Dining room is small and eclectic in the back - hand chairs, a car, lots of 4 seaters - but not good for a boisterous group like us, so we relegated ourselves outside to the pizza shaped tables and benches. The vegan pizza that fell to earth was a winner for my pineapple pizza bbq sauce loving soul (I know that's divisive!) and the dough was not heavy at all! Loved eating my crust! My older daughter loved her pepperoni and garlic masterpiece. Plain cheese (other friend's daughter) was neither a hit nor a miss. French fries were a couple cuts below Red Robin - maybe hotter and less smaller pieces might have been the win on both the sweet potato and regular fries. Sandwiches are huge at the half size and probably could be split or maybe even mixed and matched to get more of an experience of the extensive menu (it was so hard to choose!). The Vegan Eggplant parm with aioli was the winning sandwich, getting rave reviews. The regular eggplant caprese needed something more - a sauce or maybe a better ratio of cheese and tomato to eggplant. Bread was super delicious. We also ordered salads and other pizzas and declared this will be our spot next year. So glad that we were able to find this somewhat hidden spot and that it hit so many high marks for a big family dinner after a day at the beach. Parking also relatively simple to find.

They told me to go to the police headquarters 2 minutes down the road to access a bathroom. 5 minutes into my drive back home, the food (which was placed flat on my car floor) started leaking all over and I had to pull over to try and salvage it...but the thing that really got me was when I called after about 50 minutes when I didn't yet receive a text that the food was ready, someone answered and got nasty with me saying "have you received a text yet?" To which I had to explain to him that the Expected time posted by the toast website (you have to order online, they are only delivery or pick up based now) had passed by about 15 mins and I hadn't received a text. So I wanted to be sure that the order was even received by the establishment. I really didn't appreciate the attitude, especially after I had spent about $60 on 2 items and a lot of time traveling to the area. The menu is amazing, but the convenience and accessibility of getting food here is so difficult that I probably won't be back for some time, unfortunately; thus the 3 stars (food is 5 stars for sure).

I decided to get two smaller dishes to count as my complete meal. First, I had the Chipotle Chicken Chili, which was apparently a recent addition to the menu. I omitted the scoop of sour cream that was supposed to sit on top of the mound of soup, but I did not feel like I was missing anything by doing so. The smoky broth was packed with kidney beans, stewed tomatoes, and chunks of ground chicken. I thought it was delicious, but a bit thin and oily. I also sampled a side of the Sweet and Sour Brussels Sprouts, which were similarly greasy, but crunchy and well-flavored. In fact, they could have used a bit more marinade to really pop. My companion had positive things to say about his burger and fries. We really enjoyed the casual atmosphere, friendly service, and tasty food at the Black Swan, and I would certainly return to try some of their other traditional, European dishes.

It was perfectly cooked and incredibly satisfying. To top off the night, we headed downstairs to their cocktail bar, Laylow, and had an amazing time. The atmosphere was fun, the cocktails were just as impressive as dinner, and it was the perfect way to end the evening. Average food. The cauliflower bites were our favorite. We spent about $160 with tip for four people including drinks and some dessert. There is no service here: get your own food, wipe your own table, clean your table and throw out your garbage when you're done. The oatly soft serve and s'mores sundae with smuckers marshmallow fluff were also very good. read more
