My dog has been going to another daycare ever since I've had her and I took her here for the first time. When I came to pick her up after her first day, I asked for a tour. Apparently they don't use the yard at all anymore because people in the neighborhood behind complained of the noise. Honestly it makes sense and I now understand why daycares aren't so conveniently located. But rather than moving to a more suitable location, the dogs "play" inside. The play area for the large dogs was horrendously small and had way too many dogs in there. No room to play - they were pretty much just all standing around. The ENTIRE place reeked of urine. She usually would smell a little after the old place she went to all the time, but never like this. I drove her straight to the pet store to give her a bath. I'm so disappointed and honestly worry she will get sick from the lack of cleanliness. read more

Never coming back. Our dog boarded and had grooming in early October 2025 at the same time as our daughter's dog. Both dogs got sick with vomiting and diarrhea 24 hours after their stay. We did not blame the Pet Den then, and assumed just bad luck contracting an infection that passed in about a week (not after expensive vet care!). Took our dog back this past weekend for boarding and a bath. Today, less than 24 hours home, he's sicker than a dog AGAIN! Poor guy! There aren't enough worried nights, or vet visits - or rugs - to deal with this again. We are done with the den forever! Don't go here! read more

I finally found a groomer that I like, confident that my 7.5 lb longhair chihuahua will be treated well and groomed properly. Li'LuLu is comfortable going into Aubrey hands and I feel good seeing that. It's also wonderful being able to make an appointment for my pet's grooming and able to pick her up an hour later. Other grooming providers have you bring your pet in by 9am and pick them up around 5pm. Dallas Pet Den is in a great location where I can choose what I am doing for an hour while LuLu gets freshened up. read more

I am MORTIFIED by the condition I picked my lab up in. She boarded for the week and was totally covered in both drool and piss. Her Stomach and paws were also rubbed raw (see picture). I was told this condition is normal/should be expected if the wash package was not added.. No dog or animal should spend a week neglected in other dogs pee and drool. My leash was also chewed in half when I arrived? The staffs only remediations were a "sorry your leash is chewed" and "we can wash the pee and drool off your dog for $60" I feel terrible for awful for boarding my pup here and hoping to warn other owners before making the same mistake to trust Dallas Pet Den with your animals care, they certainly didn't care about mine :( read more

I was visiting from out of town and needed somewhere to bring my baby for two days. His place was near. When you walk I the smell hit you hard like an unbearable smell of dirty dogs. Do. Not. Go. Here. I took my beautiful golden retriever here for a cut. They shaved him, I did not ask for a shave and respectfully asked to have the manager contact me. They have subsequently ruined our family photos because of his shave. I'm sure the lovely GM will respond faster here than they have responded to me. We are enraged by the neglect our 12-year-old dog experienced at Dallas Pet Den, which we believe poses a serious health risk to any pet boarded there. Our dog was left in her kennel for 24+ hours without a potty break. We watched the webcam over Thanksgiving and no one took her out. We took a timestamped screenshot of the webcam after she urinated in her room. It was Thanksgiving, so no one answered the phone when I called (which is fine) - I did not get a response to my voicemail (not fine). The next morning, staff just added another bowl of food. There was no attempt to clean up or let her out until we called again. When confronted, the manager (Lori) did not apologize. She lied that she had personally attended to our dog on Thanksgiving. Even if that's true - which it's not - did she think the state of our dog's kennel was OK? We opted to receive a report card about our dog every day, but we only received 2. Neither of these report cards indicated distress, urinating in her own kennel, etc. The other report cards that we ordered but never received were removed from our order. I'm sharing this to warn other pet owners. Dallas Pet Den, and specifically the manager Lori, failed to provide even the minimum standard of care for our dog. If you consider your pet part of your family, as we do, I urge you to seek services elsewhere (Happy Tails or Camp Bow Wow). Our pets deserve compassionate and responsible care, which Dallas Pet Den has proven they cannot provide. Please read the other reviews. At Dallas Pet Den, you have two options: you can choose the normal kennels, in which case your pets will be neglected and you won't know about it, or you can choose the luxury suites, in which case they will also be neglected but you can watch it via live webcam. Edit: In response to the comment below. We watched the webcam with increasing worry all day over Thanksgiving. No one took our dog out of that kennel. If I could leave zero stars, I would. I chose to trust this place because it was close and seemed to have good reviews at the time. My 6 month old bernedoodle went to daycare for 4 days while I was working and seemed to do ok. Each day I picked her up she was increasingly dirty and stinky. As a nurse, I'm so exhausted by the end of the day and didn't necessarily pay attention to my pups fur until the weekend came. Upon further inspection, there was caked on poop under her tail. It was as if she had been sitting in poop for a while. I immediately gave her a bath and almost had to cut her fur around her bottom area because the poop was so stuck. Fast forward to this past week, I decided to give this place the benefit of the doubt and take my girl back for the 2 days I needed day care. I picked her up the first day and she was very dirty and had an odor but I couldn't quite put my finger on what it was. I took her back the next day and she was even more dirty when I picked her up. She was covered in pee and it was embedded in her coat. It was as if she had been lying in pee both days. I, again, had to give her a bath because her fur was starting to matte and the water turned brown instantly. My heart hurts that I let my sweet pup endure the neglect this place provides. Rest assured, I will NEVER recommend this place or return. If you love your pet, do not send them here for any service. read more

I took my Frenchie puppy "Mz. Montana" here for day care and we stopped going due to her suffering a leg injury while unsupervised. She was left in an isolated room with two other dogs and when I picked her up she could not put weight on her back leg. The story that I was told made no sense and I learned that there are limited cameras throughout the facility. Here's my overall analysis of Dee's Doggy Den Pros: *Affordable daycare package ($300/ mo) *Friendly staff *Centrally located Cons: *Limited cameras throughout the facility *Not very clean, some parts of the facility smell and are not kept up. *Lack of communication from ownership to staff *Not all dogs are friendly. One dog jumped up and bit me while trying to pet once. The Doggy Den is a bare bones solution to dog daycare, grooming needs and boarding. I would not recommend this place due to the fact that your pet may not be supervised and could be isolated in a room with other dogs without your knowledge and could be possibly injured (like my puppy was). I also had to take her to the vet and paid for X-rays ($233 in all) to confirm that her leg was not broken. All I was told from a staff member was that "I am going to tell the owner to call you". I never actually heard from the owner. My advice.. it's not worth the risk. Proceed with caution.. read more

When Dallas Pet den took over the original owners I was worried about the price increase. Despite issues like cleanliness and organization before Dallas Pet Den, my two,dogs were familiar with it, and the price and convenience was right. The new ownership has blown me away and my dogs behavior is better. It's so much cleaner. New staff is engaging and more dependable. I can text with the management. My family has used Doggie Den for years! My current dog LOVES this place. She is blind, but perks up the second I turn into the parking lot and is so excited to go visit her friends on staff. "Forget about Mom, take me back to see my friends!" I have only ever taken her there for grooming and they are always so professional. My dog comes back looking beautiful and they've even given her a little bandanna. This past week, I took her there for boarding while I went out of town and was interested to see how this old blind girl would handle her separation anxiety. Were able to accommodate me last minute for boarding 2 small yorkies. The location is convenient for Old Lake Highlands. The front desk people were very nice and seemed to love animals. I took a look at the facilities and they were clean and smelled fine. The open pen for the little dogs had plenty of room for play. The open pens for the bigger dogs were pretty full so if you have a big dog I would consider capacity. Each pen had an employee supervising play. There are a lot of bad reviews for Doggie Den, but most of them seem to revolve around the boarding portion of the business. So, I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt when it comes to grooming. I have a 9 month old Sheepadoodle puppy, and she has a LOT of floof to groom. My husband and I usually groom her ourselves, but it takes far too long to get her hair to a #3 or shorter so we brought her here for her summer cut. Honestly, they did a great job! Despite us thoroughly brushing her every day with a normal brush, slicker brush, AND stainless steel comb she still had some matting on the tops of her feet, behind her ears and under her chin. Their groomer was very courteous! He knew that to get the mats out he'd have to shave her feet, chin and behind her ears shorter than we requested and he called me to ask my permission to do so before he went ahead with it. I thought that was so kind and respectful! Most places would have just shaved her and explained when I came to pick her up. When I went to pick her up she smelled SO good and was her normal happy self. She's never been to a groomer before so I was a little nervous leaving her there, but she seemed to be perfectly fine. I'm giving them 4 stars simply because I felt they could have blended the shaved portion into the rest of her fur length so the shaved portion wasn't so blunt and obvious. After I mentioned this they kindly said they could note that preference in her account for next time. But, for $69 they did a dang good job! We tipped 15%, because you pay when you drop your pup off and we didn't know if we'd be impressed or not. We'll definitely tip our groomer more next visit. read more

Trust the sub-par reviews or you'll regret it. Took my dog here twice for baths no problem. Third time took her for a bath and trim and she came back with bloody paws and a bad haircut. The haircut I can let slide, the bloody paws 100% not ok. Supposed to be taking care of dogs, not hurting them. Multiple nails were obviously cut way too short. She tracked blood all into the car and around our house. She's a very calm older dog who doesn't put up a fight with mail trims, so there's really no excuse except for bad service. And on top of it, 2 out of 3 employees were not wearing their masks, while all customers were. READ! ** This is the one of the less expensive boarding place in the dallas area, which is one of the reasons we were recommended to on short notice. Before arrival we spoke on the phone and the lady told us the total would be $132 after our free complimentary night for our 2 dogs. Upon arrival, we're told the total will be $132 with the packages we selected. I asked for a receipt or an email confirmation so we have proof our dogs are booked. We are told they aren't that high tech for email notifications and they don't supply paper receipts? Also, 2 workers offered to send pictures daily of my 2 dogs (1 yr dog & 7 mo puppy). We never received any pictures. We were also told there were cameras-- none worked. They are under construction right now, so it's understandable. However, the dog area outside is pitch black when the dogs are out there, not one light. And there are also dirty towels all over the floor and everything seemed very uncleanly. Considering it's under construction it's understandable, but still. The day of pick up I called at 1:38pm asking for an update and if the dogs were okay physically and if they were eating. I was informed by the lady at the desk she didn't know as no one reports upfront, but they should be fine. She offered to check on them, few minutes passed and came back and said they were perfectly fine and all ready to be picked up. Upon picking up, we are told our total is now $192. After a good minute discussing this the gentlemen says he will honor the $132 this time, but as that's what we were told over the phone and in person-- why would they not. And as they did not give us any receipt it seems odd. Finally after arguing we are told they will honor it. Right before the lady goes to get our 2 dogs, she starts to explain how our puppy has a scratch on his nose that's he got the prior day..... but when I had called hours prior I was told they were perfect... odd again. We rushed them home and upon arriving at home noticed dried poop all over one dog, and then our dog starts to crap water liquid everywhere while whimpering. I called back and am informed that dogs do that when excited, and if I would like that I can bring my dog back for a bath. Unacceptable. It's definitely a cheap option, but as this was my FIRST time boarding-- I am NOT please. I would rather spend much more money than board here again. UPDATE: just got off the phone with Evan -- they promised he would call me in the morning, once I am called I am thrown rushed excuses saying that everyone said my dog was fine and he was kept in the old dog den, and proceeds to tells me they separated my two dogs, which was a no no. Then as we continue to discuss why my dog is pooping bloody watery stool (which after this phone call and a ER visit we are told he has a GI Infection)-- This then leads Evan, who is the owner of this business, he starts to yell at me over the phone and cuts me off and will not even let me speak, throwing in my face that I paid less and should've paid two hundred dollars. Real fabulous customer service. If I could rate ZERO stars I would. All I wanted was communication and an apology for my dogs treatment. Very very displeased. read more
