Whenever I'm back in Toronto to visit, I always come to visit daldongnae! Serving sizing is fair and delicious, place is intimate but always a fun time with friends and family! Service is quick but they are busy often! I you daldongnae, miss u already :(

There was a request for Korean BBQ so we checked out this location. The outside is deceiving as it looks like a quiet house, but the moment you walk in, the space is bustling with patrons. They decorated the space with a bunch of antiques and it makes you feel like you are sitting outside eating. For those who actually want to sit outside, there is a patio space in the back. You are required to order a grill dish for each person at the table and each grill dish is around $25. That is before ordering rice or noodles so the bill quickly adds up. I enjoyed the refillable sides, including the steamed egg/kimchi/corn/garlic which cooks at the rim of the grill. Would definitely recommend getting some rice to make lettuce wraps with!

It was seamless to grab a seat midweek evening when I was there. Overall, a thumbs up. As a group of three, we ordered three portions of meat and the Kimchi fried rice, which was the ideal quantity of food for us. Quality delicious BBQ and it reflects in the price. I would've liked more sides to finish my meal, but if you've completed your meat, they stop refilling your banchan/sides. So make sure you preorder your side refills before you finish cooking your meat. Pros: Quality meats, light sauces that compliment the meats well without overpowering, and the sides like cheesy corn, steamed egg and of lettuce to wrap the meat. Love pork belly and you can have it cut thick or thin. The Kimchi fried rice is amazing! Better than what I can make at home. Cons: They only have red meat - ie. different cuts of pork and beef, no chicken and no seafood. However, for vegetarians, they do have a veggie grilling portion. They don't have complimentary Korean green onion salad, which I had in my fav KBBQ restaurant. I love to eat it with grilled meats. Though that one is closed since the pandemic... and not sure if it's something other KBBQ restaurants offer nowadays.

Their best location out of all of them in my opinion! I'm a regular Staff is always nice. and the food is good!!

One of my new favourite Korean BBQ places! Love that there are complementary side dishes on the grill - there's egg, kimchi, cheesy corn, and garlic. You can refill them too. The cheesy corn was my favourite, look at that cheese pull! On top of that there's various complementary small side dishes, soup, and a refillable basket of lettuce to wrap the meat. For the meat, we ordered Pork Jowl Meat, Pork Belly w/ Skin, Beef Short Plate. All of the meat tasted amazing! I like that the meat was not pre-marinated, but instead they give you sauces to dip it in after it's cooked. They've got COVID-19 safety protocols in place including temperature checks when you enter the restaurant, hand sanitizer, and social distancing. You can also enjoy this Korean BBQ out on their beautiful patio, except there just might be some bees flying around...

The food itself here is delicious. Traditional Korean table cooking BBQ with fresh meats and a variety of side dishes make up a pretty amazing culinary experience here. There's quite a bit to choose from but I'd personally recommend the boneless beef rib and kimchi pancake. The staff here are incredible. Friendly, fast and attentive but not intrusive. They usually have no problems accommodating special requests if they're able. I hate tipping culture in general, but at this place I never felt pressured to tip, and I always felt like I wanted to because the service was always great. Location wise there are two that I've been to. The one at Yonge and Steeles (that's the good one) and the one further south of that also on Yonge street which I would avoid like the plague. The other location is dark, uncomfortable and the staff were awful when I was there. If you go to the Yonge and Steeles location you'll be glad you did. Enter the restaurant from the back, near the parking lot. I'm not sure why they don't have a front facing entrance, but if you can't find it, that's where it is.

Oh my gosh the food was incredible! We've been to many Korean BBQ in Toronto/Markham and this place was by far one of the best! The last time I remember having really good Korean bbq meats was when I was in Korea and this place definitely comes close to that experience. Our server was super helpful as it was our first visit, he helped us pick the meats for barbecuing and we went with the two most popular choices which were the pork belly and beef tenderloin. You need to be patient when cooking the pork belly as the meat is very thick. Both the pork and the beef were delicious and absolutely mouthwatering! There was also lots of complimentary dishes which went really well with the bbq meats. I would recommend ordering one meat dish per person. For the three of us, we ordered 3 meats for barbecuing and two side dishes and we were really full and had leftovers to bring home. The side dishes that we got were the stir fried kimchi pork tofu and seafood pancake. Both were good but we really liked the kimchi pork tofu dish which we'll likely order again on our next visit. Overall, we really loved this place and we'll be back very soon!

Tasty, authentic KBBQ for Toronto standards! I find the meat portions to be on the smaller side, but the side dishes are plentiful. The service is usually quite quick and friendly too. Even better than the KBBQ are the kimchi cold noodles! Absolutely the most delightful item on the entire menu. I would return just to order these cold noodles again.

We went back to this location for my birthday. We also tried different mains. Their seafood pancake was so delicious - crispy on the outside and soft in the middle, and it remained crispy throughout the whole meal! And of course, you did some fried rice to go with the bbq. The service remained the same, we consistently received banchan refill when we needed it, and the drinks were good, too. I'm so glad the ambiance, quality of the food, and the service remained consistent since my last visit in May.

Ordered pork belly, beef short ribs and beef short plate, not like last time in Scarborough Daldongnae, this time I liked the short plate the most! Seafood pancake was crispy but can't spot too much seafood , a lot of green onions The service was good and fast , and their backyard patio is open, nice vibes , great for meat lovers like me :)

Got pork belly with skin & pork shoulder butt at this Korean BBQ place. The meats were decent. The decor is cute, like you're sitting at a Korean night market. Pork Kimchi stew was decent. It was sour & spicy (I don't like kimchi). It was also pretty sweet: more sweet than other kimchi stews. It was generous with ingredients. There were 5 banchan plus corn & kimchi in the hot plate. So effectively there were 7. There was egg & garlic too; the egg after a while became like steamed egg Complimentary soy bean soup was good: mainly salty notes with some spicy ones. It was like spicy miso. The rice served here was not white but red rice.

Daldongnae's another one of my favourite places to go for kbbq! It was my first time going to this location. We ordered a few meats. It comes with a lot of sides, tofu stew, and some sauces for dipping. I really liked how our server explained what each side dish was. All the sides are refillable. We also ordered the Korean egg rolls. It was good but I probably wouldn't order it again as one of the sides is already steamed egg. My go to is usually the seafood pancake. There's also parking located behind the building which you can enter through the side street. The parking lot isn't the most obvious but the entrance is connected to the Katsuya parking lot!

Pork belly, beef tenderloin, complimentary side dishes

Always a great experience here! I love the unlimited side dishes. We ordered a hot soup noodle and kimchi pancake as well. Both were really good! I was with a friend who couldn't eat pork, they were able to give us some sesame oil to coat the pan instead. The patio is heated and warm with the grill going. The service was good as well!

Good Brothers…read moreunderstands that barbecue is less a meal than an event, and it stages one with easy conviviality: a table of friends, a few drinks, and a steady procession of skewers arriving as quickly as you can order them. The seasoning is the triumph here. There is spice, confident but never domineering, and real flavour in the meat rather than smoke standing in for it. The skewers are modest in size, which is a virtue: it invites grazing, and it encourages the table to be adventurous. Service is warm and notably brisk, so the rhythm of ordering and eating never falters. If there is a caveat, it is one of appetite arithmetic. Order generously, then order again. A thoroughly good time.

They gave us the table directly in front of the counter where the cashier stays, so I requested a different table which we then had to wait another 10 to 15 minutes for. This is not at all a complaint as it was requested. The service was good but most of the servers didn't really speak English, which I guess is to be expected in Chinatown. I don't have any complaints about that. The food took about 10-15 minutes once ordered. We ordered the Grilled Squid, Grilled Oysters, Beef Ribs, Chicken Thigh Skewers, Bean Curd Rolls w/ Cilantro, Grilled Eggplant and Cauliflower. Pretty much everything was over flavoured and lots of MSG. The beef ribs were quite good. Not the best I've had but good. The chicken skewers were fine. The oysters tasted pretty decent but I only had a couple bites of one because I'm not a huge fan of oysters. The bean curd rolls were fine but they could have been better if they took the time to put just cilantro leaves in there not the whole stems, which made them take forever to chew. The grilled eggplant was good only because I love eggplant, there was waaay too much seasoning for the thin piece of eggplant. The cauliflower was my favourite but again, the seasoning should be toned down. The Grilled Squid we both took one bite of and could immediately tell it was either not fresh or not good quality so we didn't eat it. They removed it from the bill as requested which we appreciated. They had free self serve slushies which was a cute touch. Overall the staff and service was good but the food was below average, which was disappointing given the restaurant's rating.

First to know is you can't pay with credit card here--there's an ATM in the front of the restaurant. As far as the restaurant goes, it was fantastic from start to finish. Our table of 4 was seated and serviced by 1 main staff member, Lydia, who talked us through the whole menu and ordering system, recommended some great starts and then kept us frequently updated all throughout dinner. She checked up on us along with her assistants who were also bringing items and servicing the table. The food quality was excellent with juicy and flavorful cuts of beef along with the shrimp, pork, veggies, side dishes/ponchon, and rice--it kept coming consistently. Grill changes were frequent as well. The atmosphere is lively and there are a lot of servers so you aren't trying get someone's attention all the time.
