Here for a tasting and lunch!
    Laura M.

We had a great tasting and lunch here! Our host was lovely - super knowledgeable on the wines, answered all of our questions, and didn't rush us at all. We were outside (it was pretty warm for end of November), and sat at a lovely table outside. We had the lunch option with our tasting - and the food was wonderful. We started with a salad, and the dressing was wonderful - nice and bright/citrusy with mixed greens. Then we had empanadas - which I'm normally not a huge fan of, however they were absolutely delicious. Then we each had our own skillet of meatballs with fresh cheese on top, which was really good. The wines were all really good - highly recommend a tasting here and get the lunch pairing!

I loved the Chardonnay and look forward to having more. The gardens are beautiful even on this stormy day.

If you have the chance, 100% visit Dakota Shy! We had the best experience and the best WINE (Cab Sav) at Dakota Shy! We sat with Alisha in a beautiful outdoor / indoor private room while she gave us exceptional knowledge about the wines, the winery, the owners and all about Napa! She was fantastic, we weren't rushed in any way, we thoroughly enjoyed our time, if we didn't have to be at another tasting we could have sat there all day! Thank you Dakota Shy for making our anniversary trip and our first time wine tasting, & our first Napa visit one to remember!

Visit date: 03/06/2021 Peyton! Peyton! Peyton! For me Wine is not all just about wine it's also about the experience. And it comes mostly from the vineyard views, sommelier, and the stories they share while they pour the wine. This place has it all. This is one of the hidden treasures in Napa. Peyton our wine Steward is such an amazing person. He just did not bring his wine experience to the table but also as part of our casual conversations. Made us feel completely comfortable without bothering us at all. Peyton gave us ample time to enjoy the property while we were enjoying the wine and our conversations soaking under the sun by the pool COVID Restriction: The place is open for outdoor wine tasting. The table can fit more than 12 people. I visited this vineyard with 6 of my friends. Staff always wearing masks. Sanitizers offered on request. Reservations required ahead of time. Outdoor seating: The outdoor seating was so cozy with a short walk from the woods. Guests are also welcomed to walk anywhere on the property. DO NOT miss the outdoor pool while wine tasting and also we were lucky to taste some of the fresh Kumquat fruits from the plant by the pool. One small suggestion: if they can offer any snack to pair it with wine that would be perfect. I would totally recommend this place and I would love to visit this place again.

Love Dakota Shy. Small batch winery. Great wine, great people, great venue. Their cab franc is the best.

Dakota Shy's tasting room is wonderful and oh so comfortable!

There are two reasons I give Dakota Shy five stars here. First because the wines of Dakota Shy are among our very favorite of all. Second because the visit there is a terrific experience. RESERVATIONS REQUIRED so make one because this will become a favorite stop in the future. The facility is new and a beautiful mix of Napa Valley touched by the beauty of the West. The tasting room is refined, but extremely comfortable as is the entire atmosphere of Dakota Shy. There is a wonderful sense of genuineness in everything Dakota Shy does from their grounds, facilities, staff, to of course their wines, which are truly world-class! We were lucky to be there on a day they were working in the winery and got to take a bit of a barrel tasting of their current vintage. Spectacular in barrel, this promises to be an award winning vintage for Dakota Shy we believe! Everyone is super knowledgeable and welcoming. We loved learning more about the history of one of our very favorite wineries and wines. Plus there is something special about walking around where your favorite wines originate. A true up and coming star of Napa Valley!

I am a white wine connoisseur because of my dietary restrictions with most ingredients in red wines, especially cherries and plum, that trigger my stomach pain and headaches. I have missed enjoying red wine because of this. I was hoping and praying that when my friends who are members of PEJU planned this wine tasting treat, that my stomach and head would be fine and to my surprise, my palate, tongue, stomach and heart were pleased with the Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Fifty/Fifty, and more, including reserve reds Todd served and educated us about! I have NEVER enjoyed red wines like these I tasted at PEJU. Since the time of our outstanding wine tasting experience, I have recommended and raved about Todd and PEJU winery to friends and family who appreciate and value high quality wines and winery experiences. It felt like a vacation getaway being in the tasting room building, admiring the breathtaking stained glass art, all of the art inside and the beautiful art and nature views outside. I appreciate the PEJU staff and management team who welcomed us and were kind to us all the way to the end of our wine tasting experience when we left. This is the kind of treatment that makes us want to return. Napa is a special place for friends, family, and me, and PEJU is now an indelible memory in my Napa adventures! Todd clearly enjoys his important professional position, is passionate about wine and the wine experience, and brings so much joy to customers! I can't recommend him and PEJU enough! Todd went above and beyond to give us a VIP experience and even gave me a bag full of wine corks for my art project after I told him about this and asked for some of their wine corks we saw lined up in their wine uncorking and pouring area. Thank you, Todd!

The grounds are gorgeous inside and out, and I really enjoyed the stained glass, large open windows, and the statues and the koi pond area outside. The service was extraordinary, and I had a great time learning a bit about the different wines PEJU offers from Joseph. I tried quite a few different wines, and really liked how there are a few unique offerings here that you can't find elsewhere - I ended up getting a bottle of their Province, the Farm, and their late harvest orange muscat. PEJU is also one of the few wineries with a permit to serve food. If I had known ahead of time, I would've planned to eat here! The rilettes were super tempting, but Joseph advised that if I was planning to eat a meal afterward to stick to the chips and dip - this ended up being quite a generous portion as well, and I really enjoyed the goat cheese truffle dip alongside the wine tasting :) Overall, PEJU is definitely a beautiful winery to visit with excellent service, and I'll definitely be back!

Easy to find, beautiful from the road in, and exactly what you picture when you think Napa. The whites and reds are all worth trying. Each one tastes distinct, and the flagship bottles run $44 to $125, so not cheap, but fair for wines this good. Membership is the real draw. Members get full tastings plus a food menu for themselves and two guests, which we lean on every time we pick up wine. The grounds are stunning. Plenty of tables across the property, including quiet, secluded spots for a real conversation. The member experience runs about 1.5 hours, which is plenty. The food held up too. Tomato arancini with basil aioli, bruschetta, roasted olives, marcona almonds, hummus with crispy pita, sourdough with oil and balsamic. The arancini was the best bite of the spread, crisp outside, creamy in the middle, with the basil aioli pulling it together. Staff have been friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful on every visit. A few notes: tastings cap around 6 to 8 per party, specialty experiences like the Cambium vertical are discounted for members rather than free, and your membership carries over to their sister property, St. Francis in Sonoma. Plenty of parking and EV charging. Go as a member if possible.

We were seated in a nice alcove with a living wall. It was a bit chilly for a late spring/early summer day but I really appreciated that they had blankets for us too! A really nice touch. The space feels very inviting, like a luxurious backyard garden! Steve took great care of us, very nice gentleman who went through the history of the vineyard and the family behind the tasty wines. The winery does not have food though, so it might be a good idea to eat before heading there if you're hungry. It was also a really nice touch that they gave us the wine glasses as a souvenir and applied the tasting fee towards a purchase (which is not hard since everything is so tasty!). Each shaded nook invites you to pause, unwind, and take in the surrounding greenery before stepping inside. Our group of six adults and one very content 10-month-old (we called ahead to be sure he was welcome)--settled in effortlessly and were rewarded with an experience that felt both relaxed and refined. We chose the veranda, where the view opened onto a lush garden alive with movement. Between sips, we caught glimpses of hummingbirds darting like jewels, butterflies drifting lazily, and even the occasional chipmunk making a curious appearance. Our hostess guided us through the $50 tasting with warmth and expertise, bringing each of the five wines to life with just the right balance of knowledge and ease. Every pour impressed--distinct, expressive, and genuinely enjoyable. And the thoughtful touch of applying the tasting fee toward bottle purchases? That sealed the deal. Each couple left with at least two bottles in hand--a testament to both the quality of the wine and the smart, guest-friendly approach. Inside, a wall of glass reveals rows upon rows of barrels stretching into the distance, a quiet reminder of the craftsmanship behind every glass. You can wander through this space via the gift shop, adding another layer to the experience. A place that manages to feel both elevated and welcoming--I'd return without hesitation. I highly recommend this winery.

They've only been there for a year I believe, but from the outside to the inside, everything is purposely selected and placed. And the bathroom! Yes you read that right, the bathroom is impressive. Probably what stuck out to me the most was the wine glasses used for the flight tasting. These glasses are exquisite. While I don't remember the exact dollar figure, they use German glassware that was 100 a pop, and each glass was selected based on enhancing which wine was being tasted. The first glass on the left was what we started with, which was a white, and as you go toward the right you transition into the bulbous fishbowl type glassware typically used to drink reds. The flight tasting was 75 which is pricey, and their flagship red is quite expensive in my opinion. However, you like what you like and if you enjoy it then it's meant for you.
