After writing a professional business letter acknowledging my mistake, the response was not businesslike, insufficient and bordered on rude, lacking an explanation why the refund requested was short $250. Upon next communication as I believed they still had more of my money, their response was "I won't hold my breath for a letter of apology from you." They included a copy of a statement which alleged this sum had been returned to my bill pay provider. That should have come with the refund they had sent. BUT, THEY CHOSE TO BE RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL INSTEAD. Here's my public apology: I am sorry you are too rude to do business with and will never transfer my business from another oil company to Attleboro Oil & Ice. Partially my loss as well because your service department is outstanding and my current oil company's service department is awful.

However, as soon as you need a maintenance call you learn to why. They have a large staff and come right out when you have a problem. They can handle anything from routine work to replacing the entire boiler and have an excellent plumber on staff as well. They come by once a year for a tune up on the boiler. They monitor oil levels and auto deliver as needed. In 9 years, I have never come close to running out of oil or had to think about it. For everyone shopping solely on price, I recommend you consider how important service is, especially when you need an emergency call.

DuPuis Oil installed my boiler 3 years ago. They sent a technician to clean it upon my request. The…read moretechnician did not do the job correctly. 6 months later (August 12th, 2025) my house filled soot and carbon monoxide. DuPuis send a different technician who said the previous technician did not clean the boiler correctly and he showed me why he said that. He also documented it. DuPuis never billed me for the service on August 12th. On October 27th my boiler didn't start. I called DuPuis and the service manager told me that they won't support my boiler anymore unless I buy their oil. I told them I would find someone else. 3 days later, which was 80 days from the corrective service they did on August 12th, I get a bill. My first bill for this service with net 20 terms. On November 5th they send me a statement that included two months of a late fee, for a bill I didn't even have during that time. The late charges are fraudulent. They did shoddy work on my boiler and after it polluted my house and almost killed me, they want me to pay for them to re-clean and properly adjust my boiler because I wouldn't let them extort me into buying their overpriced oil. On August 12th I would have paid the bill had they presented me an invoice as per usual, but assumed they didn't because their poor work necessitated the August 12 service call. If they were going to bill me with terms of Net 20 for the work they did on August 12th, they should have billed me on August 12th, not 80 days afterwords because I refused to be extorted. For them to charge me late fees for two months I wasn't billed is criminal. They should be audited to see what other unethical business practices they employ.

The previous owners of the house were already using them for propane service, and for the past 5 years, I've been given no reason to switch to a competitor. They come regularly to deliver my propane and leave the bill, I pay the bill, world keeps on spinning. I've only called them a handful of times, but each time, I was greeted warmly; never have I encountered a rude person on the other end of the line. Today, I had a technician over to perform an A/C tune-up. Couldn't have been a nicer guy. He was polite, professional, and got the job done without incident. From what I can tell, my A/C is working great, so mission accomplished. To summarize, while others might have had a negative experience with Propane Plus, I've not once had a problem with their service or their employees. I look forward to doing business with them for many years to come!
