This place is pretty cool. The food is pretty good too. But you know what? nothing for me really "stands out" about this place. It's a Korean-fusion type joint that serves your basic korean bar food type fair... skewered chicken (ggo-chi), dduk bokki (rice cakes in hot sauce), soju etc. but they also have korean tacos and stuff too if that's your thing. When we went, it was really really cold. Did not like it. it was so bad that one of the girls in our party tied napkins together to make a makeshift shawl. As far as the service goes. it's really good and attentive. of course we had a HUGE party so they wanted to treat us well so that they could get a sizable tip. I don't know what it's like when it's just two people. Would I personally come here again? probably not on my own volition... but if there was an event here, i probably would. After LA and Seoul, it's kind of hard to find something has hip or cool in the way of korean hang outs in this part of the country. so my review is biased. if you are a newbie to korean food and culture, i think you'd have a good time here. read more

Korean fusion...wow. I'm usually not a big fan of the Asian fusion restaurants but this places does it up good. It is tucked away in a corner that you wouldn't think to go into unless you know it's there. But my sister and I turned into here looking for something else and ended up seeing this place and decided to try it out. So glad that we did! It's was a Thursday night and it was pretty vacant inside which made us a little nervous. We didn't realize it was fusion until we looked at the menu which made me a bit skeptical although they did have a few traditional dishes on the menu as well. But I decided to go for it and I'm a believer of going to restaurants and ordering what they're trying to aim for. Like at a steakhouse you have to get the steak, getting chicken just seems wrong. So I went for the Galbi Tacos which were phenomenal! I really wanted the pork belly ones bc I'm a big fan of pork belly (but then again if you aren't, there must be something wrong with you) but they didn't have any available so I went for the next best thing. And with every bite of that taco was a burst of flavor! I've had Galbi tacos before and it's awkward to eat bc the meat can be chewy and it's hard to bite into the taco without letting the whole thing fall apart. But the meat was so tender and flavorful that eating it was a breeze. And 3 tacos at $9, you can't beat that. I will definitely come back again! read more

DaMOIM is a diamond in the rough. Located in the back of an Asian only strip mall on Columbia Pike in Annandale, you'd never know it's there unless someone told you about it. The menu is very diverse and the prices are reasonable. I ordered the Galbi Jjim which was excellent. It's Korean braised beef short ribs over rice with egg on top. Crack the yoke while the dish is still hot and the egg will cook over the dish. Sides include korean hot sauce, salty black beans, kim chee, and a semi-spicy vegetable dressing. Don't forget to take the shots of Soju while you're there. It's the equivalent of Korean vodka, but sweeter due to the sugars. I plan to come back here to try the rest of the menu. I want to give it 3 stars but there's really nothing special about this place. I love the concept but there needs to be some tweaking. I found most of the dishes bland. My first thought walking into the restaurant was that it smelled like a musty basement. Maybe the AC filter needs to be changed out but it was not pleasant. We had a large party of 10 but were the only ones at the restaurant besides a few older men drinking at the bar. They brought out everyone's dishes at different times about 5-10 minutes apart. The people who got their food first finally started eating so that it wouldn't get too cold and when the last dishes came out they had been done eating for a while. It probably took them an hour to finish serving everyone's food. The menu had a variety of Asian dishes and some Asian fusion such as spicy pork tacos which were pretty good. However, the portions for all the dishes were quite small. I would not return here unless I needed space for a large group to sit and wait for a long time. read more

Was here on a Saturday night at midnight. The place was LOUD but not crowded. The kimchi chili was interesting and really big. It came with some crackers. It is a good dish to share; I don't think I could have and would've wanted to eat that much chili by myself. I'm not a seafood fan but I preferred the seafood bibimbop over the beef one. The seasoning and taste was just right on the seafood one. If you mix it well, you can keep your rice crunchy! Goal for 2011, learn to mix bibimbop. The tacos were all right. This is a Latin-Korean fusion place out in the burbs that apparently turns into an "nss-nss" type club on Friday nights (as indicated by the DJ setting up as we were finishing our dinners). In any event, the staff is super friendly, and very enthusiastic...they were totally all wearing masks when we dined there the Friday before Halloween. They're also really good at pretending they put in your order and the kitchen is just running slow, when in actuality they totally forgot about you because they were busy serving a lady wearing a gazillion carat diamond ring and her friends. But more importantly, the food! It was soo good. No vegetables to speak of, but that was okay. We started with pork belly sliders, which were served on bao bread with some fixings, including julienned apple, and a hoisin sauce. They were really creative and would have been phenomenal, I think, had the pork belly not been cold. The summer rolls were incredibly fresh (and we loved the addition of cilantro and mango), and the skewers came in an addictively tasty sauce. But what really stole the show were the tacos. We got two kinds, the galbi (beef) and the spicy pork. The latter was definitely greasier; both were seriously phenomenal. They are worth a trip all by themselves. First visit. I know this place is Korean fusion, but we stayed on the traditional side -- galbi dolsot bibimbap and mandu gook (dumpling soup). The bibimbap had huge chunks of beef. Way more beef than most other places. The beef was tender and on the sweet side but really really good. The mandu gook was excellent. I didn't count, but there were at least six vegetable dumplings in a mellow, clear broth. Next time I'll branch out and try some of the fusion dishes. Several people ordered the Omurice while we were there. It looks really good. I was curious so I looked it up on Wikipedia...... Apparently it's a Japanese-Western fusion dish of vegetable fried rice wrapped in an omelet with ketchup on top. Yum! read more

Closed on Monday. Just FYI. It breaks my heart. I've been for lunch for the kalbi tacos, kimchi quesadilla and spicy pork quesadillas. The kalbi tacos don't have the best tortillas or best toppings- it's just shredded cheese on a regular flour tortilla. But their kalbi meat is REALLY good....I mean, they definitely focused on the kalbi instead of adding a bunch of random sounding fusion things ("kiimchi slaw", "spicy korean pico de gallo"....u get my point). Quesadillas just prove that cheese is awesome with almost anything!! I haven't been here at night, but my friends prefer it to Ara or other places...maybe because we're all a little older now? The service is always good when I go and my friends say the same at night. I am saddened i didn't get to eat here more when I lived in DC. Saw the WaPo article and had to give it a try. Went at 9pm on a Friday, no problem parking, walked in and got a table w/no problem. Kind of trendy chic decor. I'm 50 and was easily the oldest patron there. Easy enough to carry on a convo, two TVs behind the bar. The food was pretty good, let's get that out front. One small dish of edamame, not the usual assortment of small dishes that I have been accustomed to. Had the Kimchi Quesadilla and the Kalbi and the Pork tacos. They were...different, but they weren't Korean. I don't think I've ever had any kind of cheese in a Korean restaurant, and I hit Annandale every chance I get. my wife was so culture shocked, she had to order something straight Korean to get her head back in the game. She ordered the seafood pancake, and that was very good. It is what it is. The food was OK, but not worth coming all the way up from Stafford to get. I like all the hubub in the places I usually go, with the waitresses in Hanbok, and the Korean customs and culture. If that's your comfort zone, you won't find it here. read more

3.5 stars. I like their "try something new" attitude. They serve interesting fare with the Korean/Mexican fusion. Normally, I don't like "fusion" places because it's just an excuse to charge you extra, but their dishes here aren't too pricey. I would recommend the JAEYOOK QUESADILLA but I would also recommend their KIMCHEE FRIED RICE WITH EGG ON TOP (not on the menu). You'll have to ask for it special order, but man was that delicious and hit the spot. It's probably the one thing that saved this review. Happy Hour specials are pretty good too. So next time I see a lot of traffic on 495, I'll swing by here afterward to have a few dranks until the traffic dies. Although the Korean tacos are an interesting attempt, it didn't quite please my palate. Out of the three that I've tried, I liked the JAEYOOK TACOS the best, but it's not that great. I've heard of all the rage of the Korean Taco Cart in LA, but I guess I'll have to try it out there to see what the hub-bub is about. Service is slow like all the other reviews say. Korean tacos? what?! About time, well at least in the DC area. We stopped by on a quiet Saturday afternoon to grab some lunch and the place was pretty much empty. As others have said, this place is very modern looking with up to date decor and furniture. This place easily has a "lounge" vibe to eat and can see that at night. Towards, the back, I saw one karaoke room, if that interests you. We were the first to arrive of the party and put in an order for 16 pieces of fried chicken (the menu notes it may take up to 30 minutes, it was sure darn close to that with us being the only ones there). There are two flavors, sweet or spicy. Do not expect ginormous legs or wings here, but these are the normal joe size you would see. The chicken overall was good, but not as good as Bon Chon's, since I think they do it differently. But you get a very nice crispy skin, covered in the sauce of your choice. Of the two, spicy wins, but the sweet wasn't too far behind. I dunked my fries in the sauce to avoid wasting the goodness. Let's see: kimchi chili, kimchi sliders, galbi jim, galbi tacos, jaeyook tacos, and jaeyook quesadillias. Oh yeah, the fried chicken too. Kimchi chili - ordinary chili with pieces of napa, if you get this, make sure you get a piece of napa in your bite or you'll only taste chili you can brew at home Kimchi sliders - patty cooked well, at least for me. they were done medium/medium-well. the caramelized kimchi was kind of hidden and the simple mayo was overpowering it to me. Galbi jim - tasted a small piece, kind of dry and tough. the meat wasn't falling off of the bone. Galbi tacos - galbi meat was a tad sparse. if it had a few more thicker cuts, this could be better. i enjoyed the touch of cilantro and scallions in it. and of course the cheese. it comes with a side of sour cream and a green salsa, which was kind of boring to me. Jaeyook quesadilla - this was done well. the nice spicy pork, melted in the cheeses was awesome. again, served with sour cream and salsa. Jaeyook tacos - this was the WINNER for me. just like the galbi tacos but with spicy pork and a nice amount too. The flavors meshed well together, again I RECOMMEND these. I am tasting it as I type here. Since we were here on a Saturday afternoon, the service was good. Water cups refilled, server (and at times the bartender) would come by and see how we're doing. They gave us some extra french fries (steak cut btw). This place is not expensive for the stuff you get. We devoured all this food. Again, Jaeyook tacos! Definitely will come by here again to try some other items. If you're looking for more of a meal, they off that here too. However, wifey was looking for one of the dish, which I cannot remember, and the bartender said they didn't have it. I couldn't give it a 4-star as some of the food was only okay to me. read more

To be honest, I didn't think I was going to like this place that much. I remember when this property was a K-pop arcade with DDR machines and frequent Korean clique fights, and I guess that influenced my opinion a little bit. And I've always been skeptical of Korean businesses, as an American-born Korean whose heard his share of "twinkie" and "banana" remarks, and seen how questionable Korean-run businesses can be. DaMoim puts a lot of complexes behind with my recent experience, and I'm pleased to say that I'd like to go back the next time I'm back up in my old stomping grounds. The atmosphere is leaning more towards chic and modern, and they have an extremely stocked bar, for alcoholics. Space is sparse, so there really isn't that much seating, but I went on a Sunday afternoon, so it wasn't a factor in my visit. What drew me to DaMoim in the first place was hearing the words "Korean tacos." That being said, I ordered the galbi tacos, with a friend of mine ordering spicy pork. Admittedly, it wasn't really so much fusion as much as it was replacing typical taco beef with galbi, but it doesn't change the fact that it was still tasty and felt like good quality. The spicy pork seemed more fusion-y with actual kimchi inside the taco, and was pretty good too. So the food was not really that creative or unique, but it still tasted good, and I'd gladly go back to try more. The thing I most appreciated about the place was the service. Great service. I get the impression that the man manning the bar was also the owner, and he was friendly and engaging, and willing to converse and chat sports with my friend and I. He spoke perfect English, and I didn't get that vibe of "twinkie bringing white friend" from him which was awesome. Especially in the heart of Annandale, with a wide roster of Korean restaurants run by second-generation Koreans who are reluctant and even shy away from serving non-Koreans, DaMoim's openness and welcoming to everyone, is a gigantic plus in my book. My group of five came here for dinner on a Friday night. Got there around 7:30, we couldn't get a table, but there was plenty of bar seating. Definitely more of a bar that serves food than a restaurant with a bar. The decor is modern and the atmosphere was relaxing. I liked the music, which got progressively more techno as the night went on. There was ample parking. First off, I really must make a note about the service. Though a little slow, it was extremely friendly. As the only non-Asian group in the entire place (I'm half, but you can hardly tell by looking), we were still treated very well. Lots of smiles, joking, helpful suggestions and free wine samples. The bartender that evening was awesome to us. Everyone spoke English fluently. This type of service isn't always the case in Annandale/Korean restaurants, so it stood out very positively to me. Now the food! We came mostly for the fusion factor, and were very satisfied by what we ordered. There was an order of typical style mandu (fried dumplings) which was very tasty. The fried chicken (half order of spicy, half order of regular) were pretty good. It's not Bonchon, but the seasonings were good and my friends who have not had KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) liked it very much. We ordered the three types of tacos and the two types of quesadillas to share. All the tacos were very good, and I was surprised to find that the chicken tacos were my favorite. My bet would have been the kalbi tacos, as kalbi is my choice for my final meal on earth. The marinade for the chicken tacos, however, won my tastebuds for the evening as the flavors of garlic and soy sauce (definitely one of the best combinations in the world, next to chocolate + peanut butter) was very present. The kalbi version was on the sweet side, and the pork was interesting but not as good as the chicken, in my opinion. Of the two quesadillas, the kimchi version is hands down my favorite. The pork was decent, but something about that carmelized kimchi made the regular chedder and Jack cheeses taste earthier and aged. Bonus: the kimchi quesadilla is a happy hour special! I'm usually skeptical of places that are empty but I came with a friend who said he comes a couple times a month and it has never disappointed. I was in a soupy mood so I didn't try anything fusion, or even Korean for that matter. I got the shrimp tempura udon which was delicious. They didn't skimp on the variety or amount of fish cakes, the noodles were the perfect consistency, and the broth was flavorful without being too salty. My friend had the spicy chicken stew which was also delicious. I wish I was hungrier so I could eat more. The service was really great - the waiter let us linger long after we finished our food and gave us space to chat while still refilling water, tea, and banchan. We each ended up paying $12 including tip which is a great deal for a tasty dinner, with great service, in a nice restaurant. read more

My party and I ordered the pork tacos, japchae, galbi, and veggies. Of those, the pork tacos were the tastiest. The galbi was a bit dry and hard to cut. The japchae was solid but I've had better at Adam's Express in Mt. Pleasant. Split between 3 people, our bill was only $36! Pretty inexpensive given the portion sizes. I love the ambiance. Clean, modern,and artsy. Service was good--kind, attentive, and they showed that they cared about the patrons. I have 2 problems with the food. 1) ALL of the food was on the sweet side. Galbi taco was really sweet, but man, pork taco was extremely sweet that it wasn't even edible. 2) taco is already a messy food to eat (in my opinion). No matter how hard you try, things will fall out and you have to tilt your head to the side to eat. Having 3" long pieces of meat in the tacos makes it 100x worse because whether you take small or large bites, the rest of the meat comes out along with lettuce, cheese, etc. If the meat was chopped in smaller pieces, it may have work better. Galbi jjim--again a little on the sweet side for me, had a beautiful presentation. The beef needed to be braised a bit longer--i had hard time pulling the meat away from the bone. It's a huge disappointment when the best thing I had was the onion rings. read more

Me and about 8 friends went in on a Friday to celebrate my birthday with drinks and karaoke. The room was large and clean and we liked the music selection. We purchased four hours and they gave us an extra hour for free. Service was great and the food was delicious. While I highly recommend DaMoim, I'm only giving 4 stars because it was very pricey. $50 an hour for the rooms and $16 for a bottle of $6 soju. Worth it for a fun treat. read more

More like 3.5 stars, but I'll round up as I've been there more than once, so that has to mean something, right? The interior is very nice, which I say as I see from other reviews of local Korean places comments like "dump" and "hole-in-the-wall". They have a nice, full bar, beautiful atmosphere, and wonderful service. Food is great! I'm unsure of how Korean should be, but I will say - any meat I have tried has lots of flavor, but outside of that, it's dependent upon what sauces you add. The sliders are phenomenol. I saw a few comments about them being bland - agree to an extent, but they are simple and weirdly that's what I like about them. The kabobs are fuggin' amazing! The bowls served in stone bowls are so-so...they lack a lot of flavor. I would say adding more side sauces or having some on the table all the time would help. This is a nicer, sit down, date kind of Korean fusion place that I would highly recommend! read more

This place was great, the food was awesome and the service was always impeccable if not a bit spotty on process. We have come here several times since finding the place and will continue to do so. The owner and the staff are always very friendly and the atmosphere is great. My only advice is to pay closer attention to the orders and when they come out. If we are drinking and ordering an appetizer don't show up with the main course and only for one person at the table and no appetizers. A little more training and attention is necessary. Otherwise as I pointed out, the food and the service is always great and the prices are very reasonable. I first rated this place in 2013. It was really good and amazing food and the service attempted to be spot on but due to language barriers it got a bit iffy and you never really knew what would be delivered. Unfortunately success has changed everything. The food quality is diminishing. For example the Korean tacos no longer use the doughy Asian taco shell they originally did, now its the thin cheep flour wraps. Additionally the service is still quite spotty and rarely gets the table orders right. The owner who used to be very attentive and on top of things is spending his time instead with his friends at the bar and outside on cigarette break. A shame since this really has the potential to be as good as it was and just needs that continued attention to keep it where it was and not cut corners. read more

3.5 stars. I'm titillated by this place. It's good now, has the potential to become great, and we were happy with our overall experience. I am a huge Asian food freak, but I admit to being sadly uneducated about Korean food in particular. So my review here isn't based on a wealth of knowledge or experience in that arena. But I sure do know my way around Mexican fare, and the marriage of the two at DaMoim turned out to be a surprising success. The atmosphere is quite nice and modern. Décor is like a hip Asian lounge in blacks, neutrals, and reds, which I found pleasing. DaMoim's service is really good in that the servers are tremendously friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. But they're also spacey. There were big gaps of time between appearances at our table (but not so bad that we were irritated). When I asked what seafood was in the Haemool Dolsot Bibimbap, neither of the two servers at the table could answer. We ordered a domestic beer and the Kimchi Quesadilla within the happy hour pricing parameters, but when the check came we'd been charged full price for both and had to ask the server to fix it. Which he *was* all too happy to do, though. We were pretty satisfied with the variety of food we sampled at DaMoim, too, and even more satisfied by the really reasonable prices. We ordered the vegetarian Mandoo and the Kimchi Quesadilla to start. Our server told us they had run out of the vegetarian Mandoo, so we ordered the crab and shrimp Spring Rolls instead. Moments later our server returned to let us know that a delivery of veg Mandoo had just arrived, and asked if we'd like to order them. Yes, we would! We assumed he'd know to 86 the Spring Rolls in favor of the Mandoo, but true to his spacey form he didn't. So we looked like fat Americans when our three appetizers arrived at the table...they were all good, but I enjoyed the Kimchi Quesadilla most of the three. The jack and cheddar cheeses weren't heavy-handed and they were gorgeously melted, providing the perfect glue to hold together the lightly crisped tortillas and the pungent, tangy kimchi. Husband and I both thought the combination worked really well. As for the other two apps, husband preferred the Mandoo with its vermicelli and spinach filling, and ridiculously thin and crunchy wonton wrapper; I preferred the flavor of the delicate, dainty Spring Rolls, and the contrast of crackling shell to soft, seafoody filling. For an entrée, husband ordered the Jaeyook Tacos with sweet, spicy pork. He enjoyed the Mexico-meets-Korea flavors, and the tender pieces of pork with an almost pulled texture. I sampled the Haemool Dolsot Bibimbap which -- in case you were wondering like I was -- included shrimp, squid, and mussels in addition to the rice and julienned veggies. It arrived piping hot in a big, stone bowl with Gochujang mixing sauce. To me it tasted like a mixture of my three favorite condiments: ketchup, Sriracha, and sesame seeds. I poured the whole thing into the Bibimbap and mixed. Flavors were good, but they didn't blow me away. Seafood was very fresh, however, and the portion ginormous so I was able to take half home. The Bibimbap also came with miso soup (fine); pickled radish (excellent); dried squid in some kind of teriyaki-ish paste (I loved); kimchi (very good); and black beans (say wha? Yeah, black beans that tasted like a Korean version of baked beans. Curiously tasty and satisfying.). I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the "Black Korean" I ordered, made with soju and Kahlúa. It was so fabulous. So, for one of my few forays into Korean food, DaMoim was a nice experience. We'll certainly be back. read more

just when i was missing san francisco's wacky food fusion combos, like indian-mexican, chinese-mexican, japanese-mexican (okay, maybe i just like mexican), i was shown a spot - in annandale, no less - where they're doing fun, korean fusion while nobody's looking. damoim is literally off the beaten path; tucked away in the back of a strip mall off of columbia pike. the place was practically empty, so there was no wait for a table. the mandoo meat dumplings were really nice, with a crispy fried edge and savory filling. and i enjoyed both the bulgogi tacos and the sooyook sliders, but the sliders were my definite favorite, probably of the entire meal. those four bites of steamed bun, unctuous pork belly, cucumber, apples, and scallions were some of the best bites i've had in a while. i barely even tried the spicy chicken (buldahk) because i was so full at that point, but the little taste i got was pretty good. obviously it's way too far for me to go to on any kind of regular basis. but for my friends who are not vehicularly-challenged, go forth and enjoy! read more

If you've been following my food adventures (who am I kidding? who in their right mind would ever be that bored?), you'll notice that I've been to the Kogi truck in LA. Over-rated, clap clap...clap clap clap. I'm glad that this place does more than that. Because I love you people, I'm willing to expand my stomach. Here's a list of everything I ate. 1) Galbi tacos- pretty tasty. Like most tacos, not a whole lot of meat. They had galbi cubes in them which were pretty tender and flavorful. These tacos were bigger than the ones I had in LA but also more expensive. The tacos in LA were 1.25 each and here, they were 3 for 8 bucks. They were filled with a cabbage mix and served with some type of green salsa with a dallop of sour cream. Overall, they were good and worth a try. 2) Spicy pork tacos- these were better than the galbi tacos but not very spicy. The pork was more flavorful than the galbi tacos. 3) Kimchi quesadilla- definitely interesting flavor. The combination of cheese and kimchi worked for me although some of my table mates weren't exactly fans. 4) Spicy pork quesadilla- would recommend this over the kimchi quesadilla. I liked the spicy pork here flavor-wise even though it wasn't very spicy. 5) Chicken wings- we ordered the spicy, and again the recurring theme was very mild spice level. The wings took 30 minutes to prepare but were not on the same level as Bon Chon. They were good though and worth waiting 30 minutes for especially if you don't have to deal with the service at Bon Chon. 6) Galbi skewers- these were the best bang for your buck. The skewers had beef and some veggies. I would go with these over the tacos mainly because I'm a meat eater and don't care about the tortilla. 7) Galbi jjim- this was ordered by one of my table-mates and was basically a large rib. The meat was incredibly tender and basically fell off the bone with very little effort put into removal. The meat was marinated very well. 8) Kimchi chili- basically tasted like regular chili with a minor amount of kimchi thrown in. Interesting, but I wouldn't order it again. Definitely made the tacos better by throwing this chili on them. 9) Mussels in garlic and sake- mussels were prepared well and the garlic and sake provided a very mild flavor that didn't detract from the mussel flavor. Not bad. There are definitely a bunch of things worth trying on the menu especially considering they are things you won't find at other places. Service was very good. I attribute this to the fact that this place is still new and hasn't had a chance to get packed yet. Decor looks pretty clean but the place is pretty small. The place can maybe seat 20-30 people. We didn't try any beverages of the alcohol variety. They had 3 tv's set up with sports and news. The parking lot is small (but parking shouldn't be that hard to find), and I remember this place being a Hapkido place back in the day. Overall, I would recommend this place to try at least once. It definitely beats the Kogi trucks and you don't have to follow this place on Twitter. I still don't see what the big deal is about Korean tacos...whatever. You can just make them at home yourself. read more

Came here on a random week night because I was craving kimchi fried rice. Ordered the rice, seafood pancake and seafood bibimbap, and everything was delicious. The service was kind of slow (which was strange because the place was almost empty), but the quality of the ingredients and food made up for it. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for some Korean home cooking. read more

Heard about their Korean fusion and I had to check it out. We ordered mandoo (dumplings), hamool pajeon (seafood pancake), jaeyook (spicy pork) quesadillas and Kalbi (short rib) tacos. My fav was def the kalbi tacos. The service was great. We even sang a few songs in the karaoke room for free. Def going back!! read more

They make lots of modernized, korean fusion food such as bulgogi tako and etc etc.

We tried a majority of the fusion items and the general consensus was that it was fairly unimpressive. Maybe my expectations were too high. The idea of Korean and Mexican fusion sounds pretty cool however when I ate the 2 of the three available types of tacos, two of the slider options, and the bul-dog, I felt that the flavors were slapped together without much thought. For example, if you took a soft taco from Taco Bell and replaced the ground beef with kalbi, you'd have their Kalbi Taco. Totally serious. Isn't that a little boring? But then again... What was I hoping for? Considering the number of reviews and high rating, I guess I was just expecting something amazing. read more

I am a big fan of DaMoim for two reasons. I love the ambiance with the nice bar and that it's a well stocked bar of spirits and a wide variety of wine. A welcome change from the usual beer and soju options. The second reason - their chicken wings. I think they are way better than Bon Chon's wings (and not as grotesquely huge as BC's mutant wings). They are super crispy and flavored well - although, the spicy IS very spicy, watch out! read more
