Larry is a thief. He stole a $250 deposit. Don't send him money on cash app or venmo. We spoke for an hour- everything seemed fine. Passionate guy about dogs. Said he was a certified vet tech but he was talking at me about anti-depressants and medication and he was VERY wrong. Like, factually incorrect. That's fine...he's not a vet and giving my dogs meds- he's just a trainer. We confirmed an appointment. He didn't confirm the night before and 20 min after he was supposed to arrive I messaged him and he said he was held up at another appointment so we rescheduled for the following week. Next week, same deal. He said he needed to move the appointment, then he said he got bit. I told him I wasn't comfortable and wanted my money back. He laughed at me and said, "yeah, you'll get your money back". I reported him as a scam on Cash App. I'm also filing in small claims. read more

I read so many good reviews on Google about Larry and I wanted to trust that he was an honest business person, however I had a similar situation as another person that left a bad review on Google, he asked for a deposit, we scheduled a visit for him to come and meet my dog, he re-scheduled the meeting due to health issues and then he re-scheduled the board and train due to being in the hospital. Which I tried being understanding about it and gave him time to give me my refund, however, he never provided me my deposit back and has since stopped returning my messages. I am very disappointed in this experience and it is sad that he would use his hospital bills and excuses as a way to just keep my money for a service I never received. If you do decide to hire him, Do not give this man a deposit. This is a SCAM! The owner Larry Preston makes you put a deposit of half and then on the day of he text and says he won't be able to make it. When we started next sessions he claimed he was homeless and asked if we could pay up front because he needed to move. We paid $675.00 to help this guy out and he rescheduled several times, never showed up and lied that his vehicle would not start. Two weeks ago we were told that three sessions for our daughter's puppy and our 2 yr. old dog would be $400 with a $200 deposit through Zelle because he's doesn't take PayPal or credit card. (I wonder why that is?) He was supposed to be here at 10 AM. He didn't even have the decency to contact us. My daughter had to reach out to him to which he replied that his car died the day before. The time to let us know that would have been that day. He said to give him a minute and he would get back to us. We didn't hear back from him until the next day, again only after initiating contact, and still no refund. I guess he was still at the shop all that ttime on a Saturday night. I wish I had seen the reviews on Yelp and the unfavorable ones on Google. It seems this is his M. O. Taking advance deposits from people and then reneging on his verbal contract by giving one excuse after another as to why he can't make it. Larry did a great job with what we hired him to do and that's to train our 7 month old puppy, Diego to be the best he could be. Larry diligently spent 2 1/2 hours during our first Meet & Greet to get to know us, Diego and his everyday surroundings. This guy is the definition of ultimate scammer. He requires downpayment through cash app and then conveniently has migraines, winds up in the er, etc. to NOT show up at your scheduled appt. After a week of excuses, I asked for my deposit back. He kept trying to reschedule. When I said I'll just take my deposit back, he kept saying tomorrow... I said why not right now and he went off on me for not being sympathetic to his hospital deductible from a finger cut. That has absolutely nothing to do with me. Well he accidentally refunded my deposit twice and then threatened to sue me in small claims court for a reimbursement after one day. BEWARE of this "company" in the Dallas, TX area. He insisted on me paying with Venmo in advance for dog training services he did not fulfill and will not reply or issue me a refund. Due to paying over Venmo and not with a debit card I have no way of ensuring I will receive my money back as I could have disputed a transaction with my bank if I had paid with a debit card. Larry Preston took advantage of my situation and utilized Venmo to scam me out of over a $100. I really enjoyed working with Larry! He helped me and my 3 dogs + foster, and simply went above and beyond. He has a fun way of explaining his training concepts and they work! My two large dogs pulled on a leash, so I'd walk them one at a time. By the end of the session they were both walking alongside me...no pulling! Turns out you CAN teach an old dog new tricks. Larry is fun to work with and so knowledgeable, he has a heart of gold when it comes to dogs and he is a wonderful animal advocate.
