They have such a nice chrome hearts collection and they're so nice and super friendly. They helped me out multiple times secure all the frames I wanted, one of them being the low riders and bluehers which are so hard to get and adjusted them for me to custom fit my face. I recently purchased my third pair of sunglasses from this store. All Dan Deutsch stores are amazing and awesome overall. I just happen to frequent this store more often. They have a very wide selection of prescription frames and sunglasses. The quality and prices of all their frames are also very competitive and on point. Just a great store, with a great selection, at a great value. And most importantly - what a tasteful and experienced crew with a keen eye for detail who have always been very open and honest about where they stand on the fit of the frame to the individual's face - which I greatly appreciate because they take out the gamesmanship and salesmanship and get the shopper to the item that is the best look for the individual which in turn instills a very comfortable and confident experience in the purchase. So the wide range and amazing looking and quality of the selection they have, hand in hand with the great quality of the people helping us out with our purchases, makes this a win-win formula for us as shoppers and revelers. I am a die-hard glasses wearer who always dreamed of getting fun, fancy and unique designer frames but had absolutely no idea where to go or who to trust to put in prescription lenses. That is, until I walked past Dan Deutsch and Laura made all my dreams come true. Not only was I able to buy the new Loewe sunglasses I'd been in awe of, but they *exactly* matched the tint of the original ones. (And better yet: they were sold out elsewhere but in stock here!) I had such a good experience with them and such glorious customer service that I'm going back to get regular glasses as well. I have been buying frames from the 3rd street location for years and occasionally I buy from other stores (even though DD stocks most of the brands I like). After a few years of very poor after market service from some very high end brand stores I have concluded it is better to have the options of a few solid brands at DD and oftan brands they seem to find before me ,or that don't have direct stores, both for selection but more important the after service. Besides many adjustments for those frame I bought from DD and those that I have not, they just refurbished an expensive frame I bought direct with the manufactuer/dealer store salesperson just comtemtously said well, you got one and a half years out of it so spend another heapload of money to get a new one. The lady at 3rd street is a frame pro not a pusher of frames, a local retationship private company I live out of state now but ussually stop buy for adjustments or to buy and I am especially glad I did in regards to salvaging this heavily oxidized frame they fixed for me read more

Dan discussed making frames if I did not see anything in his store! The great thing about Dan, is that he cares, he gets it right & really believes in customer service and satisfaction. A recent special purchase for a very dear high end military friend of mine brought me back to Dan Deutsch, "I selected a wonderful pair of French hand made frames, I said, "Dan we have to make these indestructible", "bulletproof, bifocal, transitional, & I need them ASAP for my friends birthday, and oh yeah we have to ship them to Iraq." We came here one Sunday morning, after staying at a hotel nearby. While I was not in the market for new sunglasses, I did want to check out other style options. We walked in here, and I was impressed by the variety that they have in stock here. There were glasses of many styles here, from the classic and conservative to the unique and eccentric. I checked out their aviators, while she looked for a casual and fun look. We perused for a while, but she didn't fine one in her tastes. I found the aviators nice, but I was not ready to buy yet. The worker here was friendly, and took good care of us. The store is clean and nicely designed. This store is walking distance to many boutique stores and eateries on the Sunset strip. This is a place I'll consider getting my next pair of sunglasses, once I've misplaced my current ones. And since they have a turnover rate of 9-12 months, I might come here sooner rather than later. read more

I normally don't do Yelp reviews but wanted to take time to give a special shout out to Dan Deusch Optical-Sunset Plaza. During this pandemic, I haven't ventured out to shop much and this moment was special for me. I wanted new shades and had heard that this was THE place to find them. The shop did not disappoint- beautiful set up with a killer selection of all the latest styles. The staff is super knowledgeable about all things optical and have all worked there for many years I found. The man himself was also there, owner Dan Deusch- apparently he pops into all of his various locations to make sure that people like me are having a great experience. Getting advice from staff, customers, and the Owner felt incredibly special- like the good old days of retail in the midst of this insanity! I picked up a pair of Mykita by Helmut Lang- brand new collaboration- a more bold choice than normal but I got great advice and am so pleased with my purchase. No one in LA knows eyewear like Dan and his team of professionals. Not only is Dan an amazing person but he has an uncanny way of knowing the right look for your personality and face. I cannot say enough good things. I was on the lookout for a hard-to-find set of JMM frames - I put a feeler out to Ron at DDOO and he said he'd keep an eye out for them. Later, he told me he may have found a pair, and then a week later confirmed that he had them in stock. This was right against a long weekend - I paid for the frames and Ron immediately (instantly) turned around the order so the shipment would go out that evening.
