We ordered 4 pastas, and waited maybe 5 minutes to get our food. There's seating outside by the window, but we took our pastas, walked about 50 feet, and ate by the steps for gondola rides. SO on google maps, if you are NOT going in the right direction to begin with, it is very very difficult to find anything... It took us about a good hour and a half to find this little gem. It is very close to the main St Mark's Square but you just gotta know where you're going, or ask the right people who might know of this place. We finally saw some folks sitting along the bridges with their take away boxes and knew we were going in the right area. The pesto penne was my ultimate favorite - to die for! We also had the bolognese, and third a calamari one in black sauce -- don't be afraid of the black sauce! Amazing. After getting off the plane, on a boat, into a hotel, and then wandering around Venice for a few hours, it was time to find something to eat. We did our usual thing of walking past numerous perfectly serviceable eateries, looking at the menus, and then continuing to wander because we are indecisive. After wending our way through many streets, we happened to pass a crowded window and people standing around with pasta-filled white-paper takeaway boxes. We shoved some euros at our youngest sister and she came back with a box of something with chopped fresh tomatoes and a box of creamy pesto. It was so good that we came back the next day and got another box of creamy pesto and a box of bolognese. The price per box was €7, and the three of us were comfortably full afterwards. You want super fresh pasta, delicious sauces, great cheese, and easily for under 8 euro? This is definitely the place to go. There is no seating space--you take your pasta and you wander the streets of Venice happily eating out of your equivalent of a Chinese take-out box filled to the brim with deliciousness. I believe the store owner seasonally changes out the sauces and pastas. You choose the sauce you want and any extras (ham or chicken sausage, mozzarella or parmesan cheese, etc.), and the guy (or one of his helpers) gives you a box with his noodles of choice, topped with the freshest of ingredients. Take whatever the man gives you. It will be great, I promise. I tried the pesto (AMAZING, but very rich, so get it to share!), the Mamma Rossa (pink sauce, lighter but still incredible), and the spicy Marinara (yumyumyumm just the right amount of kick). Seriously though, whatever you pick will be amazing. SO GOOD, definitely go. It's pretty close to St. Mark's Piazza, so walk towards there and enjoy! A fantastic eat-out place in Venice! We dropped by this place near St. Mark's Square and went inside to grab some pasta - Rigatoni with Mushrooms for 7 euros. Within a few minutes, we received our food in a to-go box and we walked to one of the canals nearby to have dinner. The pasta is sooo fresh and I specifically loved the mushrooms. Awesome find. We got lost at least 100 times, and even google maps was having a hard time navigating, but we didn't give up. When we were less than 100 meters away, we found people eating from to-go containers and asked them to point us in the right direction. Once we found the place, it was all worth it! I ordered the 4 cheese linguine, and oh my god was it not the best cheese pasta I'd ever tried!? And I include my mother's homemade cheese pasta in that statement. (Sorry mom!) The pasta was very cheesy, but without being overdone. And It was creamy and salty and perfect, and it was inexpensive which is a huge plus! And the owner, such a nice guy! Amazinggggggggg find in Venice! Cheap but fresh pasta with an even friendlier staff. They really cater to tourist-ridden Venice with their menu in a number of different languages on small tv screens. The staff make you feel welcome and they'll try talking to you in your native language and joke around with you and send you a million compliments. But cute name I guess? Instead, I ordered #3 (sorry, I forgot what it was called - but it was another pasta with a V) with the fettuccini pasta. It was fulllll of olives and absolutely delicious! I thought it would be too salty, as most european foods are to my taste buds, but it actually wasn't all that bad. There were chunks of tomatoes in the sauce (which I love!) and slices of green olives atop the pasta. Just writing about it makes me want more. It comes in a cute to-go box and there really isn't anywhere to sit in the "restaurant." But if you go out and to the right and make a left, you'll find a short bridge where you can sit and enjoy your meal. There are lots of gondolas floating by so it's more than likely that you'll catch some free music. A true Venetian experience! And going off of that, it's pretty hard to find. But what ISNT hard to find in Venice? We only got lucky because we were right at the corner of Alfredo's and struggling to find it when a grandpa walked by and heard me talking about a restaurant on tripadvisor. He took a wild guess and asked if we were looking for Alfredo's! Apparently he'd been to this place six times already - at least for one meal a day! Venice has a lot of pasta. There is pasta everywhere. This shouldn't really be that surprising because it is Italy and Italy = pasta, but it still should be noted. Venice is also a tourist city, so when coming here being able to get pasta that isn't expensive is a blessing. It's hard to describe how I feel about Dal Moro's. It's good, freshly made pasta in a take-out box for 5 Euros. It is a good deal in a city in dire need of them. I sort of feel bad that you won't be getting a long essay out of me from this. It isn't a food stop that lends itself to that style. Friendly people, quick and cheap food, could maybe use a little bit more flavor but plenty of options to add it to the pasta. I came here after reading the reviews on Yelp. Yelpers, you did not do me wrong! The pasta was so fresh and the sauce was just so delicious. My favorite pasta was the rigatoni (or something that looked like it) each box of pasta is about $6 to $7 euros and you choose your pasta and sauce. I just went with #1, pasta with prusciutto and cream sauce and #6, tAglielli pasta with delicious spicy red sauce. The owner, Gabriel, was super nice and wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meals. After my partner and I got to Venice and looked at the Doge palace we were tired, it was later, we couldn't get a reservation anywhere good. We just were not in the mood to be dodging tourist traps flinging menus in your face and trying to find the least touristy pasta place. Yelp pointed us to this little gem and what a gem it is! First off, it's very hard to find. More so than most things in Venice, there isn't an obvious sign. It's just a door. You have to know what you're looking for. The owner (?) was EXTREMELY cheerful and welcoming (and spoke perfect English) and made us some recommendations. We both wound up with the pesto, which was extremely good. The pasta is very fresh and the sauce hearty and filling. You can't sit anywhere, but there's a little bar you can stand at and eat. This is truly a special little place in Venice!
