    Pretty okay place in Annandale. Not much flavors for the soup but the chicken was pretty good. Had to put the jalapenos in the soup to have more impact. Nice staff at least

    Overall - Dined July 2024 for pre-fix ($75/person) dinner. - While the food is nicely prepared and service excellent for a hole-in-the-wall restaurant, it isn't worth the price tag. Food - All the dishes were very good and nice variety, but the portions overall were small, finishing the meal still hungry. - Most Asian restaurants are generally family-style, but this is a pre-fixed menu with no substitutions. Not worth going with a group any larger than 2 since you don't have the benefit of trying multiple different dishes. You are basically committed to the tapas selected for you. - No substitutions is a killer because even though they ask about dietary restrictions, they recommend just not eating the dishes that you can't eat. Service - Our waiter was very, very nice. Ambiance - This dining experience is confusing. Trying to be an upscale, pre-fixed menu in a hole-in-the-wall venue. - Maybe if you put the food and service in an upscale restaurant or keep the venue and have this be an a là carte menu or drop the price, it would have better value. - Would recommend either going to a true family-run, authentic Korean restaurant or a real fine-dining restaurant.

    My mom and I came here on December 28 2023 for a celebratory dinner in honor of her retirement. She's old school Korean, so I wasn't sure if she would like the "fusion" aspect of it, but she loved it and had been raving about the food to everyone. So it's got umma's approval! We had a reservation but we didn't actually need one; there were only one or two other tables that had customers. Not sure if it was just because it was an awkward holiday date between Xmas and New Year..? This place definitely deserves all the patronage. Decor was simple and elegant. Service was friendly and quick. I had mentioned in my reservation notes that it was for my mom's retirement, and they gave us two flutes of Prosecco on the house. I loved that the Bossam came with the perfect amount of wraps, including perilla leaves. The beet dip was sweet and savory and tasted so fresh. Noodles in the kimchi beef pasta were chewy and delicious (and for anyone who is spice-averse--it's not spicy at all!). The dessert was also perfectly sweet and nutty. I personally don't like coconut flavors (unless it's coconut curry, idk why) but the coconut played well with the other flavors! I'm going back again tonight with my mom on her suggestion--they've definitely got a new fan in her (and me!). Check their website for special event dinners, like Valentine's Day! I wish they had their menu on their website; that's the only thing I find lacking.

    KenScale: 7.5/10 Visit: January 2023 After we moved to the DC metro area a couple of years ago, my wife Jun and I have often visited Annandale in Virginia for weekend grocery shopping. Having done a Korean grocery shopping at a tiny H Mart store in Koreatown when we lived in Manhattan, Jun was pleasantly shocked to see gigantic Korean grocery stores in this town with a large Korean immigrant population. On the other hand, we struggled to find a go-to Korean restaurant in the area. Part of that has to do with Jun's awesome cooking at home, but also given our Korean heritage the bar we set for a Korean restaurant can be impossibly high at times. Could Incheon, which was featured in Washington Post's 2021 Fall Dining Guide, finally break the spell of mediocre Korean restaurants in Annandale? Our recent visit unfortunately left us wanting for more. We were hoping that the five-course tasting menu from the kitchen led by chef Justin Ahn (a relative bargain at $70 per person at the time of our visit) would show a nice combination of traditional and modern in our native cuisine. What we didn't expect was that the menu was geared a lot more toward pan-Asian than Korean. Yes, we grew up eating fried snacks, but the lamb croquette with mushroom and parmigiano was unmistakably Italian in its essence, even though it was actually quite delicious. While the second dish of green curry noodle with an assortment of seafood was also capably executed, it brought us memory of our college years when we first countered Thai food instead of our childhood when we would've had Korean noodle dishes such as kalgooksoo. Things started to go downhill from there. While Jun and I both love duck breast, we weren't sure it was the best match to the lettuce ssam where we would normally have pork or beef. The worst dish was the last savory course, a version of Hainanese chicken rice that didn't really have anything Korean in its plating or flavor. It was a very puzzling decision to put this on the menu at a Korean restaurant. The dessert of the night, a chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream, was solid on the other hand. The restaurant is open only three days a week from Thursday through Saturday, but it won't be terribly difficult to secure a reservation so long as you don't book at the last minute. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also somewhat strange; Jun thought this place might've originally been a Korean pub that got re-purposed into a restaurant. You can complement your meal with Korean-inspired cocktails or spirits, and there is a wine pairing too that was decent but not particularly memorable. Maybe we showed up on the wrong night but we sincerely wished Incheon showed us more in terms of what the kitchen do with Korean flavor and ingredients. It was certainly hard to characterize the restaurant, at least based on our visit, as a quintessential Korean restaurant. Our search for a favorite Korean restaurant in the DC area continues.

    My friend experienced Incheon's tasting menu and recommended it to me, so we made a reservation and came in on a weekday. The restaurant was completely empty, so I don't think it's necessary to make a reservation. They are not doing the tasting menu anymore, so you can order whatever you'd like to. It's tapas style with the plates being kind of small so make sure you order a lot! I thought the atmosphere was great and I love the vibe of a more upscale Korean restaurant. The food was pretty great and I loved the service. I'd definitely recommend coming back. - Kimchi Pasta: 5/5, my favorite - Octopus: 4/5, some parts were better than others... didn't seem too special or Korean - Leeks: 5/5, this was a unique dish that I loved - Mushrooms: 5/5, loved the mixture of mushrooms and ricotta - Pate: 3/5, I would not order this again. It was a cool thing to order but the taste wasn't anything special

    It pains me to write this since I rarely give reviews under 4 stars and like to give places a solid chance before I leave reviews, but my most recent visit left an unpleasant impression. I had heard about incheon for a while and been meaning to try it. It was my friends birthday and we decided to try this spot together. The food was good and the wait staff were beyond friendly and attentive. HOWEVER the thing that threw me off was the table sat in the front filled with staff. My friend and I Ubered dessert from cents taro since it looked like we weren't going to make it before closing and as it was her birthday, I wanted to make sure she got the dessert she wanted. So we spontaneously ordered it to be dropped off to us outside of the restaurant at a time we expected to be done by (30 mins after we received our last entree.) They were doing a tasting for a new potential dish so the dining experience lasted longer than we had expected. Around the time the check came, my Uber order also arrived and I had to leave quickly to accept it. As it was my friends birthday, I made sure to give her my card and needed to come back to sign for the meal. Without thinking, I quickly went back in. That's when I overheard a conversation from the table at the front about "customers bringing in outdoor food... if they open it they're out of here... customers aren't always right... restaurants have to be firm these days." As a paying customer that has been nothing but appreciative of the staff and the overall meal experience, that was the last thing I expected to overhear (and it was said in a volume where customers could easily overhear). It made me feel extremely uncomfortable and unwelcome. We had absolutely no intention of opening any outdoor food for the matter. I had enjoyed my experience up to this moment, but as someone with parents who owned a restaurant, this felt extremely in appropriate and rude. Disappointing because I had high expectations. That comment ruined the night for my friend and I.

    Very cute inside. It was not busy at all, but it might be due to the hours posted here- they are definitely open, but Yelp has the store as closed til Tuesday. Food was good, but I was expecting more. It's been two years since I've been here, so I was looking forward to the bossam and other dishes I had before. The concept has completely changed and the dishes I remember are no longer offered. Got pollock stew, bulgogi, noodles (but I forgot what kind) and dumplings. I always look forward to the bon chon when I have Korean food, so I was a little disappointed because they have very few offerings compared to other places. Not bad, just not what I was expecting

    Yumm!! This place is a hidden gem!! Looking for Korean food that's not your typical Korean food? Not Korean bbq or fried chicken. This is the place! Korean food inspired with twist! But not all the food was meant to be Korean flavored. It was like the chef was creating a Korean menu, and then was like, I like mushroom toast, and added that to the menu! I really enjoyed everything we had. Seems like they've come out with a new menu! Our server, Kevin was great! So kind proper and attentive. He made you feel like you were dining at a 5 star restaurant! We tried a bunch of different items! I failed and got too eager to eat and forgot to take pics of some foods. We also tried the potato chips, shrimp toast, ribs and steak. My favs was the shrimp toast, mushroom toast, ribs, and pasta! Shrimp toast reminded me of those dim sum crab/shrimp balls but on a toast. Not sure what about it, but it was pretty tasty! I love mushroom so this one was obvi a fav. Ribs was easy to eat off the bone, had a little spice to it. Pasta looked so simple but the flavor was really tasty! Who would've thought kimchi would be a tasty pasta! You could tell the food was made with love! Even the drinks were tasty. I enjoyed the milk punch. A plus were told that this makgeolli is the brand in the US that is licensed to make it. So they make it a point to go to Brooklyn to pick up a case! I would definitely come back! I want to try their bossam! Delicious all around!

    What a beautiful restaurant hidden in the heart of old school Annandale! Growing up there wasn't even a remote possibility of having an elevated Korean fusion restaurant... but here we are in 2023! I think there will be an entirely different experience for Korean Americans who grew up eating authentic Korean food and foodies who love venturing out to try the new fusion restaurants who offer elevated French and culinary techniques... I thought the food was beautifully designed and executed. It used the primary ingredients of Korean cuisine while adding textures and mixtures of other flavors not commonly found in Korean food. The food was beautiful to look at and a delight to eat. The shrimp toast was spectacular... it's warmth, subtle saltiness and sweetness! Perfect. The cook of the pork belly was perfect and the Sous Vide Octopus was to die for... so so tender! The Radish, Korean pear Ceviche was so refreshing and crisp... I would have loved it if it was served on top of a chilled soba or even naengmyun noodles. Perfect pairing! My least favorite... thought creative was the Daenjang (bean paste) soup with Burrata cheese... it just didn't come together well. The Korean sweet potato pie was perfect and the citrus whipped cream would have been perfect except it was too acidic... a more subtle little sweeter acidic whipped cream would have been perfect... but it was too sour. But the pie was AMAZING! It is conceptually beautiful and thoughtful and I can't wait for the next iteration... thankful for the chef's willingness to always push the culinary boundaries! Service is amazing and attentive! Come check it out!

    Most of the food was amazing. Service was impeccable and super friendly and attentive. Highly recommend the perfectly cooked medium rare steak, with sat on a pile of delicious goguma with a spicy chimichurri sauce. The incheon burger was dripping with aioli and the meat and bread was soft and tender. The shrimp toast was unique with a Vietnamese twist (they definitely use fish sauce!) There were some dishes I could do without: the ribs were tender on a pile of vinegar cabbage. The red sauce flavor just didn't do it for me. The mushrooms were pretty good with the toasted bread and whipped feta cheese. It's unique but not my cup of tea. I appreciated it though! The Bossam was pretty expensive -- so while the radish was good and the meat quality was also good, it didn't feel worth the cost. Overall 4/5 as I will return to try other dishes! I enjoyed how unique the dishes were!

We arrived early and scored prime seats by the bar, which turned out to be perfect, especially once the night shifted into more of a club vibe with a DJ. The energy was great, and most of the food was surprisingly delicious -- everything hit except the jjampong. We were expecting udon noodles, but it came with thin, clear noodles instead, and the flavor was a bit off for us. That said, the staff handled everything perfectly, and it didn't take away from the rest of the experience. Between the food, drinks, and nightlife atmosphere, we had an awesome time and will definitely be back. If you're looking for a spot that delivers on both taste and fun without compromise, this is it.

It explains why the restaurant was empty vs. full house when it first opened. Honestly, any Korean restaurant in the DMV area is better than this. I don't understand how someone can screw up Korean food in Korean town. Every restaurant in the area gets better and better. Competition is high. The price is on the high end. I don't mind paying even more but please deliver in terms of food quality. They are 100x worse than my last 5 visits a while back. I'm a foodie with over 5k dmv followers. Please take this as a feedback to improve. I dine out everyday reviewing restaurants. When I say this is bad, this is bad. That's why this review comes from my 1 star review account. Back to 19xx.

I love the rice they use and the other ingredients are always fresh. They are generous with their portions. The chicken fried rice comes with a side of fresh onions and I some kind of pickled daikon (I think), a little tart, a little sweet and a nice crisp bite. Super yummy! And a side of ja-jang, I believe that is what it is. Very good and I eat it separately.
