We also get their gomtang (oxtail soup) and it is also really yummy. We've had other dishes like the kalbi and seafood pancake and they are just okay. We will keep coming back for the bossum and that is reason enough for us! The service is quick and the women that work there are always super nice and they tell us how to eat the dishes we order. Plenty of seats available since I was the only customer. I ordered to go because I heard their jokbal was good there. Mines didn't turn out so well but I was told to go ahead and ask them if they made it fresh so maybe I can try again some other time. It was really quiet where the staff was literally taking a nap. This place is really awesome. I came here initially expecting to visit Stone Tofu House, only to find that it had permanently closed! So we tried this place instead, and omg I'm glad I did. We ordered the Kalguksu and the Soondubu with the Soondae. This place specializes in its Soondae which we learned is Korean Sausage. The portions are huge! The Kalguksu was so rejuvenating, and the Soondubu had a really deep/complex flavor profile that I hadn't had before and it was really delicious. I highly recommend people try place out! read more

Seoul Soondae was the perfect place for a big group this past Sunday for lunch. With a party of 11, we were able to order a big platter of soondae and bossam to share while getting our own entrees. The server was quick and brought us banchan (kimchi, seaweed, potatoes, and radish) once she got our orders. I enjoyed the kimchi, seaweed, and potatoes a lot. PICK 2: SOONDAE + BOSSAM - 29.99 I've never had soondae before but wow I really like it! There was a lot of vermicelli noodles in our soondae which went well with the spiced salt and spicy dipping sauce. The bossam was also super tasty and fatty. I definitely prefer the soondae more, but it was good to have a variety. Wrapping them in napa cabbage was a nice touch. This was a great platter to share with a larger group. Individual portions are also available. Next time, I'll probably get my own portion with the soondae soup. BULGOGI TTUKBAEGI - 15.99 My friend made bulgogi ttukbaegi for me a few weeks back using a pretty simple recipe. I was excited to see it on the menu and wanted to see if it would be any different. Funny enough, it tasted like the one my friend made and it was good! However, this also means that I can make it myself at home, so I probably won't get it again next time. However, for those who want a sweeter meat broth with a lot of onions, carrots, and green onions, I'd recommend this. It was hearty and tasty! A lot of my friends got the BUDAE JJIGAE which hit the spot with a lot of people here. I thought it was pretty good - a bit more on the sour side, though, and the broth was a bit too watery. Some people ended up getting a side order of ramen (+2) since the budae jjigae comes with glass noodles, not ramen. Another friend ordered a HAEMUL SOONDUBU JJIGAE and it was surprisingly tasty for a restaurant that isn't known for their soondubu. My friends and I came in to the restaurant on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is quite empty. We ordered various dishes, the spicy pork feet is my favorite!!! It is so delicious and tender. My friends shared the cold noodle, and they really like the flavor. First time trying sundae and it is very delicious, highly recommend if you want to give a shot. I think their army stew is quite normal ( not bad, but just average, nothing stands out). We don't like their fried dumplings- it's completely plain and no flavor. This place is known for their pork bone and potato soup and soondae. They're both really good. The combination platter on the appetizer menu is great. A little fatty pork, some trotter and blood sausage. It's really nice for me because I want a little bit of everything. The sides here are good. Today we ordered a small portion of soondae and Beef Rib soup. The soondae was dry and there was not much meat in the soup. The broth lacked the taste I look for in those types of Korean soups. Eh...Pictures can always be deceiving..and perhaps its just because we are not accustomed to Korean Palates. The BF and I decided to try a new place because it had gotten such rave reviews and the photos looked good. What reviews didn't say were that items were a bit on the pricier side for the portion that you receive. Now if you look at the photos I took it makes the dish look a bit larger then it really was. Mom was surprised by her udon soup in that she was like it looks like a huge bowl but behind all those slices of fish cake were a few noodles and an egg. BF ordered the ox tail bone soup and was highly disappointed it was so small. Lucky for him he decided to get the Donkatsu...Oh but that was about 15.99. Myself I ordered the buddae jjigae which was overly acidic...I mean I like sour stuff...and Kimchi doesnt bother me but I felt like I was consuming hot kombucha. Lets put it this way if your looking for soondae or bossam this is the place. But if your looking for other korean dishes. It is probably best to search the rest of annandale to find a more affordable and better option. Our 4 dishes set us back about $50+ tax. One of my go-to Korean food spots in Annandale! My all time favorite would have to be the gamjatang (spicy pork bone soup), but I went for something a bit different today- Buddae jjigae (Army based stew). It hit the spot- I was craving some spicy korean soup!! The kimchi was a bit sour for my taste, but it satisfied my Korean food needs!! They have both individual serving and sharing sizes for both of these menu items! Great for either going with with family/friends or by yourself. Their Soondae (blood sausage) is the best in town & I love how it doesn't smell in the restaurant. Overall, if you are looking for a Korean restaurant with a verity of different soups or some Soondae/Jokbal (pig's feet), this is the place to go. I will say, there was a period of time where the service was lacking, the food wasn't as good, and the appearance of the dining space was less than ideal. The jungshik comes with korean blood sausage and intestines which is an acquired taste but I like it but the haemul pajeon is just ok here. Jokbal is cooked and seasoned very well, not too overcooked and mushy like some other places we tried. Same with soondae. Both dishes have very good flavor and texture. I do wish it was more fresh, but all in all it's good food. We also ordered the fried soondae. This was really good and I loved it. Even though I have had better. It is still pretty good. It is soondae fried in a spicy sauce with various vegetables and noodles. Lastly, we ordered the pork wraps. The pork was pretty tender and soft, but again I have had better. This is a hidden gem in northern Virginia. My buddy and I actually came across this place by accident after finding many other Korean barbecue places too full. We navigated to this plaza because of a pho place. But we were craving Korean barbecue instead, so here we came. The place was not too crowded, so we were seated right away. We were delighted to find that this place carries my favorite Korean wine (check pics). We ordered some beef ribs and spicy chicken. It took about five minutes to get the meat, but we munched on the side dishes in the meantime. The wine was as smooth as ever, and added the perfect complement to the meal. The meal hit the spot, but did not leave me feeling too comatose. The customer service was great, and I would return to eat here again. read more

You read that right - ramen, tofu, spam, sausage, and kimchi in a kimchi broth! It's as good as it sounds. Meant to be shareable for the table, it's $29.99 and worth every single penny. We also shared a soondae bokeum ($16.99), or stir-fried soondae (Korean blood sausage) with veggies. The taste of soondae is quite mild and if you haven't had soondae before, I think trying it here is a good idea. Also if you never had jokbal or pig feet before, this restaurant does that too. Would definitely come back for more soondae and certainly more budae jeongol. A lot of reviews mention that the cleanliness and service is somewhat less than desirable but I had no trouble with service and while I would not lick off the floor, I didn't find any significant health hazards while I was here. read more
