes with crispy chicken wings, and OMG. The wings were perfectly crispy and whatever spicy sauce they put on them was ridiculously good. Sweet, spicy, crispy, fluffy -- somehow it all worked together and I would absolutely order it again. My friend got the catfish with his pancakes, and the catfish was also delicious. Super crispy on the outside and really well cooked. Apparently the food here does not need hot sauce anyway, which is fortunate because you may never receive it. My Hugo Spritz was also really good once it finally made its way to me. Overall, the kitchen definitely delivered. The food was genuinely delicious and enough that I'd be willing to give this place another chance, but the service and timing need some serious work. Hopefully we just caught them on an especially hectic day. If they can get the service together (and maybe turn the DJ down just a tiny bit ), this could be such a great brunch spot. read more

I was really disappointed with our experience at Cienna. We had a reservation, but when we arrived, they tried to seat us at the bar or put us at a very small table for two. After speaking with the manager, Brandon, he said he could accommodate us, but we still waited another 20 minutes. Once we were finally seated, the cleanliness was a major concern. There was gum underneath our table, dirt under the table, dirty napkins and cups, and a bug crawling on the menu. The restaurant was also extremely hot and stuffy. An employee told us the air conditioning was broken. It was so uncomfortable that we couldn't even enjoy our food. One of the most concerning things we witnessed was a large amount of hair on the floor. An African American server picked it up with her hands and threw it in the trash. She then went directly to serve food at the table next to us without washing her hands. Seeing that was extremely disturbing, especially in a restaurant. We also noticed champagne shots being offered to the server's family, while we were not offered the same. The food itself wasn't impressive either. The pancakes were overcooked. By the end of the meal, we felt rushed to leave and were offered two seats at the bar. For the price and the expectations that come with making a reservation, this experience was unacceptable. Pretty cool spot with two very different vibes depending on where you sit. Upstairs is really loud during brunch, while downstairs has a much more mellow atmosphere. All of the food was great, but everything came out at different times. There was probably a 10 minute window between the first plate arriving and the last, which was a little odd when everyone is trying to eat together. They were unfortunately out of all the champagne I wanted to buy, but they did offer to discount some different bottles, which was a nice gesture. Welcome to the valley!! The food good that I'd come back just to try more items on the menu. Everything we had was delicious, and there were so many other dishes I already want to order next time. Except the breakfast burrito was interesting, it was technically a "wet burrito" but the middle of the burrito was facing up and the ends of the burrito were sitting in the sauce. After we asked for extra sauce (since it was at the bottom ends of the burrito) we soon realized when the bill came it was an additional $3 for a mini side of sauce. That also look 10 minutes to get to our table prior to asking for it. The drinks definitely didn't disappoint either, the frozen margarita tower was such a fun touch (HIGH ALCOHOL FAVOR, the seasonal flavors got masked by the tequila and citrus) and a huge hit with our group! Also the champagne bottle order, that comes with 4 different juices. We sat outside on the ground floor patio and loved the vibe, but I noticed they also have indoor tables, bar seating, kitchen counter seating, and an upstairs patio with its own bar. I already know I'm requesting the upstairs patio next time with the DJ!! The service was great. I forgot to leave my review but I stopped by for brunch this past Father's Day. I had just came across a post of them on IG when a mutual friend posted their grand opening I believe it was. Being that it was in the valley and I've been getting asked about brunch spots; I did my due diligence to see what they were talmbout lol. There is valet and street parking available. I believe a lot of people parked behind the building in what appeared to be somewhat of an alley. Some may have even parked in the shopping center across from Firestone. I parked on the street where the shopping center was and walked down to the restaurant. Upon walking up I immediately was feeling the vibes. It was a Sunday, so a lot of Black Folks were looking their best. Which I have to applaud. There's patio seating out front prior to entering the restaurant. Appeared to be full as Peale were making reservations and waiting to be seated. I was able to walk in and get escorted to a bar section right in front of the kitchen; where I was then able to see the chef and cooks cooking. The view complemented the vibe. The ambiance was extraordinary. The second floor is accompanied by another bar amongst tables, a beautiful view and a DJ. Now, I didn't receive the best service when it came to receiving my first drink and my food. I ordered a "King Status" which is their version of a Sidecar. The drink was great but it took about 15-20 mins to receive it. I ordered the lamp chops with potatoes for there and the catfish and grits to go. I was hoping I was still going to have my drink to sip along with it but unfortunately, I finished it because it took too long for the meal to come out. I then ordered the "Birds of a Feather" to kill some more time as I waited. By the time I received my order; it was brought out to me by a different young lady who had packed everything to go. At this point I was really disappointed with the service. She then asked me if I wanted her to put it on a plate and I declined. The lamb chops and potatoes were great in my opinion. They were flavorful and seasoned pretty well. Nor were they tough. The potatoes were seasoned well also. However, the catfish was fried in what appeared to be dirty grease or oil. The fish wasn't overcooked but appeared to look as if it was. I forgot to take a pic of the grits but they were really good. Despite the lack of no cheese nor chives, I still found them to be enjoyable with the catfish. I shared my thoughts with the waitress. She was very understanding. She also provided clarity as to why I wasn't receiving the best service. As a way to make amends she was able to remove both of my drinks. So I got to drink for free in a sense. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owner or one of the owners, Brandon. Very cool guy indeed. Much respect. He was more than open to hearing about my experience. He took accountability and apologized on his staff's behalf. He too also provided clarity to the situation and gave me his number. Overall, I enjoyed the drinks. I liked the food. The ambiance and vibes were great. I'm a definitely return for another visit and keep sharing this spot with others. Just because I didn't have the best first time experience doesn't mean someone else wouldn't and that's doesn't mean my next visit will be the same. Keep a positive attitude. Was looking for a new brunch spot, and saw the great reviews for Brunch & Sip, so we decided to give it a try. Three of us valet parked ($10) but the 4th kept looking for parking and we were not permitted to sit down until all of us were there. She finally arrived, and we were seated in the main downstairs restaurant. Two on the bench and 2 in chairs, but one of the chairs was missing. 3 of us sat on the bench, and chatted, looked at the menu etc. Finally a table next to us cleared, and they bussed it, but didn't offer us a chair. We finally asked our server (who knew we were missing a seat) if we could steal one from the empty table next to us. She got it, and we proceeded as planned. There were 3 people at the bar/table right by us who were super loud and conducting a FaceTime call! We could barely hear ourselves. But it was a fun energy, and we placed our orders starting with a champagne juice flight. It comes with a full bottle of champagne, and small carafes of orange, grapefruit, cranberry, and pineapple juices. A mix & match mimosas bar. Very fun. The food was absolutely delicious. My shrimp & grits were so good! I just wish there had been a little more. Compared to my friend's meals, it was like a snack. But again, delicious!! Two had the fried chicken & French toast (instead of waffles, because our server recommended the French toast.) They were so happy with their meals. Brunch and Sip is a new joint in Studio City. The food is good, but not one of the 20 people I went with two weeks ago, (nor the guest I took today ) wanted to return or even go in. My previous group all agreed the food was great - slow to arrive but good when they tasted it. Their reasons for no return were too slow, too cramped and too loud.. I made a reservation for today just to give it another shot.. When we went inside it was ridiculously loud - club loud. Music blaring out so people shouted to be heard.. the acoustics magnify the volume. And it was packed again. I'm happy for them as we want businesses to thrive.. my friend walked in and immediately turned around because she couldn't hear herself speak. It was an instant and resounding NO WAY. I really hope the owners read this because it would be so nice to come again, but if 20 people all said the same thing previously, and my friend said it again today, no amount of good food will get people back. It's extremely cramped inside.. I know they want to maximize on tables and seating, but this is almost claustrophobic- especially on the first floor. Upstairs is more open plan but really hot - windows are floor to ceiling and wide open and no amount of fans will prevent the heat and humidity from over powering any attempt to cool the space down. If you are good with having to shout to be heard, can handle really tight spaces and happy to wait over 40 minutes for food to show, then this place is for you. Like I said food is good - but not good enough to give it another chance sadly. Final note: anyone with hearing issues should stay away because of the sound levels. read more

He had an incredible presence and clearly knew what he was doing--and it definitely showed in the food. The only downside was the service. Came to a celebratory brunch here last Sunday. A beautiful location filled with beautiful people. Laughter and smiles flowing...along with the drinks. They make their Bloody Mary mix in house, therefore I had to play. It was good. The olives, celery and bacon are a nice touch. But I think next time I must inquire about what kind of vodka is being used. The music and decor....tight. Now down to the most important part of Brunch....the food. Our table ordered... The fried lobster tail served lemon ricotta pancakes. Pancakes Grits Crab cakes A lobster roll And three sides of chicken wings...over time. I don't really eat chicken but I heard the praise and caught a whiff of the glaze ...so I tried one. The last batch was overcooked...maybe that was the universes's way of telling me I shouldn't have had chicken. Consistency is key. But the glaze is so darn good...it's even good when it's a little charred. I was told the grits were good. They looked delish but I didn't try them. The pancakes were good. I'm tough on pancakes so I'll leave it there. It's hard to meet the high expectations of what a lemon ricotta pancake should feel and taste like. I personally wasn't a fan. The crab cakes were a tad too earthy and herby for me. I like my crab cakes, crabby. The tarragon was strong in these ones. Whew. Now ...the dish I would not do again....the lobster "roll". It should be called Splash of lobster on mini brioche bricks. I didn't want to be the one...so I asked for salt and pepper and popped those little hard bites in my mouth. But...no. NO. I must add, I'm gonna go back and try other dishes. So I'm not done here. But honestly I wouldn't even accept the lobster "roll" as a free appetizer. It oozed disappointment. read more

Really disappointing experience. I came here with my family to celebrate my mom's birthday, and it ended up putting a damper on what was supposed to be a special day. We waited over 60 minutes while multiple tables that arrived 20 minutes after us were served their food first. The only things we received were one entrée and a side of potatoes and fries, while the rest of our order was nowhere to be found. Our waiter was very kind and apologized, even offering us a free drink, so I don't blame him. But after not eating all day, it was frustrating to sit there for nearly an hour watching everyone around us enjoy their meals while we had nothing. I felt especially bad for my mom, who spent her birthday sitting there hungry instead of enjoying her brunch. Dining at this restaurant was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. Watching the Executive Chef and Sous Chef work their culinary magic right before my eyes was truly captivating. I ordered the Blackened Salmon and Shrimp (the rosemary potatoes and sauté kale was incredible), requesting my salmon well done. Despite that, it remained perfectly juicy and cooked to perfection. Kristin, my waitress, was absolutely magnificent , attentive to every detail with a warm smile that never faded. Her positive energy truly elevated the entire dining experience and is undoubtedly a key part of what makes this restaurant a true gem. I hesitated to leave this review because overall our group had a nice time however I will say there is room for improvement. We were seated upstairs in the enclosed patio area which is super cute and has a Vegas like vibe which we love however there are no fans and air circulation and in this summer heat, yall need something! It got really hot up there, really fast. The drinks were good and everyone else's food was good however I can't speak too much on mine considering my crab Benedict came out 25 minute after everyone else's food was dropped and the eggs were heavily overcooked. One egg was literally hard boiled inside and the other was border line hard boiled, but certainly not how a Benedict should be served. I ended up taking one bite and giving it back to the server because I didn't want to wait any longer for my food since the rest of our table had already finished their meals. All in all I think this place has a fun vibe and has great potential but they need to hire more staff to keep up with the demand and get better at food timing. 5 stars. beautiful new spot in Studio City with friendly service and a great menu. The fried lobster tail and wings were excellent, and the mimosa was perfectly balanced with just a splash of juice. The shrimp and grits were good too, but I'd love to see the gravy dialed back a bit on the salt so the crab flavor can really shine on its own. A few dishes also took longer to come out, but since we were sharing everything, it wasn't a big deal. Hopefully that's just part of the normal new-restaurant kinks getting worked out. My first time here and it did not disappoint. The ambience is beautiful, love the decor and vibe. Went for brunch with a friend during the week. Service was great. The waiter was lovely. But the food....OMG was amazing! Had the Benny and pancakes and wings, and WOW! Added the tallow fries, delish! Will definitely go back and try additional dishes. But so far bravo! read more

i came all the way from inglewood because i seen a video about this place having daily brunch. once my party sat we were told "if you need anything holler" from our "server". We were sat for 40 mins without anyone checking back in for drinks or anything. A couple after us was sat and immediately given water and offered drinks. while we were sat for 40mins. The servers actively were staring at our table and not coming to offer anything no drinks no apps nothing. FORTY MINS. We walked out. Hot food was sitting on the line for a long amount of time with servers just talking and staring at the food. It seems like nobody wanted to even be there. Terrific new bar/restaurant on Ventura focused on Southern-style Brunch fare. Food was very good, fresh and full of flavor, decadent and delicious. Friendly, pro service, lovely setting. Music was too loud for us, this place definitely skews towards a younger, hip, urban demographic. There's an upstairs bar/lounge area that isn't open yet. The high-fat, high-salt, high-spice level of my food order, delicious as it was, caused me a some acid indigestion a few hours later. read more

Brunch & Sip is a great addition to the Valley, and judging by the line out the door, I'm clearly not the only one who thinks so. From the moment we walked in, the vibe was there. The space is beautiful, the decor is on point, and the music pulled everything together. My ratings: D'USSÉ Lamb Chops - 10/10 I usually don't like lamb because of the gamey taste, but whatever they do here completely gets rid of it. The D'USSÉ glaze was incredible, they lit the whole plate on fire right at the table, and even the potatoes stayed crispy the entire meal. Shrimp & Grits - 10/10 Hands down my favorite dish. The grits were rich and creamy, the sauce was so good I wanted to take some home, and the shrimp had the perfect char. Crab Cakes - 9.5/10 Crispy on the outside, full of flavor, and packed with crab. D'USSÉ Drink Tower - 10/10 If you're going with a group, this is the move. Perfectly mixed and definitely part of the experience. First Class & Petty Cash - 10/10 This cocktail was fire. Smooth, well-balanced, and one of those drinks that's dangerous because it goes down way too easy. What I love most is that they're bringing brunch culture to the Valley every day of the week, not just Saturdays and Sundays. Not ADA compliant, especially if you have a service animal. Steer clear! My friend made a reservation for her birthday brunch for an indoor table for 5 because of the 100+ degree heatwave currently plaguing the SFV. 3 different hostesses were made aware of my service animal's presence before the party was called to be seated (not required but I even called ahead of time to confirm a service animal would be accompanying me to this reservation), at which point we were told to hold so we could be resat due to a "pet." After explaining to the same 3 people that my animal is a medical alert/service animal, the proceeded to attempt to seat the party of 5 outside at a table for 4 (in dangerously hot temperatures). Terrible. At this point, I requested to speak with a manager, and in speaking to me, he specifically broke ADA law in 2 ways: 1) repeatedly inquiring about the specific nature of my disability, 2) saying that the patio is where service animals are required to go. After some more back and forth, he relented to go try to "work something out." However, after 10 additional minutes of waiting, the entire group was so off put and uncomfortable by the staffs treatment of a disabled patron, we decided to leave. 0/10, would not recommend to anyone read more

Brand new spot that operates as a perfect brunch spot, lunch spot, and lounge. The drinks are phenomenal and very fairly priced for the high-level of execution. Each cocktail is its own adventure, but I would recommend starting with a Hugo Spritz. When in doubt asked a friendly bartenders, who know the menu very well. The interior is inspired by a tropical mahogany lined lounge and a DJ booth on the second floor shows promising entertainment. I seen this place several times on instagram so I figured we should give it a try. I did make a reservation for this location via open table, but was asked to wait more than an hour and half for my table. I ended up making a separate reservation to see if that available time would be called before my initial reservation since we were waiting so long. Once they found that we had two reservations, we ended up getting seated. The menu was very standard to what you can find on a brunch menu, but my wife had many questions in regard to the allergy restrictions as she is gluten free. They had a few options but none of which she was very appeased to try, so she ended up with a shrimp salad. Although, she couldn't try a specialty item she did like the salad. I, myself had the catfish and grits which were ok but I was taken aback from the presentation. I've had this same meal at other establishments and the catfish was layered on top of the grits with a cajan sauce. Here the two came separate, with the grits being in a bowl and no sauce. Overall it was great the fish was very seasoned and I didn't even have to tell them to fry it hard. Now I will say I didn't get a chance to see the upstairs area as we were on the first level. That's a pretty tight space and very busy as people are trying to navigate where to go and where the restrooms are. The bar, kitchen and dining are literally in one corridor. I may go back to experience the upper level yet it's not a must. read more
