What a special place! I went with some friends, celebrating birthdays. One friend had gone there on her wedding day with her husband over 60 years ago. So it's been there a long time. After your car is valet, parked, you are greeted and shown inside to a lovely space. The waiters must work at night as comedians. They are all funny and charming! Linen and silver and crystal are on the table. You may have to wait a few extra minutes for the food because it is so special cooked for you. This is my favorite steakhouse ever!!. The food and service is always amazing!. NOT today. I think today was one of those off days where the service was not as good as it has always been. So, we tipped accordingly based on the service we received. However we were confronted by our waitress (Sonia) about our tip? We hardly saw Sonia throughout the night. We had to summons out different wait staff to get a drink/other things etc. She never came to check up on us and at one point we waited almost 20min for her to ask us if we needed another drink. I understand it was a busy time. But we were also customers and needed to be checked up on. She finally came to check on us after (I guess) all her other patrons were gone! We felt as if we were not important to as other patrons. What was unacceptable was the fact that she came to us and insisted that the tip was not sufficient by asking us why we did not circle the, 18%, 20% or the 22% típ values? Dohhh??? Sonia, tips are a suggestive amount, and not an absolute value. First time here and I left very impressed. I can see why this place is so popular. Came here to celebrate my birthday with some friends. Started off with a drink at the bar. A delicious grey goose cosmopolitan while I waited for everyone to arrive. Once everyone arrived, we were seated in a gorgeous room with plenty of room. We started off with a wedge of iceberg salad. I always ask for mine chopped. Much easier to eat. Highly recommend this salad. It is a simple salad, but full of flavor. Paired with a rosé champagne and bread basket was simply a divine start. For my entree, I'm a sucker for chimichurri so I opted for the prime wagyu flat iron steak. It was delicious and enjoyed how my steak was cooked to perfection. For dessert we ordered strawberries loaded with Grand Marnier. Let me just say that it's one of those desserts you can't put down. Highly recommend. Service was excellent. I've only had the pleasure of eating at Dal Rae's once, but WOW, it sure left a great impression! First of all, thank you to Jackie, who was our wonderful server. She was on top of it and has a great sense of humor - my friend group loves to crack jokes. Second, be prepared for how DARK it is in there. It took a while for our eyes to adjust haha! Not super important to note, but we were so surprised by the literal day to night shift there was after waiting outside. Our group made a reservation beforehand and walked in right when they opened. There was already a group waiting outside to be seated so I assume this place gets popular and might be hard to get a table during rush hour. Meh. Nothing special. Overpriced IMO. We went for my birthday on a Wednesday night because I turned 60 and have always wanted to go there. First, the hostesses weren't very friendly. For the prices you're paying all staff should be top notch. The tables are packed so close to each other that getting to the bathroom was like going through a maze. I couldn't back up my chair without being in the lap of the guy at the table behind me. It was very awkward. The sourdough bread was very good, but we had it without butter because they give you a half frozen quarter stick of butter. Fine dining should have room temp butter. The food was good, no complaints. I got prime rib and the kids shared a tomahawk. We also got the table side Caesar salad which came with cheese garlic bread. That was the hit of the evening. Steven was very professional and friendly (manager, who made the salad) My granddaughters meal was supposed to get milk, fries and a sundae. We got none of that but didn't realize it until we got home. They did bring out a chocolate cake (I think it was supposed to be a lava cake, but no "lava" and extremely hot) and sung happy birthday. What can be said about a family legacy restaurant that NEVER disappoints. The best Oysters Rockefeller in Los Angeles. Traditional relish trays with everything iced and extra crispy. A bread basket that leaves you wanting more and old school garlic bread with just enough garlic and lots of butter. Every steak I've ever had cooked to perfection. The table side prepared Ceasar salad is enough for two as are most steaks. Who doesn't love a loaded baked potatoe? They also have a few entrees that you would only find on a traditional menu. The Dal Rae is always a treat. If you've never been, go now. If it's been a while, go visit an old friend. If you are like me, you are there enough to be a recognized face. Hmmm...reservations at 7:30, sitting here it's 9:26 pm and dinner hasn't arrived yet. I sure hope the Alaskan King Crab and my rib eye is awesome!!! Oh! Just arrived at 9:27 pm. To be fair, we did enjoy some appetizers first-Oysters Rockefeller, steamed clams, baked scallops, and Calamari. All good! But then we had to wait for dinner while the people next to us who arrived after us got their dinner before us. My husband had to let our server, Derek know. When it finally arrived, it was delicious! Although I couldn't eat very much since we ate appetizers and I don't usually eat dinner late. However, the prime rib was perfectly cooked and rare to my liking. Garlic mashed potatoes were very garlicky! Also good. Crab legs were huge! I've lived in pico Rivera just about my entire life and have seen this place driving by but never had a reason to go. Until this past New Year's Eve where my boyfriend and I decided to stay local for the holiday and have a nice dinner. We made reservations ahead of time just to make sure we had a seat. Our reservation was at 7:30pm and as soon as we walked in to check in we saw how busy it was so we got seated around 8:05pm. Not a big deal we were totally understanding. We ordered half a dozen of oysters to start off with. To be quite honest out of everything we felt the oysters were the least of our favorites. We had clam chowder soup to start off our 3-course meal, followed by steaks with a baked potato, followed by dessert. I got the crème brûlée and my boyfriend got the lemon tart. The crème brûlée was our favorite but lemon tart tasted a little too egg-y for my liking. Service was 10/10. Wish I remembered our waitress's name, she was so sweet. The decor inside was really cute with an old vintage/school steak house touch. The lighting at some point was a little dimmer than what it was beginning of the night making it even more of a romantic setting. Valet was quick and efficient + very friendly! Dal Rae is an iconic and legendary restaurant with first class food and service. We went there on a Friday night and went to the bar room. Their live music is always a nice feature at the weekend. They recently brought in a very talented and dynamic entertainer, Mike Parlett. He plays different instruments including sax, flute, bass, guitar, harmonica and a weird looking electric sax. He can sing great and play just about any song we asked for. Lots of fun! The staff are always wonderful and our server Sonya was attentive and friendly and we didn't have to wait too long for our food and drinks. We will be coming back soon! read more

The complimentary bread at the tables was delicious but very filling; if you want dessert, lay off the bread. The jumbo prawn cocktail was great; huge prawns. Not a fan of 3 prawns, 4 would make more sense. The Caesar salad was good, just standard fare. The prime new york with bacon topping was delicious; perfectly cooked and the seasoning was great. Scallop potato sides were perfectly cooked also, but, a bit too much garlic for my liking. This was not my first visit to Dal Rae but this is my first time writing a review of it. First off, it's a fantastic restaurant. Their staff is absolutely top notch, so they get very high marks for the service. Inside the restaurant has an old school steak house vibe and they nail that aesthetic 100%. The decorations during the holiday season are very nice as well. Food is always very high quality, from the bread to the table side Caesar salad to the steaks and even dessert (Banana Flambé awesome). The drinks are also very good, I really enjoyed their house old fashioned. All of these things of course end up being reflected on your final bill which is certainly on the high side but you get what you pay for. Ultimately that's the only thing that keeps me from giving five stars is that the cost is prohibitive, at least for me, to being able to afford enjoying this wonderful restaurant more frequently. read more

Del Rae Restaurant in Pico Rivera is a true gem. my grandfather used to bring my grandmother here every year for their anniversary. I recently celebrated my mother's 66th birthday here, and it was fantastic. The surf and turf, steak, and lobster were cooked perfectly, and the presentation was lovely. Dal Rae is an old school, fine dining establishment that is really traditional in the best way. It was very busy when we arrived on a Sunday evening for a 7pm reservation but had mostly emptied out within the hour so it seems like an earlier crowd. The service was great -- waters were never empty, and our order was taken promptly. They proactively offered to split the entrees were ordered across our plates so we could share -- so I split the steak and veal parmesan with my husband. The tableside caesar for two was more than enough for four of us! It was delicious, fresh, and fun to watch the preparation. The bananas flambe also were easy to split and they each gave us a full bowl of ice cream to pair with the bananas, even though it was only intended for two. There was both complimentary bread and garlic bread for the table - both of which were delicious. In terms of entrees themselves, we loved the veal, but the pepper steak wasn't exactly my cup of tea -- I think I would just order a regular steak next time around. I should have wrote this review the moment I left Dal Rae so that I could have given credit where credits was due but I fell into a good coma! My bf and I randomly came here last Saturday around 5pm purely from the Instagram photos my gf Brianna would post on Instagram from time to time from her visits. Our waitress was incredible! She knows her stuff and she made excellent suggestions the whole night. I starting with the Ahi Sashimi on Toast which was so wonderful, we moved onto the main dishes, for myself a Chilean Sea Bass and for him the Veal Chop. It was all truly so delicious! I'm salivating as I type this review! We shouldn't have but we ordered the butter cake! It's a beautiful thing, incredibly indulgent.. after that it was all a blur.
