I live in San Jose, but I get down to San Juan Bautista a lot to visit friends and attend events. I always try to stop in Daisy's. It's right on the main street (3rd Street), but it also has a nice patio out back when the weather is warm. Daisy's has a cool, almost kitschy vibe, with lots of stuff hanging on the walls, and a great old-time looking bar. The crowd is really friendly - mostly local people at night - and all kinds of people. It really is the kind of place where you go in for a quick drink and end up getting pulled into a conversation and hanging out for a couple of hours. I like going there when Dan is working. It's a cool local bar. Good conversation. Ladies even felt comfortable hanging out there. Two TVs with MNF. 12 taps. The Santa Cruz Amber was delicious. Full bar, too, of course. I wondered if the hotdogs were any good since that seems to be a specialty. I saw the corndogs were only $2.50. I wanted to order one so bad, but I just couldn't possibly pull it off since I already had pizza for dinner. I'll never know whether those calories would have been worth it. Been here many times throughout the years, pretty consistent experience every time. Total Epitome of a local bar. They have a beautiful outside area to sit and hang out pool table small stage select menu of bar food and some pretty cool bartenders every time we went. They have swag for sale which I think it's cool because we always like to get small stuff like that from the local dives. I'm stopping in to have a drink or having one too many this is a great place. Hands-down a staple. We went this Fourth of July it was pretty quiet during the day as town looks like it was shutting down early however we still had a good time grabbed some drinks before we went and had dinner. We definitely will always be back every time we're in SJB. I'd like to add this to women's restroom was immaculately clean! Basically the only watering hole in town with a liquor license, and the prices are reasonable. Came here for drinks with some family and friends after an event. It's a biker bar, that I guess replaced an older biker bar that had hell's angels affiliations back in the day, and is one of the few full bars in San Juan Baptista. It's the kind of place where you walk in, the tattoo covered bartender is vaping, and the stereo is blasting death metal. It is as though they really don't care if they are off-putting to the average passerby. Which is oddly endearing and an interesting philosophy for a business. Definitely a lot of locals and regulars come here, I was a fish out of water. Stick to beer, shots, or liquor with soda. I tried to order some cocktails here and got some odd results. read more

It is a lot bigger inside than it looks when your just driving by so make sure you make it a point to check it out. Had to take off two stars for one complaint. Daisy's is a nice place with friendly bartenders & an amicable crowd. However one has to ask the question their choice in bands, at least the one that was performing tonight, Saturday, May 6th, 2023. The band in question, SPIT "N" MUD, were playing a set this evening, and I was quite enjoying their music, their song selection, and it was right up my alley with things that I sing as well. I am, not say anything too amazing about myself, a pretty decent singer. I've sung professionally before, and hearing their melodies, I felt like seeing this evening. I was willing to pay for it which is the opposite of what's happened for me in the past. I approached one of the band members between sets, and told him that I appreciated their music, and said that I had a request. I told him that I was going to leave a tip regardless of the answer, however, asked if I would be allowed to sing a song with them if I were to leave a more generous tip. He asked me what I wanted to sing and I gave him two options and he told me that he knew both of them. He said he needed to check if the other bad members knew those numbers, and asked if I had other songs if they didn't know those two. I told him that I had more options and asked him to come to me if the first two were no-gos. He said, "Sounds good, let me talk to the band members and find out what we can do with the first two and we will go from there." With this I left the $20 tip (which he saw me do), considering that I was going to be allowed to sing. When the band returned, band member I spoke to seem to be taking a long time. I approached one of the other band members and asked if the other gentleman I'd spoken to had brought the two songs to them and if either them worked and he said, "Oh, we're not doing that tonight." I told him what had happened and said that I'd even tips more generously. He said, "Well you can take that back," which is not something that I'm going to be doing, dipping my hand into a tip jar like low life after leaving a tip. So, I said, "No, I was going to tip you guys anyway, just not that much." He said, "Okay, thanks." When the other band member came back you did not look at me or make I contact with me at all, you did not approach me or say anything to me, nothing. But actually should have happened here was that somebody should have come to me with the $20 and handed it back to me saying, "hey, sorry for the miscommunication, it doesn't matter what the song is, we're not doing this at all." Ideally I would have just been told Noah to get go, or been communicated with like a human being. As it is, I was treated like garbage, and discarded like nothing. This is not kind behavior, and it's also not honorable. If a member of your team says that they're going to look into something and try to make something happen, then it's on the oldest of the entire team to communicate to the person if that person is communicated, or at the very least the person who miscommunicated should make it right in some way, at least verbally. At this point I would have preferred to have not tipped them at all, because good music or not, these people are shit people who I don't want to support in any way, whatsoever. And since I don't want to support them in anyway, whatsoever, I won't be returning to Daisy's on any night they haven't been playing there, which is a shame.​ read more

A Meg walks into a bar... and horribly needs a bathroom. Daisy's was clean, large and actually pretty empty when we stopped in to take a breather. I ordered a champagne (as thats the only I drink) and several stars right there for just having it, but the motherly looking woman behind the counter who seemed to know all the regulars was quick and friendly when she asked me what I'd like.
