The Three Cousins not only open/close pools, they offer creative solutions for the homeowner in need. They have open/closed our in-ground pool, power washed our home and exterior walkways, replaced a wooden gate, created a brick walkway and installed an interim drainage solution. They will shop for materials at Home Depot or the Pool Store if needed. Alternatively, you can provide all supplies. [This section of the review remains unchanged] We started using this company a few years back (when they were "Cousins Pool Service")*. Small, family business that was easy to reach via text. They've grown and now use a shared company phone/texting system to book appointments. We booked an appointment for an in ground pool opening today via text. When there wasn't anyone here by 2pm, my brother rang the company owner. His voicemail instructs you to ring the main company phone number. The receptionist collected the information and promised to call with an update. By 3:30 we figured they weren't going to call, so we called them. My brother explained everything (again), highlighting (again) that the appointment was confirmed via text. He was asked (again) who booked the appointment from the company. We have no idea who operates their company appointment booking system. The owner reached out via text to my brother just now (4:30) and confirmed we are not on the schedule. He asked for the details my brother has provided twice to the receptionist. Providing coverage to watch both of my parents is always a challenge as they are elderly. We booked the time and prepared the backyard. (Moving the heavy filter/pump monstrosity, buying chemicals, adding water to the pool, pumping water off the cover, etc, etc.) * The guys who work for this company are really nice. The end work product is excellent. It's important to show up. Full stop. Ideally, you should be on time. It's not the client's job to explain why their time is valuable. I'm sorry you were frustrated by this review. Habitual scheduling issues forced us to fire you. I flipped thru my phone to refresh my memory on two prior projects. Sean scheduled an 11am powerwash and was an hour late. He completed part of a 1-day project, returning the next day. When shopping for drainage/fencing material (3pm), the guys deviated to work for another client without any notice. Sunset was at 5:53pm with a storm that night. The old gate had been removed, the grass ripped off and a path dug into the ground. I'm glad the guys returned at 7:30 pm and enclosed the yard as we have an in-ground pool. However, putting sand into the hole was poor planning with rain on the horizon. It became mud. Additionally, the landscapers were unable to access the backyard with a moat. James went the extra mile to make sure our pool is ready for summer. Our pool pump broke and he tried his best to fix it but it just needed to be replaced being so old. He came to fix our pool pump way after hours and service the pool, did not leave us hanging at all. Will continue to use for many other seasons. read more

Best Pool Service Company I have ever used, and I've used a ton of them. The techs are awesome in all aspects of helping out with my pool, opening, closing, cleaning, repairs, you name it. Their pricing is also very on-point and reasonable. Front desk is also really helpful and is cool with text messaging which is convenient. So many pool companies charge you like $150 just to walk in the backyard when there's a problem, take a look at what's going on for 10 seconds, then leave, and then give you an inflated estimate to repair something that you probably can't afford with the first day available to fix it 3 weeks out. Three Cousins have never done anything like that, it's honestly like dealing with friends - I can text them, they'll swing by within a day, give me a (free) estimate since they're not a$$holes, give a fair quote, and fix the issue within a couple days. I was contacted to schedule my pool opening. The opening was confirmed. Then, I received an email from a company I did not know, confirming my opening for a totally different day without any time. It would have been nice if Three cousins had even called or texted to let me know they were not in business anymore, giving me the option to continue with this new company or not. Based on the yelps we saw here, we decided to try Three Cousins for pool service. We scheduled an appointment over a week in advance, but they couldn't give the time of the appointment until the morning of the day of the appointment. They let us know at 9 am, that they would be there at 2 pm. I arranged to get time off work to come and meet them, but it wasn't until after 2 that they called and said that it would be about an hour and a half until they get there. So I called in to my job and arranged to just take the rest of the day off rather than go back in the late afternoon. 3:30 rolled around, then 4 pm. They then called saying it would be at least an hour before they could make it out to service the pool. At this point, I'm just too upset to use this company. I lost time and hours off my paycheck, and all for nothing. If they would've called before the appointment to let me know they were running late, or even if they had made the second appointment, I would've been ok, but the communication was horrible, and the disregard for my time was downright insulting. We are first time pool owners and we're looking forward to having them perform regular service on our pool, but I guess we will have to look elsewhere. read more

These guys are great! Last year, my pool was pretty gross at closing and Leslies Pools told me I was going to need a new filter and a bunch of other stuff, but they wouldn't know for sure until they came out to take a look (for $200). Not wanting to be ripped off, I called Three Cousins to get a second opinion. Turns out all I needed was a good vacuuming and some new sand for my filter. James and his crew are good honest people and won't try to take advantage of you. They do the job right, the first time and are just amazing to communicate with. read more

Our last pool service company that we've used for over 17 years came to open pool and then left because there was water on the top of our pool cover. They said we had to pump the water off ourselves (even though they have been handling all these years). Called Three Cousins, they squeezed us into the schedule within a couple of days and opened our pool (removing water on cover) with no issues. I had been with them for 5years I get it sometimes things happens I get it. But enough is enough. Hands down the worst pool company I have ever encountered! Three Cousins was hired this year to service the pool at a home that we rent, and both their service and level of professionalism has been horrific. When they first opened the pool, it remained green and cloudy for 4 weeks. Rather than really address the situation, once a week they would just pour in more chemicals, scratch their heads and tell us that eventually it would start to clear-up. A MONTH later it finally did, but only after they finally vacuumed it and told us a new pump was needed. The weekly servicing is even more ludicrous. Their men show up for 3-5 minutes (on record thanks to security cameras), empty the filter basket and throw in some chlorine tabs....and more shock. Not surprisingly there is debris at the bottom the pool and it's green & cloudy (again!) The company does not have a service line and the owner asks you to text him which he respond to if/when he feels like it. You get what you pay for with this company. read more

Excellent customer service! Called them on Saturday- spoke with Sean. Sean's cousin James serviced my pool that Monday. Fixed the problem in less then 30 min. And very reasonably priced. Made several calls to the "well known pool companies". Never heard back from one. The other was booked until mid July! Is it realistic that someone that needs a pool serviced is going to wait until mid July? Seriously?? Three cousins now has me as a customer for opening and closings! And for any other things that may come up in the pool season! Thank you guys so very much!!! Dealing with corporate pool services, I finally had enough. I was tired of being treated like a price tag. Then I came across Three Cousins, genuine and honest hard working men. They answered all my questions and gave estimates free of charge. They took there time to come to my house and talk face to face. I felt like I was being helped instead of being taken advantage of. I really wanted to believe that I found a great pool maintenance company based on reviews. However, I'm sad to say that I was wrong. And, I have a very hard time believing the positive reviews based on our experience in the past 4 weeks. The first 2 weeks, the pool boy came, cleaned for less than 12 mins and left. He never checked chemistry, he didn't backwash as I was watching him from the patio door and cameras and he didn't even check PH levels or salt levels. The 3rd week, when salt levels went below 2800, I got worried, especially since we've had company almost daily and lots of kids in the pool. I asked the woman that answers the calls to please ask the pool guy to add salt and to check chemistry. I even offered to send a security camera video that showed the guy was there for less than 12 mins. I also asked to add chlorine. I have texts that show this communication and she promised that she would relay this message. 3rd week, again, our request was not done. Their invoices showed only cleaning. Nothing else added. My husband then called twice and was promised that on 4th week, our requests would be done. I mean we didn't ask for much. Just add salt and chlorine! How hard is that to do? 4th week comes along, guy comes. I come outside and nicely ask, did you talk to the lady in your office? did she relay our messages to you? He states no. I then ask to please add salt/chlorine. My husband also calls and asks that they please check for this everytime and what does the company do? They state that "it's not working out". You bet it's not working out, cuz you guys have NO idea what you are doing. If someone gets sick from swimming in my pool, you will be the ones responsible. So hasta la vista Two thumbs down. read more
