They also have Bollywood DVDs to rent, as well as some decorative home goods. There's a frozen goods section, a refrigerated section, produce, spices, beans & lentils, rice, and toiletries. The naan in the red packet is cheaper at Lotte, but if you're pressed for time, you can get the same thing here, just for a little bit more. Produce is a little questionable. Lots of flies sometimes... For a while, they were the only place I had ever seen sell Cadbury Flake, my favorite, in the U.S. My life was made despite them selling it for a ridiculously expensive price. They stopped selling it and I haven't seen it for a few months. I hope they bring it back. Never buy the mehndi cones. They sit out for days, turn old, and come out orange even if you leave the mehndi on overnight. Buy them fresh on Amazon instead.

And while I eat a ton of Indian restaurant food, I also get home-cooked meals in this idiom on occasion, and the food here definitely has that kind of taste. Tangy, spicy, but not overly oily. Having said that, I came hoping for some appetizers to go like samosas or vadas, which maybe they sometimes have but did not have much of when I arrived. Then, the next day, she called back just to berate me for not calling again! Absolutely no respect for the customer's time. How does that make sense? You have time to call and lecture a customer, but not to set up a voicemail, take messages properly, or learn basic customer service etiquette? This kind of unprofessional behavior might fly elsewhere-in an another part of the world. but not here. As a small business, you'd think they'd value and respect the few loyal customers they have. I also picked up some incense sticks, vermicelli, some Asian drinks including pennywort and Mr Brown coffee, preserved plums, and soy sauce. I was disappointed that no buffet style food was available and I guess they may not serve it on Sundays but hoping to try some next time I am back. Rich was happy to find Zeke's coffee, a Baltimore brand not readily available locally. They had only opened a few months before and said they were expecting a lot more items coming soon. Sure enough the second time we went there were a lot more items and they were expecting a big shipment that week. We picked up Rich's coffee and got some beans in tomato sauce, vegan cheese (for a lunch guest) and ice cream, among other things. A pleasant place to stop in and pick up some products and then got to the Cuzina for some carry-out. The staff is very nice and helpful, another nice addition to the Kensington area.
