I've been going here since I was a little girl. They always helped me right away whether it was for an eye-check up, a new pear of glasses, or to fix or adjust my glasses. They have a large selection of glasses (and sunglasses) and have tons of patients to help you try on and pick a pair of glasses that suits you and that you like. Every single time (which was a few times a week) I went there to adjust my glasses as a kid or even as an adult they fixed my glasses perfectly to the way I like them without charge. I just happened to stop in looking for someone who could give me a new eyeglass prescription and they referred me to a Dr. Newman, who used to work there. (See my review of her. She was amazing!) I was told that Dr. Newman would give me a discount if I was referred from Eye Opener. So I went to see her. Post the best eye exam ever, Dr. Newman gave me a quote for new glasses but highly recommended that I fill the prescription at Eye Opener. I went back to EYE OPENER and I got three pair of glasses for what I usually pay for one. And the glasses and service were top notch. Glasses were ready before the promised date. I had a little trouble adjusting to one pair, ran over there and they made a couple adjustments and I was on my way. Highly recommend checking this place out. It's been there for years, but I drove all the way to Pasadena to my trusted eyeglass guy, but I'm making the switch! What an EYE OPENING experience. read more

Azaria is an old school businessman. He treats folks thoughtfully and kindly. He's great at what he does. It's a small shop so, since each person is treated like a royal, you might have to wait a bit as he gives the best he can to each customer. Several years ago I went in to pick up a pair of sunglasses that I'd ordered to fill a 6 month old Rx. I couldn't read the movie marquee across the street! I thought they'd made the glasses wrong. A few questions revealed it was probably a side effect of Humira. Not even my Cedar Sinai rheumatologist was aware of that, she treated me like a was a cute, deluded child until the next visit when I brought in the RX printout which indicated vision change was so important it was included above the more generalized list of possible side effects! Our 5 year old wears a very strong prescription and his last pair from another store were extremely thick and kept sliding down his nose. He gives full attention to whomever he is working with and this sometimes takes time. The wait is well worth it. Great place! Came in with my teenage son's broken glasses (purchased elsewhere). I had tried about four other opticians in the area but none could help. They took them with no questions asked and repaired then in a couple of hours. When I asked the charge, I was told there was no charge. If it needs to be said, this is an eye glass store that not only sells all types of frames (an extensive collection) but can check your eyes and give you a precise prescription. Besides the clever name that represents what kind of store this is, it also represents the type of care that is unique to ANY business. I have gone to this store solely since I discovered it years ago, extending to my family and friends. Both the owner (and his assistant) are beyond helpful and kind. He will take you in and give you the help you need, whether you purchase anything at the time or not. I was recently in and he spent over an hour during which he provided me with a new prescription, as well as deciding on frames. Knowing I would not be making a purchase at that time.
