My wife and I went to this restaurant on 07/29/23. It was a horrible experience!! We noticed a lot of alarming things. The owner was working in the kitchen rather than supervising his business and interacting with customers. A lot of Desi owners do this to save on labor costs, but don't mind losing customers in the process. While we were sitting there, I could see and hear the loud and unprofessional voice of the owner getting upset with his chefs and the waitresses. It was very apparent to me he wanted to run the show by himself without empowering his employees. When we ordered food, we realized the prices we paid did not match with the prices on the menu that was given to us. We were told by the waitress the prices have since changed. This was in itself false advertising. I don't blame the waitress for saying that because she must be following the instructions of the owner. Incidentally the waitress was very nice. One of the items we ordered on the menu was a half order of shinwari. The price was $19.00! When the dish arrived to our table, we were appalled to see the minuscule quantity in a deep serving dish. The meat cubes were very tiny. We asked the waitress to take it back and show it to the owner. He didn't care nor did he come out to talk to us. We decided to get our refund on it. We could see in the eyes of the waitress how apologetic she was. Poor girl is probably working there for minimum wage and horrible treatment. We will never recommend this place to anyone. If there was an option to give zero stars, I would, as that's all this restaurant and its owner deserve!! After seeing great reviews about this place on DHR I decided to give them a try! I used a new app called Dinifi to avail my discount as a new customer to find out that they do not honor it. I drove all the way from Carrollton cause I wanted to try their Karhai Ghost which is on their Special list of Items and when I got there I was told that their meat was rotten so they had to throw it away and couldn't serve it to anyone. The new manager just looked at me like it was okay and didn't even recommend an alternative. For him it was okay that I walked out ... This was my experience and I don't think I'll be going back. Online prices and descriptions are not accurate. We ordered the family feast and online it says it's $24.99 and it comes with two naans. I go to pick up my order and it's $34 and they don't include the naans anymore. I told the girl that it's $24.99 online and all she said is that their prices changed. Why not update it on your menu? I regret going here. When we came they freaked out cause we were a big group. The manager was extremely rude and yelled at us. We came at 7 PM and the food only came at 9:30 PM after we yelled at them. Most of the food was not as advertised and also tasted bad. BEWARE OF RUDE OWNER!! We wanted to go to an iftar buffet for Mother's Day a day early and decided to make a reservation at Dallas Kabob House. The phone was picked up by a very authoritative rude man who proceeded to be very condescending. I asked him for a reservation for 8 adults and 2 children and he goes well that's ten people and I replied yes correct 10 chairs. Then he says well you said 8 even though I specifically told him the amount of adults and children but at this point I wasn't in the mood to deal with his bad attitude. After the fact he continues to tell me that if you are not present 10 mins before I will give your reservation away. I was so apprehensive about going at this point because of his ill-mannered behavior so I turned to my trusty Dallas Halal Reviews and read that recently the owner has been known to be rude. I called back 30 mins later and spoke to someone and politely canceled the reservation. After that I receive a phone call from the owner asking me very angrily why I cancelled the reservation, and I politely told him it was too far for us because I didn't want to hurt his feelings in Ramadan and tell him that his customer service skills have obviously deteriorated at warp speeds during Ramadan. He then tells me that he lost 50 customers due to my reservation which doesn't make sense because my reservation was for 10. Clearly his management and math courses were taken from the same school, subpar. Then he hangs up on me, so please be very wary of taking your family to this establishment. I work across the road (literally) from Hot n Crunchy, so we eat here quite often. Despite a lot of reviews complaining about a long wait time, we have never noticed this issue - our food is normally ready with 15-20 minutes of calling the order in, a normal wait time for picking food up. The food is always awesome, too; a particular house favorite is the Chicken Boti (pro-tip, get some extra veggies with it). It's always super well-seasoned and has the perfect amount of spice. Just enough to tease, but it doesn't make you sweat too much. Honestly, if you're in the area, I'd definitely recommend giving it a shot. read more

Out of all the South Asian kebab places that have popped up over the past few years I'd have to say so far this is the best one I have tried! The menu is a bit smaller, and at first I was disappointed with a lack of sides, but the meat portions are very generous and make up for that. The food is VERY fresh,nothing taste reheated or pre made. The naan is soft, meat is juicy, rice is fluffy, vegetables are nice and crispy, and all the spices taste balanced and never stale. Hands down Hot and Crunchy is the best Pakistani restaurant within the Plano area!!! I love their grilled items, especially the juicy chicken tikka boti and the behari kebab...perfect amount of spice and grilled to perfection. Makes my mouth water just thinking about these 2 items now. Their fried chicken tenders are wonderful too and come with a generous portion of masala fries and a soda when you get the meal. I love the masala fries...they are super tasty. The food does take a little while to prepare but that's because each meal is prepated with diligence. The range of food was good as well: from nihari and paya to biryani and halwa puri. The restaurant itself is very clean and nicely arranged. The staff were all attentive and courteous. We ordered and waited 45 minutes, saw that others got their meals before we did and we ordered way before them! When we went up to the counter to ask where our order was, they stated "Oh...I forgot to give it the the cooks." So we waited for NOTHING! Our second visit was this summer when we decided to give them another shot after they remodeled. We went in gave our order and the food we received was cold. We ordered Chicken Biryani (which wasn't warm), chicken tenders (Not flavored and was friend way too long because the chicken was tough), and got 2 other dishes I could have cooked at home and would have turned out better! Even if you stick it in the microwave at least there could have been steam coming out, but that wasn't the scene! Several people mentioned this place, that it had new owners, new menu & had been renovated. Went their with few friends & was pleasantly surprised, this place is really awesome. The food is freshly prepared (that's why it took a bit longer to get our goat karahi) & is very authentic. Excellent customer service! The business is family owned and operated and they bring that family vibe to restaurant. The workers were very welcoming, friendly, and service was quick. Although it's a Pakistani restaurant, they also serve American food, such as chicken tenders and Philly cheesesteaks. Liked the food a lot but only giving it a 4/5 here because I got sick later in the day. Not entirely sure if the two were related. The Bihari Kabab Roll in the paratha was really good. I really liked the French fries with the Masala as well. Reminded me a lot of the street vendors in Karachi in the early 90s. I'm not someone who looks at the decor of a place of the food is good. Went as part of a group reservation on New Years Day. They had the reservation 3 days in advance and should have been prepared. They only had one waiter (no buffet), and we waited TWO HOURS to receive our food!! We finally received our lunch at 2:30pm, I was dieing of hunger. They gave us complimentary gulab jamun for the long wait. My stomach was upset later from the food. Never eating here again.. Haven't tried the new place yet, so please don't go by what I had said about the business: This place is notorious for getting your order wrong. While the owner is always courteous enough to apologize, the last time I brought up a wrong order, one of the employees told me that it wasn't her job to check orders, as she's not making them!
