It was a weeks worth of raining this week and I noticed water pouring over the gutter system in front of my garage door. Looked around and called Dan. We linked up right away and texted him my address and a time set up. Next day he came and cleaned out the gutters fast in the rain without any issues! I wasn't going to be home at the time of the service so I asked for photos if possible. He texted me the picture the same night and was very punctual. Had an appointment for Dan to do the windows inside and outside of our 3 story office building. He came at 7am and did some of the inside windows on our 2nd floor offices. He then told our receptionist that he was leaving and would return later. Dan never returned despite multiple phone calls and voicemails that were left for him. Reached out to Dan to schedule window cleaning on a property in West Sacramento... he mentioned he'd be available on Friday. He never got to it on Friday, and moved it to Saturday...said he'd be there first thing Saturday morning, then it moved to 10:30-10:45 that morning. I went to the property to meet him there around 11:30 and he still never showed up. I came back again at the end of the day, hoping that he would have shown up and cleaned the windows... nope. We phoned Dan and setup an appointment for window cleaning. He never came. No phone calls from him. Nothing. I went ahead and left him a voicemail message and a text asking why he didn't show but have had no reply. I should have read the negative comments about him on Yelp but was foolishly swayed by the glowing remarks. We have guests coming this weekend so are having to clean the windows ourselves. Dan cleaned my gutters 2 years in a row at the end of the fall season. He is generally honest about his pricing. I have a huge city tree having over the roof, but I had gutter guards around my gutters, so the work was easier than he expected. He dropped his quoted price. Since there were a few showers already, debris probably went to the drains already. He made sure the drains were cleaned out. Called the other day to get a quote for gutter cleaning on a two story home. There must've been some confusion because I got a quote for 120 plus extra for debris. I have notification in my phone that the gentlemen arrived at 11:52 and was already cleaning up by 12:14 and definitely gone by 12:30. I was at work when I received a bill for 275). Dan went ahead and said he would do it for 175 for any misunderstanding. I called around to ask how long this type of service usually takes and I was quoted about 2 hours from various companies. I asked Dan how long it took him and he said 1 hour with two people. However looking at the time frame give through my ring video he was there for 30-45 mins. I'm not one to argue so I'm going to go ahead and pay for the service but it's Very unfortunate because I had a lot of people that were interested and I will not be giving out any recommendations. read more

(What?! YOU CAN'T BEAT THAT PRICE?!) So, we set up an appointment, he arrived 10 minutes early, got his stuff set up and it took him about 30 mins and that was that. He did an excellent job! Delay after delay after delay after delay and then sloppy work in the end. Waste of money. Scheduled Dan to clean gutters and get a quote for power washing. He didn't show up at the scheduled time. I had to call him and see if he was still coming. He says hes running late at another job and would need to reschedule for another day.. He comes on the new day and does the gutters (quick and easy job as there were not many trees around and it's not a large roof) and then gives a quote to do power washing and says he can do right away. I agree to add on the power washing. He needs to pick up equipment from another location to do the power washing, but wants payment for the gutter cleaning before he will leave to go get the equipment. So, I have to use two separate checks to pay him within a few hours. I have never had any other contractor ask for that before and thought that was odd. He did the power washing that afternoon and initially it looked OK, so I paid him with the second check. Then when it started drying, I saw severe zig zag tracks all over the asphalt area he went over. Lots of missed areas that were still dirty, I contacted him and he said I would need to wait for it to fade and it would eventually even out. I sent him a photo to show how bad it was and he said we would come back in a few days if its not raining. A couple of days of rain pass and then a few dry days pass and I don't hear from him. I contact him again and he says he will come in another couple of days. Then that day comes and he says he's running late at another job again and he says he will come another day. Then that day comes and I contact him again to verify he's coming this time and he says his truck is in the shop and may not be able to make it. I asked him one last time, "if not today, then when?" and told him I would have to get someone else to fix it otherwise and he never replied again. The money I paid him for power washing was a complete waste because I had to pay a second service to go over it again. The second power washing company redid all the areas he worked on and was able remove all the visible tracks Dan had left behind. Using Dan Downey's service was the worst experience I have had with any power washing service in this area. read more
