I came in for a medical condition and the doctor was incredibly helpful. We also get great quality service from the staff.

They lie on their website about the pricing and even though I called and spoke on the phone with them twice on the way over, they hid the actual cost from me. The website promotes exactly "$20 visit, with 10 minutes STD results." This is far from true. They get your results quickly and that's good, but the actual cost of all the main STD tests starts at $450. I had gone here without symptoms thinking for $20 I'd be able to verify everything was in as good shape as I thought, but the fact that they downright lie on their website and promote themselves as a fast and "cost-effective" option is a blatant disrespectful lie to their patients who don't know any better. It's places like this that cause so many people to not go for periodic testing. If anyone in LA needs to be checked for most major STDs it is good to go to the free clinics in town - those clinics do typically take two weeks for results. read more

i'm leaving for africa in less than a month and was in desperate need of low-cost immunization. dr. arani's website claims quality (and efficient) service at rock-bottom prices. lured by the promise of a 15 minute wait time and friendly service, i hightailed it to a sketchy corner of downtown l.a. where dr. arani's clinic is located. neighborhood not withstanding, the clinic itself did not inspire confidence. ugly wrought iron bars protect all the windows and the cramped parking lot boasts several security cameras aimed in different directions. surprisingly, the front door opened into a spacious and clean lobby. that was the only good surprise. the "15 minute in and out" boasted by the website as well as the front desk stretched into 3 fucking miserable hours. i arrived shortly after 1 and left a little after 4. did i mention there were only two people in the lobby when i got there? what were they doing back there for petesake? i waited. and waited. and WAITED. i played games on my iphone. i texted people. finally the dr. came and told me shit i already knew. then he left the room and i waited some more for someone to come back and give me my yellow fever shot. i left starving, in a foul mood, and ready to annihilate the first person who crossed my path. that lucky person was my husband. bottom line : if you value your time and sanity, DON'T GO HERE. read more

I waited 2 hours to get a freaken vaccine shot for my trip. The website advertised false prices. It lies about efficiency and cheap prices. So when you over promise and under deliver, of course you get pissed off customers. After waiting forever you notice little things like how the staff likes to stand around and seem like ineffective workers, the squeaking of the tile floor, and the horrible music the TV plays. I even started calling other vaccination centers to see if I can just leave for a different place. I would recommend someone to pay more elsewhere. I have had vaccination shots before and it never took this long to get a shot. Yes, it is located in a shady area. Left December 17, 2013: Breaching all doctor / patience confidentiality, I was contacted today (12/17/13) by Dr. Arani with regards to the review I left on December 4, 2013 (below). The Dr. tried to excuse his call under the pretext of a routine follow up/concern to my current condition, yet it took him about 25 seconds to grill me about the 12/4/13 review and to offer me a partial or a full credit in exchange to it's removal. I declined Arani's offer as other potential patients should not fall into this trap. I suspect (can not prove it) that at least some of the high-praised reviews to this clinic are paid or arranged by an average SEO, considering the huge gap between pleased and unhappy patients. Additionally, Arani suggested a threat that there will be ramifications for the review I left. An unserious joke from a doctor that is beginning for his license to be revoked. Left December 4, 2013: STAY AWAY!!! Should not be called Dr. Arani rather Dr. Hustler for his predatory pricing strategy! About a month ago, I noticed some derma condition I wasn't sure about. Although I have a PPO, I consciously chose to handle it privately through a STD clinic. As I have never experienced any STD symptoms, I did what most of us do: Google for it... This clinic may be advertised under "California STD" (http://www.californiastd...), and/or " D.A.M.L.". On their website, they advertise (as of today - December 4, 2013) a "$20 Dr. visit", when I came in the price rose to $30 per the receptionist and eventually I was charged $50 (!!!) for the visit (not including testing). To make a long story short, this clinic is one major rip off center. I was charged $195 (+ $50 visit) for a single test and was offered another test for an additional $295 (!!!). I went online and ordered an entire panel with ten (10) different possible STD testing (including the ones I took and offred by Dr. Hustler) all for $150. I was sent to a lab, gave blood and fluids and tomorrow, I'll have the results delivered to me via email. Aditionally, the clinic is located in one of the worst parts of Cental-East Los Angeles (Industrial area: Vernon). When I called in, I was told by the receptionist "it is right next to USC" (cruel joke). The clinic looks from the inside and out as a prison, with bars on every window and door, cameras and motion sensors. Do yourself a huge favor and stay away from this place!!! read more

I went there for travel vaccines (typhoid and hep A). Before leaving the house I called and they reassured me they had plenty of hep A vaccines available and they confirmed their website priced. Anyway, I get there with my boyfriend who was also getting the shots and it turns the advertised price for the typhoid vax was for the pills instead of the shot. Wished they had specified that when I called or on their website (because how the hell could I have known they meant the pills?) but whatever, it's cool. It also turned out that they didn't have "plenty" of hep A vaccines like I'd been told earlier. They only had one left. So my boyfriend and I decided to just get the typhoid vax only for that day and decided we'd come back when they had more. Cue to my coworker suggesting Walmart. Genius. Don't know why didn't think of it a lot sooner. Long story short: Walmart had the hep A for almost $30 cheaper than this place (and about $50 cheaper Thant every other place) and they had me in and out in 20 min. They also actually had plenty in stock. So here's my conclusion: the staff was nice, wish they were better informed tho. It's nice that they open Saturdays and they have a couple of parking spots in the back. Their prices are some of the best around but if must be honest, next time I'll just go to Walmart instead. Better prices, more extended hours for this of us who work full-time. If Walmart didn't have the shots I needed, however, this place would be my next choice for sure. read more

I work in the Medical field as well. We offer std screening and other general screening. For those that don't qualify for our service we (I) do my best to connect them somewhere else where they can receive quality care. When I called I was surprised to hear a medical assistant know very little about the type of teat and screening they offer. I finally got it when the voice on hold said "wait for your question to be answered by the Doctor." 2 stars for pointing that out. read more

I called the morning of asked about cost and apt availability, for some travel immunizations, a friendly young lady answered all my questions and told me to come right in. Same friendly woman greeted me upon entry, I filled out the usual forms, before having a thorough consultation with the dr. This was my fav part bc he didn't try to sell me every possible vaccination he could he told me what I absolutely needed and what he recommended. I appreciated that tremendously, considering each shot can be quite pricey. Oh he also accessed the medical database which is updated daily to make sure he was aware of what I needed based on my region of travel. Thanks for that dr.! Dr. Arani and his staff are sooo nice. Don't let the neighborhood surroundings fool you. His office uses the latest medical equipment, some I've not seen at my doc in Laguna beach. Also, if you need absolute privacy on your medical issues, this is the doctor office for you. There's no computer records of anything, everything is handwritten, that's if anyone can decipher Dr. Arani's handwriting. They're very punctual, no long wait. Easy parking. Charges are extremely reasonable. And Dr. Arani personally calls you day after to follow up to check if you're ok. I HATE getting shots but needed vaccinations for traveling to Asia. A lot of places will charge you for a doctor consultation up to like 75 bucks and that's before you have to pay for the vaccines which are not cheap. This was a free consultation with the actual doctor who was easy to talk to and not pushy to sell things. Still hated getting the shot part, but it was as painless as it could be. I am going to Morocco in June, and needed vaccinations for the trip. I called the Minute Clinic in CVS, and the immunization center in LA, and was shocked at how much Hep A and Typhoid shots cost! I luckily came across this clinic and their prices were the cheapest around. The staff and Dr. Arani were so helpful and chatty.
