The Three Cousins not only open/close pools, they offer creative solutions for the homeowner in need. They have open/closed our in-ground pool, power washed our home and exterior walkways, replaced a wooden gate, created a brick walkway and installed an interim drainage solution. They will shop for materials at Home Depot or the Pool Store if needed. Alternatively, you can provide all supplies. [This section of the review remains unchanged] We started using this company a few years back (when they were "Cousins Pool Service")*. Small, family business that was easy to reach via text. They've grown and now use a shared company phone/texting system to book appointments. We booked an appointment for an in ground pool opening today via text. When there wasn't anyone here by 2pm, my brother rang the company owner. His voicemail instructs you to ring the main company phone number. The receptionist collected the information and promised to call with an update. By 3:30 we figured they weren't going to call, so we called them. My brother explained everything (again), highlighting (again) that the appointment was confirmed via text. He was asked (again) who booked the appointment from the company. We have no idea who operates their company appointment booking system. The owner reached out via text to my brother just now (4:30) and confirmed we are not on the schedule. He asked for the details my brother has provided twice to the receptionist. Providing coverage to watch both of my parents is always a challenge as they are elderly. We booked the time and prepared the backyard. (Moving the heavy filter/pump monstrosity, buying chemicals, adding water to the pool, pumping water off the cover, etc, etc.) * The guys who work for this company are really nice. The end work product is excellent. It's important to show up. Full stop. Ideally, you should be on time. It's not the client's job to explain why their time is valuable. I'm sorry you were frustrated by this review. Habitual scheduling issues forced us to fire you. I flipped thru my phone to refresh my memory on two prior projects. Sean scheduled an 11am powerwash and was an hour late. He completed part of a 1-day project, returning the next day. When shopping for drainage/fencing material (3pm), the guys deviated to work for another client without any notice. Sunset was at 5:53pm with a storm that night. The old gate had been removed, the grass ripped off and a path dug into the ground. I'm glad the guys returned at 7:30 pm and enclosed the yard as we have an in-ground pool. However, putting sand into the hole was poor planning with rain on the horizon. It became mud. Additionally, the landscapers were unable to access the backyard with a moat. It was delayed and scheduled to be installed the 2nd week of Nov. They asked if I still wanted the cover (I did). But now leaves are falling into the pool with more on the way. I need to put a temp. cover on the pool until this one arrived, but there are already leaves in the pool with more on the way. I was fine paying for the closing service but Gibbons wanted to charge me for removing the leaves--leaves that are only their due to their delays and poor customer service. When I expressed this, Gibbons acted as if they were doing me a favor. I declined their "favor" and went with a local company to close/winterize. A couple of days ago they email me a refund for my deposit of the cover. No explanation in the email; instead they replied to my review on another site as if they tried to accommodate me and are granting my refund--a refund I never asked for. So, I'll end with that if you like paying for Gibbon's mistakes, being lied to, misled & having your (overpriced) orders canceled unilaterally after leaving a deposit, Gibbons is the place for you. Save time, money & aggravation and look elsewhere for your pool needs.

Built me a very expensive and leaky pool. They convinced me for years that it was fixed again and…read moreagain, only to experience the same problems over and over: chemistry issues, salt, chemical & water loss. They ultimately blamed me for the leak and wanted to charge me several thousand for a pressure test. I finally decided to move forward with a pressure test at the end of the 2024 season, only to have Haven's new Sales rep try and convince me that the marble dust was my issue. Later the rep called me drunk after playing golf trying to close the deal for new marble dust to the tune of $30-40K. Last year, at the beginning of the season, I had a reasonably priced pressure test done by East West pools and found out that my pipes were fine. They applied $20 worth of silicone around all of the fixtures (including the deep end light which I suspected to be the culprit the whole time) while the pool was empty. For the first time in 20 years my pool is holding water! I feel like an idiot ever trusting Haven; glad its over.

Worse yet, the tech put acid in a chlorine tank. When I went to refill the chlorine, it caused a gas reaction which could have killed me. They emptied to incorrect acid when I called them, but no apology. They even tried to charge for the acid they incorrectly filled! Now that it is time to close, the INTELLICHEM probe tubes are not with the equipment, so I must pay for new ones. They claim to have left them here, but I did not recall seeing than anywhere since the probes were installed after the pool opening. Unfortunately, finding an honest, competent pool service company is a real challenge! I will add to this review after my closing by a different company. I could not trust Haven to close properly as they do not take responsibility for their services.

Be forewarned - customer service is non-existant. Also, they commit to completing the certification with the town - but years later I came to find out they didn't do that either. They secured a builders permit, but the last step in the process for a CO is a final inspection - they never took care of that. What would have cost $100 at the time winds up costing over $1000 when you find out it wasn't done and you need to take care of it before selling your house. Be very careful before selecting these guys!
