My wife and I had a great dining experience as we stopped here for an unlimited salad bar lunch. The manager who was working double duty as the cashier was very friendly, welcoming, and professional. Our waiter, Julio, was very polite, hardworking, and had a great attitude. The salad bar, which was smaller than most Sizzler restaurants we have visited but just as good, offered many hot and cold options. Each item I had was fresh, crisp, and delicious. A female employee was observed restocking the salad bar numerous times during our visit. We found a parking spot conveniently located mere feet from the front door; however, the parking lot is rather small, which can pose a challenge during busy business hours. Hubby and I were on our way home from LA and we it was like 2:30 pm and we were looking for a lunch spot and I yelped this sizzler location. This is the best sizzler ever ! It's hard to find a sizzler restaurant nowadays. The building looks new and modern and they had a senior salad buffet Lunch with drink for like under $15 dollars until 4 pm week days ! Whew ! I was impressed of friendly service and the meal included cheese toast and the soft serve dessert bar ! I took a few photos, but honestly hubby and I were really hungry since we only had coffee for breakfast. They had chicken noodle soup and clam chowder. A server will come to bring you cheese toast and your dish (if you did not order from the salad bar). The place is clean and there was only 1 server, it seemed to be a bit short staffed. I used to work nearby and the salad bar here was a regular lunch choice for my co workers...Well sad to report that 8 years later, this Sizzler has gone downhill. The salad bar is okay but the steak and shrimp are sooo bad. I ordered a medium steak but I got a weird piece that was thick on the ends and thin in the middle so my steak was welldone, medium well, medium, and medium rare all at once. This is my home Sizzler! I love Sizzy so much! We used to go to Sizzler (not this one) when I was a kid and it was considered a "nice" meal out. I remember their Sunday all-you-can-eat brunches, and they had an omelet station. That fascinated me as a kid. How did they flip the egg so perfectly? My go-to is the Malibu Chicken. There is something about the sauce that just sort of...brings back all the nostalgia for me. They did, however, change the rice pilaf and now put way too much green onions in it (when before, it was just rice and the bigger brown grains of whatsit). And the cheese toast always completes the meal, along with a trip to the salad bar. They keep changing the menu though. It used to be that you could get a side (rice pilaf for me) AND a one-time trip to the salad bar, but they've changed it now, and at the time of this writing, they are charging $8 on top of a meal for your unlimited salad bar add-on. Service is SO nice. There is a server there and he is always super friendly. The last time we went, we also had a fancy birthday cake in tow. My partner had called beforehand and asked them to reserve a larger table for us, and they took care of the cake as soon as we got there (after stressing that they would not be liable should anything happen to the cake). Every couple years you get a little craving for sizzler and it's the same as I remember. Ok first of all this is a parking lot from hell. 10/10 recommend street parking or peeking first because if you have to back up and you have a larger car you're screwed. I hadn't been to this sizzler for about 10 years. Decided to go have dinner with the family on a Sunday evening. We chose sizzler but boy did we make terrible mistake. First off there were two men at the register one of which was helping all the customers and the other who just stood there staring. When asked if he would assist us he said the other person would be right with us, in which he turned around and started folding napkins. Secondly, we go sit down and get our drinks, the fountain drinks were all watered down, the syrups needed to be changed as everything tasted like water but the employees stood in the kitchen on their phones. No one seemed to care. I had ordered the "unlimited salad bar" which was a joke! They had very few items to choose from and besides the salad, there was clam chowder and menudo. I didn't remember it to be that way. I remembered a lot more options. The rear of my family had ordered meals but that took about 40 mins to arrive, again god forbid the employees get off the phones. Literally where we sat we could see the kitchen, in which the employees stood there on their phones. Once the food came out I asked for ketchup twice, it never came. I ended up asking another family at another table if we could bother them for their ketchup bottle. Lastly, I found hair on one of my salads. It was so gross, it was tangled into the salad which I hadn't seen, so yeup into my mouth it went. So gross. This Saturday when we went unfortunately me and my husband both got sick this time I'm assuming from the salad bar, to top it off we tried ordering from the kids menu for our very tall 10 year old. ( I'm 5'7 and my husband is 6'3 ) so we get that a lot with her, my poor child. The manager didn't even ask how old our daughter was she literally just assumed she asked us how many in our party and we said 3 (obviously the 3 standing in front of her) and she said unfortunately for the kids menu the child needs to be 10 or under lol we made a pact to never ever argue at restaurants it's a rule we made to each other for people to NOT spit in our food so we said ok give us the hamburger from the adult menu lol but she didn't ask. There are 2 reasons for this review. The BEST customer service I've had in awhile, and THE WORST. In a single visit I had the sour faced server accidentally stomp on my foot and not apologize, accuse me of theft for being rung up incorrectly, and then intentionally ignored my table despite serving the table adjacent to mine ; passing by me while nearly grazing my elbow she was so close but still not acknowledging us. This journey started with me craving clam Chowder. I loooove Sizzler's clam chowder. So my boyfriend and I arrived nice and early Sunday morning before the church grannies. We get there, I paid (Asked for 2 salad bars/2 drinks). We sit down and the brassy haired server emerged to get our ticket; as she approached us menacingly she accidentally stepped on my foot which was under the table. How she did that? I can't say, evil finds a way I guess... instead of the appropriate "oh I'm sorry" she cackled "Did I step on someone?" Then proceeded to laugh it off. She looks at our ticket then She noticed the error before we did. Only 1 salad bar and 2 drinks were charged. She then proceeded to make it a bigger deal than it needed to be because of course we didn't ring it up ourselves. My boyfriend goes over to pay once again and the nice man who originally rang up comped it as an apology. He then came to the table and joked with us, he was genuinely so friendly. The joy we felt never seeing that lady again though, the male server cleared our table as our plates piled up from being unattended and we had a few more nice interactions with him until we left. read more

My husband and I went and had lunch because we enjoy the salad bar and I have to say it was the worst experience we have had since sizzler reopened up four years ago the glass above the salad bar from all the moisture was dripping down into the salads so at the bottom of the salad bowls, it was full of dirty water Which was really disgusting, and then I went to go get some spaghetti and that was so burnt and fried to the side of the container it was in you couldn't even grab any of it, and the meatballs were burnt and so was the sauce and there was nobody replenishing anything there. The service was very shorthanded. There was only one waiter that was back-and-forth throughout the whole restaurant while we were there and a lot of people were complaining, but he was excellent. He was doing his best to accommodate everybody. There were a lot of dirty tables because they didn't have anybody busing the tables. It was the worst experience. I know myself unless it totally improves. I will never go back. I rather drive the distance to West Covina or to another location to have a good lunch or dinner. read more

On our drive back from the LA area we decided to jump out of the traffic infested freeway to get dinner. Stumbled upon this Sizzler in Montebello because of the familiar menu, and our love for the cheese bread. We were greeted by the manager who was super friendly. It was early dinner, around 4, so seating wasn't an issue. The restaurant was super clean and the salad bar was self-service on the plates (so we didn't need a server to get us clean plates). My steak and Malibu chicken were on point, and my baked potato was perfectly stuffed with all the fixings. Overall, a great visit and delicious dinner. We came to celebrate a family member's birthday and we're immediately accommodated as we're were a party of 10. The staff and our severs were attentive, polite, and just great even though the restaurant was busy since it was a Sat night. Now for the food, you can't go wrong with any entree here. All their food is prepared at a high standard with quality ingredients. My favorite is the Malibu Chicken and it was cooked to perfection bursting with flavors. Everything needs improvement. The cashier took down our beverages and orders wrong. The establishment RAN OUT of thousand island dressing and even coke. Such basic items. The servers took more than 10-15 minutes to get to our table ONLY AFTER I got a manager. As of December. Another price hike. Salad bar price is now $16.79 from $15.99 just 2 months ago. I think since I've been here, I've seen at least 3 hikes in this year alone. Lunch salad bar had always been great, you get the usual waiters who are always pleasant and remembers the regulars. Tonight however, first time dining here for dinner. We got here around 7:30pm, and sat down just before 8pm. Friday they close at 9:30. Welp... They didn't restock any of the premade salads, nor the chicken wings. The only items being restocked were the salad toppings. Our server was virtually non existent. What else do they have the servers doing? The place was maybe half full but our server was no where to be seen majority of the time. My steak was dry and tough. I was hesitant getting medium rare cuz this isn't a steakhouse but flavors were surprisingly good! Just they cooked it well done so it was tough to eat. Their so called "jumbo shrimp" was merely a butterflied 26-30 shrimp. I absolutely do not classify that as jumbo. But at least it was well breaded and fried. We were welcomed by a friendly server named Moises. He has a wonderful personality, so much so that my cousin and I plan to ask for him by name next time we go to Sizzlers. He provided service with a smile and made us feel very welcomed. Our very delicious meals were brought to us in a timely manner & cooked to perfection. I had the steak & jumbo shrimp with a baked potato and a side salad. I also ordered the Mango lemonade...a little on the sweet side but I added some water and it was perfect. It was quite packed since it was lunch. However, the service was top notch. Their servers Julio and our server Lisa was beyond amazing. Very friendly person and easy going. We kept asking for a lot and she never gave attitude. I really love when the costumer service is elite! The ambiance was perfect. Very modern clean, and very spacious seating areas. It's not a dead vibe this location seems popular and I see the reason why. In a nutshell, I'll be back here for sure. They have chopped eggs, diced beets, diced ham, cherry tomatoes, red onions, olives, blue cheese crumbs, sliced mushrooms, broccoli and many more items. 6 kinds of salad dressing. On the other side they have caesar salad, seafood salad, macaroni salad, pudding, jello, cheesecake dessert and fruit. Orange chicken, fried chicken wings and potato wedges. A Taco Bar, always 3 kinds of soup. So why 3 Stars? This is where it starts going downhill. I was sitting near the soda machine. I saw someone get too much ice and 4 cubes dropped on the floor. Some genius put a wet floor caution sign near the ice. 20 minutes later the ice melted into a small puddle. Minus 1 Star. The caution sign is placed near the entrance of the kitchen where the server's came in and out and have to sidestep the sign. Why don't someone get a few napkins and swipe up the water? Well another 10 minutes later someone with half a brain mopped up the puddle, but left the sign in the middle of the kitchen entrance minus another Star. Worst Sizzler restaurant ever in our 45 years of frequenting otherwise great locations. The waiter never came by to check up on us during the entire hour we sat at our table. The steak was tougher than shoe leather, still not well done, as ordered. I ordered a baked potato with NO sour cream, but with butter and chives only. The food was served and the potato came with a wad of sour cream! Had to scoop up and discard the sour cream. My wife asked upon paying if they have tartar sauce with her shrimp. My wife and i stopped for late lunch. All booths had dirty dishes. The manager was hiding in her office while nobody was available to take our order. Salad bar was dirty and looked neglected. Not enough waiters or waitresses on staff. No deserts were out even though we paid for them as part of the salad bar.
