I have eaten here a few times. If you are looking for a good Pakistani restaurant this is the place to try. They have excellent kabobs, their karahi's are excellent. They also have small but very tasteful Sunday brunch buffet. Their sweet lassi is the best in town. The husband and wife are nice people. Usually they come and visit you and ask how everything is. I may be the only person that comes here for the fried chicken and fries but for good reason: the fried chicken is incredible. The seasoning they use is absolutely perfection. I usually ask for a side of the masala seasoning (what they use to season the fries) and sprinkle it on the fried chicken as well. The preparation of any order takes quite a bit of time to make (whatever you order comes out fresh and piping hot!). What I usually do is call ahead of time by 15 minutes and by the time I get there, the food is ready. Yes, Babe's fried chicken is awesome, slightly better than Hot N Crunchy's. But the problem with Babe's is you're coerced into ordering all the parts of the chicken. I'm a thigh man and drumstick man on occassion, so the breast and wing usually goes to waste if my wife isn't dining with me. A la cart fried chicken is the best way to go: some of us like the dark, some of us prefer the white. And get this: 3 pieces of fried chicken and a basket full of fries comes out to around $6.00. And I always take a bit of masala seasoning home with me. The seasoning by the way, is concocted by the owner Assef. I've used it as a rub for my rib eye and it was excellent. Chicken Karahi was quite flavorful. Nan and rice is extra, but the value is still decent. The chicken itself felt a bit bland, it didn't feel like it was cooked in the sauce, which is a shame because the sauce is really good. As you can see from the 2 prior reviews, years apart in their own respect, I have been coming to this location for many years. Unfortunately, after an incident with the owner, I've ceased coming entirely. That incident in question revolves around their brunch buffet, which years ago was quite the attraction. After seeing they reopened a while back when COVID had quieted down quite a bit, we reserved a table after confirming many details about the spread, including the drinks, proteins and the key item, the price. After coming and enjoying a nearly empty restaurant for us to breathe easy in, we went to pay only for the price to ring up to about 40% more than expected. Confused, I brought it up with the owner, who I've spoken to many times and dealt with amicably, and expected a correction to be made so I could be on my way. Instead, I was immediately treated with a brash attitude, an early warning, after which he told me they had a service fee, in the form of an extra percentage per person, which brought the buffet price up significantly and caused the bill to go up even further as a result. I asked why he didn't advertise this and he said it's because "desis" don't want to pay the price he "deserves" for the spread and that it's how he keeps things running. I asked if at the very least the money went towards better wages and more staff, to which he replied, "No, why should it." My brother, sensing a righteous argument coming, dragged me out before I could have a word with him and the kind employees. That's the point when I said I couldn't support a business like this. I know people come here for the food, as do I, so the food quality went down from what it was in 2017-18 but it's still decent albeit overpriced. Their garlic sauce is still enviable though. Those are all my thoughts, long and arduous as they may be, and with that in mind I hope you understand why I cannot in any good conscience recommend this establishment. read more

I don't have much to say except the food is good, but the service is absolutely horrible. Service is slow, rude, and you get ignored a lot. While we were there another family got upset for their dish not having enough meat. The owner/chef came out and basically said that customers will never be happy no matter what you do. My friends and I meet quarterly for lunch and we wanted to try a Desi place none of us had been to. We made the right choice. The owners were the only staff in during the late afternoon and they could not have been more welcoming, pleasant and helpful. Each of us ordered something different and our varied p tastes were satisfied by every dish we ordered. My friends ordered the Beef Nihari which was fall off the bone and came with a generous helping of sauce. While sopping it up with naan is great, if they'd add rice to their side dishes that be ideal for finishing off the sauce. His wife isn't a fan of spicy food so her chicken biryani was perfect and enough for her to enjoy two meals. My Shinwari chicken karahi was excellent. Fall off the bone and 3 out of 5 on the spice. Exactly what I wanted. I also ordered some ala carte beef seekh kabobs that we all agreed were delicious. A round of chai was enjoyed by all. Hope to go back soon. read more

Karahi Gosht with Afghani naan- don't even think of going elsewhere for this combo. And when you are at this restaurant, you would be CRAZY not to order it. The people here are friendly, and very accommodating. Upon arrival we received our menus. The item that popped out the most was the karahi gosht. We saw a video of it on their digital menu as well, and it looked very good. Along with this, we ordered chapli kabab as well. Everything was awesome. We ate our karahi gosht straight out of the pot (yes, it is served in the actual karahi!) and were licking our fingers. My wife and I typically don't eat a crazy amount, but this dish was a, "one more bite for taste" type of item. I hope these guys continue to keep up their quality. Don't miss this diamond in the rough. This place is unassuming inside and out, but MAN the food is amazing. I'll start with some facts out very helpful and sweet waitress (and I'm guessing owner) dropped for us: they make their yogurt dips and drinks in house, as well as the bread. She talked with us about the menu and made very helpful suggestions. We ended up getting two family feasts with chicken boti, chicken kebab, beef seekh kebab, beef bihari boti... and something else, each plate came with two gigantic very soft-yet-crispy-on-the-bottom pieces of fresh naan. The chicken seekh wrap wash nice and fresh, a chicken kebab wrapped in fresh naan with chopped vegetables. But the winner according to everyone at the table was the butter chicken. The mango lassi was an excellent cool and refreshing yogurt drink (made in house) to cool down some of the spicier dishes. All of the food was really good, customer service was excellent. I went to Dallas Kabob House (DKH) with my family on a Sunday afternoon. We were visiting Dallas from Houston area. Someone had recommended DKH to us especially their Shinwari Karahi and Chapli Kabob. Here is what happened in each one of the department of running a successful restaurant: Greet: There was no one until we walked past half of the restaurant. A guy came and greeted us asking us how many of us were going to dine in. The restaurant was empty except for one table. Up on telling him that we are party of 5; he said the whole restaurant is empty so pick anyplace to sit down. Well, why do even ask when we can clearly see the whole place was empty. Service: He brought the menu and took our drinks order. While looking at the menu, we knew what to order as recommended earlier; he stood for about 30 seconds and suddenly said to me to come to the counter to place the order. Well, why did you ask for to order while sitting when we had to order at the counter anyway? Cleanliness: This is the most dirty restaurant I have ever been into; the windows are dirty; the door knobs are dirty and the flooring sticky. But that just a start, we saw multiple flies in the restaurant so many that it started to bother my kids to a freakish level. Food: Third class - is all comes to mind. The Chicken Karahi was made as if the oil was put later on and you could taste the uncooked oil in your mouth. The spices - mediocre and with no taste. The kebab, dry and taste less. The nihari, looked like been sitting in for days before it was served to us. The greeter and owner came to apologize to us about the cleanliness and asked about the food quality. Up on providing feedback, they didn't know how to correct the situation. They couldn't offer turning on a fan or something to clean up. Post Lunch: As expected, we started to have cramps and felt oil based reflexes in our mouth due to uncooked oil. We left Dallas towards Houston praying that we wouldn't get sick but prayers didn't work much; we felt terrible all the way to home due to the food we ate at Dallas Kabob House. We went for the brunch on the weekend. Wait staff can not speak a single word of English so good luck with asking them for anything and expecting it to be brought to you which essentially makes the wait staff useless except picking up dirty plates. The owner is sneaky and not upfront about the charges. When you ask about the bill he would simply say, "oh it will be texted to you". when you finally see the bill after an hour of lag time, you have been charged close to 20% gratuity on top of the price for your buffet for a party of just two. Understandable if there is a big crowd and the meals are brought by the staff at the table and where the wait staff really work their rear off. But c'mon, this is a buffet where we have to serve ourselves. Food is on the pricey side while there was nothing special on the buffet menu. Same old minimum routine items. There are many many other desi places to choose from in the nearby vicinity where one will get a lot more value for the same amount of money spent. read more
