    Rachael's Fresh & Local Bread
    Cristina R.

Dan's Farm Shack is an amazing find! We were driving by and saw signs on the side of the road for fresh bread and maple syrup, so we turned in. Upon entering, we were warmly greeted by a woman who explained that the farm shack carried organic products made by various local businesses. Seeing us perusing the loaves, she recommended Rachael's cheddar bagel bread and French toast bread - so we got both! She also highly recommended the Dottie's Delectables jams, especially blueberry, so we got the spiced blueberry jam along with Highland Maple Farm maple syrup. We also got to meet Dan, who came in to drop off bread orders for pick-up. Apparently you can pre-order baked goods and pick them up the next day - the cinnamon rolls with white icing looked amazing. We've tried everything we bought at this point and can confirm that it's all very high quality. Stop on in and say hi to Dan for me!

Cute breakfast spot on the tourist strip at Lake George…read more There is a dining room in the back and a to go counter in the front. The stand out for me was the Mountain of Maple Iced Latte. It was very good! Both my husband and I liked the bagels. I got an egg and cheese and he got bagel with lox cream cheese. Service was quick - staff was pleasant and made sure you knew what was up when you were talking to them. My only critique was it wasn't clear what beverage were hot or cold. When the server said my latte was iced I was psyched! My preferred! But I was prepared for hot. And did not know what it would be upon ordering it.

This was the perfect place for my needs- I ordered a bagel with cream cheese (not toasted) & my partner ordered a plain bagel toasted with jelly and butter. My partner liked his bagel. My bagel on the other hand was awful. The cream cheese tasted sweet and even chunky like cottage cheese. It was a horrible taste. It was also weird that neither of our bagels were cut in half they were left whole. I've never been to a bagel store where my bagel wasn't cut. But I'm from NYC so maybe in NY state they do it differently. The staff was very nice and efficient with our orders. If I came here again I'd love to try the coffee or the pastries. I wouldn't recommend the cream cheese at all.

I wish I could give this place no stars!!…read more My bf and I stayed at the Georgian over Memorial Day weekend and received two vouchers for a free breakfast. We decided to use them on our last day and what a mistake that was. We walked into the restaurant and it was chaos. People were standing around everywhere looking for some kind of direction from the waitstaff as to where to sit and eventually people just say themselves. We went up to the buffet which had no silverware, a handful of plates left and almost all the trays were without food. We were able to grab a pancake and a bagel and that was it. We tried to get cereal but as we watched people pour it into their hands because there were no bowls we decided against it. The pancakes tasted like they were made days in advance and the bagel was stale. So in addition to the unorganized, chaotic environment the food we got was terrible. We had the same issue last year and I can confidently say I would never return. If you are going to hand out free vouchers, you should be more organized than we experienced two years in a row. I would have rather paid for a decent breakfast than wasted my time here.

Didn't mind paying a little more for good food. They even used to put a twisted orange slice on the plate because they cared. But for many years now, the owner is happy to rip off vacationers w/no conscience. I VOW THIS VISIT WAS THE LAST. 4 of us went to breakfast on Sunday: 2 waters, 1 juice, 1 hot tea. 2 omelets, the eggs/toast/home fries/bacon combo, and 1 order silver dollar pancakes. Nothing fancy. Let's start w/the eggs. There's NO WAY they use 2 jumbo eggs to make a pathetically small 2" x 3" pile of scrambled. Home fries were a small dry pile of teeny diced potatoes w/no onions or peppers. From frozen?? Average & rubbery omelets were not made w/4 eggs. They looked just like 2-egg omelets I make at home. And the 2 slices of toast they came with were so small & dry - almost no butter & tasted stale. No extra butter, no jams on the table. Owner should be embarrassed! All food was nearly cold at delivery & flavorless. And 5 flat silver dollar pancakes for $8!!? What the actual heck! Breakfast wasn't worth $88+. Check their menu & pricing before you visit - and BEWARE that you will NOT get or enjoy what you pay for.

We sat outside which was fine if I had looked inside I may not have stayed. From the sign with tape on it to the black carpets, the wood paneling, mirrors and what may just be the darkest bathroom I have ever been in everything about the place is old, dated and depressing. Not dirty mind you, just sad looking. Surprisingly there wasn't dust piled up or anything else disgusting just really, really old. Service *** Our server started out rough as she seemed a bit overwhelmed but once she settled down everything was smooth. Food took a long time to arrive and came in waves. Food ***** This is what shocked me the most, everything was absolutely fantastic! Eggs, home fries, pancakes, bacon every dish was prepared like a 5 star restaurant and delicious. The care shown in the preparation was nothing short of remarkable! Value **** 6 adults and 6 kids $125 was very reasonable. Things can add up quickly though as your $4 omelette goes up $.85 with each topping. Overall **** A little generous with the stars but the food was terrific I might have knocked a star off if we had to sit inside. I worry that due to the seasonal nature of the business that upon a return trip that the same kitchen staff will not be there but for this visit they exceeded expectations.
