I'm the type of person who is very specific about what I want and I did my homework. I got four different bids for this project, and C2C was the clear winner. Their quote was completely itemized--which I appreciated--and ended up being well under every other retail bid I received. Two people really made the difference: Mary and Bolo. Mary is a literal pro when it comes to the insurance side of things. She worked tirelessly on the supplements to ensure we maximized our RCV payout from our insurance. She caught things the adjuster missed and helped us get the settlement we actually needed to do the job right. Bolo, the project manager, was extremely responsive and reasonable throughout the entire build. Whenever a technical issue came up--even complex stuff like electrical circuit stability or specific plumbing heights--he was there to talk it through and get it handled. One thing I will say for people considering them: you need to be the kind of homeowner who has the capacity to stay on top of the work. If you know exactly what you want and you're willing to stay involved in the day-to-day details, C2C is an incredible solution. It's a partnership, and because I stayed engaged, we were able to hit a level of quality that usually costs twice as much. The house looks amazing (see the photos of the Blue Thunder Quartzite and the Jade tile!). They were fair, they were fast, and most importantly, they were responsive. Highly recommend if you want high-end results without the "luxury markup" of other firms.

Specifically, they subbed out the demo portion to another company which incurred more costs and thus lead to rejection of payment by insurance company. Or rather, it was ruled as costs extending beyond ordinary expenses. Had it been included with the mitigation equipment, the insurance would've likely accepted it, as it did last time. The actual work performed by everyone was great in the end, just as it had been last time. Everything was remediated properly and more importantly, timely. Brandon the PM on mitigation along with David the PM on the restoration side were great, with David being the most responsive and communicative PM I've ever worked with. Meaning, updates everyday, as promised. That was the best part of the whole project for me as an anxious homeowner. I will say that my own insurance agent didn't help matters either in this case. He was super hard to work with and eventually C2C had trouble reaching him. This also soured the whole experience as everyone worked to track him down by phone and to prove that all expenses were legitimate. I'm on the fence as to whether to use C2C again for mitigation. Would not hesitate to use them for restoration though.

We had them back out a few weeks ago to give us an estimate to enclose a side courtyard. Jay came out the next day, took measurements, and gave us a quote. He said that due to the width of the opening and us wanting a sliding glass door, he would have to frame the opening to accommodate the sliding glass door. He provided us with several options and we picked the best one that suited us. Jay immediately started framing and when the glass pieces came in, he and his crew came out and finished the framing and installation. Thank you for your offer to redo the work, but when I expressed concerns after your initial repair, that would have been the time to discuss alternative approaches. At the time you left me with that was just the way it was because of the way light is refracted. I tried to ignore it but it leaps out at you every time you walk by. It is much worse than it was before and 4 times larger. I hired another company to come out and see what they could do. Although their repair still isn't perfect, it is significantly less noticeable. At this point, I don't feel confident that another attempt would achieve the results I would like.

I have had Doug do several projects around my house.  First, he put in a back door and ramp off my back bedroom, then he put up a free-standing awning that a handyman could not install because he couldn't figure out how to do it.  Doug put up this awning all by himself, and it's quite heavy and awkward. When I first met Doug shortly after moving into my home, Doug noticed that the water heater was not vented.  The building inspector failed to notice this and did not report it.  Doug said that the water heater door, which faces outside, was not up to code and the heat buildup could cause a fire.  On further examination, Doug noticed that, yes, a small fire had occurred and melted a plastic part. Doug immediately went to the hardware store, bought a vent plate, cut the proper opening in the door and installed the vented plate. I do not hesitate to leave Doug alone in my home while he works if I'm gone.  He is very honest, is good to my dogs and his prices are very reasonable -- so reasonable, in fact, that I add to my payment and chastise him for not asking for more.
