Working with Dallas Watson was easy and painless. The initial quotes with Laura were smooth and informative. Learning about the possible flooring solutions was really helpful. We had vinyl plank installed along with new carpet. For the installation, the carpet techs were fast. The old carpet was out, floor prepped and the new pad and carpet done in less than a day. (3 bedrooms and a hallway). The finished floor looks great. The LVP took a bit longer but required more prep, leveling and detailed fitting. The tech did a great job and the detail work looks excellent. Overall super happy with the finished product and the cost. I'd use Dallas again for any flooring needs we have. Dallas Watson Flooring offers a range of wool carpets, but our experience with their customer service was extremely frustrating. We selected both a carpet and a rug and were told installation would happen within three weeks. Measurements were taken a week later, and we paid in full. After several weeks of silence, we were informed that the rug we chose was no longer available. Another week passed with no updates on the carpet or any sign of a refund. When I reached out to check in, the installation coordinator, Amy, sent a series of unsettling emails--saying she decides which customers they work with and when installations happen, and even implying she cancels orders if she feels a client is rude. The entire exchange felt unprofessional and uncomfortable, so we requested a refund and moved on. There are many other flooring companies in Seattle that value professionalism and communication--this one, unfortunately, missed the mark. read more

We had a wonderful experience with Dallas Watson Flooring. We had some water damage which required repair on a 22 year old cork tile floor. Although they couldn't find the original cork tile, they found a similar style and Pavel was able to repair it to where it was hardly noticeable. This saved us a lot of money, time and headaches. We decided to renovate our carpeted stairs and upstairs hallway and we had previously had Dallas Watson complete our downstairs Kentwood floating bamboo flooring and they did a beautiful job back in 2015 and we knew if we ever needed flooring again, they would be our go-to company to do any future jobs. The Dallas Watson reps took great care of us, being prompt in their visit and measuring carefully. And, they were so patient when we changed our minds about the flooring because we hadn't visited the flooring showroom to ensure we liked the likely match. As it turned out, we were really glad to visit their showroom in Georgetown because we ended up going with a different flooring option. We are so happy with our Teragren Essence bamboo flooring as it matched our original flooring perfectly! The construction took place while we were out of town for spring break and the workers were professional and left our home clean. It was so nice to be rid of that gross 12-year-old carpeting that survived two dogs, two kids, and a work from home adult who likes their coffee. We also asked them to replace the paper-based baseboards in our bathrooms with solid wood trim as the original baseboards were swelling due to the moisture exposure. They replaced the trim in all three of our bathrooms. We had to ask them come back because they forgot the master bathroom trim. They came back to finish the job and did a fantastic job! read more

Dallas Watson and his team was phenomenal in all aspects of their service to us in a full restoration of our red oak hardwood floor that spans then entire main floor of our home. We had a flooding incident that required a week of water mitigation, but the damage required boards to be replaced, and the entire floor to be sanded, re-stained and sealed. Dallas responded immediately and personally visited the house to assess the damage and very quickly turned around a very practical scope of work and fair estimate for high quality work. Two weeks later the work was underway, and his team was highly skilled, efficient, with exceptional attention to detail, managing dust and overall cleanliness to the house through the entire process. Dallas and his team were very friendly, exceptionally responsive and I was almost sad to see them go! I didn't just need new floors. I needed my whole house to feel like it was flat. Dallas Watson delivered in such a big way for me. I am so impressed and thankful that I chose to work with this company. My house is finally awesome! My 110-year-old-home in West Seattle had a century of settlement and an embarrassing 4-inch decline from the front of the house to the back kitchen. On top of that, the original hardwood was splintered so badly in places that I had to sand it down and put electrical tape over it so I wouldn't get stabbed in the foot. My floors were such a paint point that I never had a housewarming party. That was more than two years ago. Knowing I was looking at a major project, I talked to many companies about all sorts of options. Lifting the house altogether and adding a basement/third floor. Driving piles underneath the foundation to level the house and fix the dip. I talked to soil scientists and geo-techs. All of the advice I got was that my foundation was actually in good shape. The geo-tech convinced me I didn't have to drive piles if I didn't want to. He said to focus on the floors if that's what I needed to be happy. From the very first on-site visit I had with Ami, the Dallas Watson flooring consultant who gave me the quote, to every interaction I had with Ruslan, the installer who did all the work himself and single-handedly solved my problem, I felt like a valued client and part of the team. The end result is what matters most. My floors are flat for the first time in forever. The Adura Rigid luxury vinyl I choose looks amazing. And I finally had the housewarming party I always intended. To fix the 4-inch dip in my house, Ruslan measured every inch of every joist throughout the main floor and meticulously shaved down pieces of wood to place on top of the joists. Dallas was the best contractor we worked with on our recent remodel. He's the full package. He communicated clearly end-to-end, answering all of my questions patiently. This included both spending time with me in the showroom to pick out flooring and on the job to work through some of the complexities of the install, as we have an old house that introduced some trickiness to the project. His crew was reliably on time, friendly, did good work, and cleaned up after themselves. And when there were a couple of minor things that got missed (as is normal in a large project like this), they were receptive of our feedback and addressed the issues quickly. When we had some hiccups in our overall remodel project, Dallas was understanding and flexible, and quickly adjusted his calendar to accommodate. Dallas Watson Flooring helped with converting a 10'x12' room from carpet to Vinyl flooring. The end product looks good but almost any company can do a decent job installing a PVC floor. They did differentiate themselves with their professionalism though - 1. Everyone I interacted with was super punctual. They would ring the door bell at the exact minute! 2. Their quotes were very competitive and they were transparent and upfront about potential issues that might add to the cost once the carpet is removed and the floor inspected. 3. They were empathetic. I had a certain situation and even though their original appointment was 4-5 weeks away, they took my situation and the fact that it is a small work order into consideration and got me an appointment two weeks away. I was facing what, for me, was a very large project--replacing carpet on two floors of my townhouse (1,680 sq. ft.) that included two flights of stairs. I first consulted with Dallas Watson and he was very helpful. I returned many times, asking questions and taking different carpet samples home with me. I finally decided on a beautiful carpet and worked with office staff, a woman who came out to measure, and the project manager, Bunny. Everyone who helped me was efficient and patient. The installers showed up on time, completed the work in two days, and did an impeccable job. There are bound to be some nicks in the baseboard and walls with a project of this scope, but they were careful and kept these to a minimum. Before making my decision to choose Dallas Watson Flooring, I got a quote from another company. It was slightly higher, but not significantly. What sold me on Dallas were the detailed quote they provided, the outstanding customer service, and their approach to their work as articulated in their customer handbook. It described all aspects of the installation and the walk-through they schedule to identify details that might need additional touch up. I am very happy with the service and the product I received and would definitely use them again. I have no hesitation in recommending them. read more

My partner wrote this, and I pasted it here for Yelp: After a lot of research, I hired Dallas Watson. I read that if you can afford it, it's better to go with a specialist for flooring because with handymen and Home Depot, the quality isn't as good. After seeing the final product, I'm very happy I went with Dallas Watson. I'll get the negatives out of the way first, and explain why they aren't a problem: 1. The price is a bit higher. The estimated cost from Home Depot (not the final cost) would have been about 40% less. 2. Initially reaching them for a quote was slightly challenging. For the price, I would say you get what you pay for in regards to quality. Dallas Watson was upfront about cost, gave good estimates, and told us where we could save money or where it was important to focus. They gave us options with pros and cons and let us pick. The work and attention to detail in the project is incredible. The product will last several decades and has a warranty. If there's any time to spend more on having a good job done, it's this. For the difficulty in reaching them, I had tried to e-mail them initially, but didn't hear back. I had tried to call, but didn't get through, left a message and didn't hear back. I was free and just drove to their show room. I mentioned the difficulty and they apologized and said they'd look into and fix that issue. Once we went in and all through the entire project, communication was perfect with regular updates by phone, text, and e-mail. Now for the good: 1. The work they did was excellent; even small details. I went around and looked closely at the result and I found no issues. It looks fantastic, and as of right now I have zero complaints. It's beautiful. 2. They communicated every step, they told us where we can save money, were upfront about issues, and responsive.For my project, there was an issue with my subfloor not being level enough for the floor manufacturer warranty. They sent me pictures of the issue and provided 3 solutions at different prices with their pros and cons, discussed the issue, and let me decide. 3. Our project included removing carpets and hardwood, but the day after they removed all the flooring the entire state of Washington was hit by mandatory stay-at-home order from the governor, something nobody could plan around. The house was entirely unoccupied at this time, but I had been waiting to list my condo until after flooring was done so I was stuck with two mortgages. Dallas Watson tried to work with the governor's office on being given the go-ahead on the house work in an empty house, and then when it didn't work out, continued to try. They ended up getting the go-ahead to work in unoccupied houses and immediately got back to work. Due to the extra challenges, they even offered we could move all of our stuff in and they would do the furniture moving free of charge to finish the job. We didn't take them up on it but it was a generous offer. 4. I had confidence in their work. In my experience, working with contractors I haven't worked with before I always have unease about if they are going to take care of my place, if they know what they are doing or will give enough attention, or if they are cutting corners. From talking through the project with Laura, having Ami come out for measurements, and all my communication with them, I felt at ease and comfortable leaving my house and investment in their hands. It's easy to forget the potential unease that can come with leaving your home in someone's care, and it's hard to overstate how much of a relief it is to feel you can trust someone with it. 5. The number of options in their showroom was fantastic, with a very wide range of options and samples I could take. I'm sure I missed some things. I did a lot of research: I had an Excel document with 5 flooring companies with aggregated reviews and social media history from 10 websites in comparison with estimates from the top 3. I am an anxious person about big purchases. With that said, I am happy with my experience with Dallas Watson and recommend them to anyone looking to upgrade their floors. read more

I wanted to wait about 6 months before reviewing in case any problems came up, but so far all is well. We had Dallas Watson take out the carpet on the second floor of our house and replace it with bamboo flooring (highly recommend bamboo because of it's fast-regrowth, and therefore low-impact qualities). From the beginning, they made the entire process very simple. I was concerned that installing during the coldest days of winter would cause problems to come up in summer, but everything looks good so far. Just one warning: if you have pets of any kind, plan on boarding them somewhere during the installation. They have to do a lot of loud hammering to install these things and I'm sure my cat would have lost her mind if she had been here. read more

I've used Dallas Watson Flooring in the past to refinish and drain my hardwood floors to match a swatch sample. I only used them after our general contractor flooring company messed up the color 4 times and we barely had any thickness left to do it again. Dallas Watson nailed the color on their first try. Now, we decided to go back to them to install new hardwood floors. Our architect originally prescribed wide plank flooring but we decided to save money on our addition and remodel at the time by keeping what we have. Anyways, our architect referred us to an interior designer who favored the engineered hardwood flooring since the planks are wider and the flooring materials are all pre-stained so no sanding or color matching. Dallas Watson agreed to the install . They did recommend custom stair treads since the engineered flooring didn't come in our stair tread shapes. As it turned out, the custom stair tread guys got the shape right, but the color and grain and knotting was wrong. And, the supplier provided nosing pieces from the manufacturer that also didn't match. We brought it to Ami's attention at Dallas Watson and she saw what we saw and worked super hard to make it all good. They redid the parts that were all wrong and we had to adjust the staircase design slightly, but now it looks great. They honored their original pricing for the job. It all looks spectacular, the way we originally envisioned it. Most jobs have some type of hiccup. The quality of the vendor really shows at this time when they decide to either make it perfect or take short cuts or sell you that it Durant look bad. I hired Dallas Watson to install engineered bamboo (I did tiling and I'll finish it off with baseboards). I had a great experience. Christina came over and took all measurements. I had quite a few questions (levelness, subfloor squeaks, soft plywood in one spot, tile to wood thickness different.. just to name a few). She was very insightful and answered all my questions, as well as being fast at taking measurements. She even provided insight on what she would do for which way the boards should run. I had a specific floor in mind and after a lot of discussion and Christina listening to my concerns, I ended up going with a similar floor but one that would meet my needs better. She took the time to show me samples at the showroom and explain differences. Super happy with the product I chose. The installers showed up on time and did everything in the quote. They even worked with me on different ways to butt wood to tile and it's exactly what I wanted. They were professional and cleaned up before leaving. Overall 5 out of 5 stars. I had 4 other companies provide me estimates. None of which I felt as confident in as DW since they genuinely listened to my concerns and addressed them. We worked with Dallas Watson to install LVP in our condo and love the results. We picked the Gaia American Cherry from their showroom, and the entire process was super seamless. The installation team was extremely efficient and did great work. They left the place immaculate after they were finished too, all we had to do was some light mopping to get the remaining dust but it was basically clean when they packed up. We are in the middle of our 2nd project with Dallas Watson, both with Laura VanBrunt as our designer. We were very happy with the guidance and high quality work on our first project, so went straight back to DW the next time we needed flooring & tile. We have recommended them to family & friends. Two especially notable parts of our experience: 1) Excellent customer service. Laura was always available for us by email/text/phone, and met us in person at the DW showroom, our project site, and our residence- whatever was needed. 2) Conscientious installers. The folks who installed our flooring & tile took pride in their work and made suggestions on a few details that we didn't think about but probably would have regretted afterwards had they not brought them to our attention. I think that's a true tell for what you're getting with DW: everyone, through all parts of the business, is working to ensure a great end result.  Project #1: updating downtown condo prior to selling (see photos) Laura helped select wood flooring, carpet, countertops and paint that all coordinated with each other and uplifted our 8-year-old unit to the look prevalent in brand new buildings. This was our first time working without a general contractor, but Laura made it easy by coordinating schedules for everything, including with our painter. As unexpected details popped up during the project, Laura helped us figure out the best design choices and the finished product was really quite stunning. Our home sold very quickly for a great price, and we are confident that the high quality work on the upgrades was key to that outcome. Project #2: updating 100-year-old Capitol Hill condo (no photos yet) Laura helped us with all major rooms: wood flooring in the living room & bedroom, tile flooring in the bathroom & kitchen and a new bathroom tub/shower tile surround. As in Project #1 she also helped us think through paint colors to coordinate with all the new wood & tile surfaces. Great service, very professional staff. Sailor and Rhonda, were very helpful getting together my estimate, and going through the different ways they could accomplish the task of redoing our kitchen floor. For example they gave me an estimate for molding but I opted to do it myself. The floor itself was finished in one day! 10am-4pm. Which was perfect and didn't get in the way of using the kitchen much, or complicating home life. I've worked with various contractors in the past that did good work, but would leave a mess, or wouldn't clean up dust etc as they went. This was the opposite, very considerate of being in someones home while working, vacuuming up and cleaning as he went. I recommend Dallas Watson Flooring to anyone. read more

About two years ago we hired this company to lay flooring in our house that we had moved out of and were renting out - we were preparing to sell. They did a pretty good job laying the laminate like flooring so we decided to hire them to refinish the hardwoods in our current house. There were a few options of what we could do and we chose what we thought made the most sense and based on their recommendation. Our floors turned out terrible- they didn't look any better than they did before for $1500; in some areas it looked worse. They also said there was nothing that could be done about how the floor creaks in the kitchen. Would not recommend for hardwood refinish jobs. read more

Received three bids from local floor refinishers, DW was one. Theirs was the lowest, AND I was very impressed with their laser measuring tool. Took like 5 laser shots, and all dimensions were saved for later use. The initial estimator gave me an excellent rundown of refinishing options, pros and cons, maintenance, etc. We selected DW pretty easily. Our floor refinishing was done the beginning of December. They. Look. AWESOME. Better than I expected. Then, the baseboard carpenter came to install new baseboards and do transitions. He worked quickly, maybe 4 hours. He did wonderful work, and he also installed a few pieces of baseboard in our kitchen! read more

Dallas Watson just finished installing floating hardwood floors for us. This involved removing the old flooring, moving furniture, installing the hardwood and the baseboards. Not an easy project, as it was in our condo, and the HOA has specific rules regarding contractors' hours, noise levels, access, etc. The installers were great. They took great care to make sure that the work they performed was of the highest caliber. The proposed schedule was adhered to. We are very pleased with the end results. Some flooring companies will skimp on what you cannot see, such as the glue or the leveling compounds. Dallas Watson was very transparent regarding the materials used, so we were able to compare quotes with this level of detail.We highly recommend, and will use their services and expertise again. read more
