A very easy and enjoyable experience. We lucked out because upon our arrival the sun came out to join us as well! The captain and staff were super nice and calm. They made the ride really enjoyable. We redeemed a deal we had found on Groupon and spent about 10 minutes up in the air above the beautiful ocean. There are wonderful views to admire 800 feet above water. I'd say the entire trip on the boat was about 45 minutes. There was another party as well. You can fly solo, as a duo, or with a group of three. Photo add on package was $30.00 but you're allowed to take your phone up there (at your own risk). Would recommend for easy going thrill seekers! read more

Amazing experience! Call first.... with all Covid restrictions going on...this is one of the best social distancing experience one can have. Just saying. Called Dana Point Parasailing and asked all my questions and made a reservation. Talked with Chris who was so cool with all my questions and concerns so now I am ready to fly. They do take your credit card info to reserve reservations but do not charge your account until you check in. Pretty easy to find....that is why you call first to get directions and bonus parking was free for 4 hours at the Haaarbor (Boston accent) my son and I show up and it was an easy breezy check-in. We sign a waiver and next thing we are on the boat. They go through all the safety measures and setup you up with all the vices. You go thru all the rules for take off and landing. It's easy and they assure you every step of the way. So....they will take your pictures (we got 50 pics) on a SD for 30 bucks it was well worth it. We did not take our personal cameras during the flight (too scared it would be dropped in the ocean). Lucky for us it was just the 2 of us.....we both had a great time. We were up so high (10-15 mins), I had a hard time looking straight down. We went out ( I thought was pretty far out ) but it was peaceful we were laughing, looking for dolphins, checking out the sail boats it was beautiful. This was his high school graduation present and you all know 2020 grads didn't fair well this year. The crew was so accommodating and fun....pumped up the music on the boat and got us situated for a great flight and off we go. Great experience from the the first call I made inquiring about the experience to walking on the boat and signing in to taking off and then flying high. This was our first time parasailing and we had such an amazing time with Chris and Justin! Great guys with a fun sense of humor. They were very informative and ensured we were safe while enjoying ourselves. The boat is very well maintained and there are tons of fun things (restaurants, boutiques, art displays) to check out in the area. The views from above were incredible--parasailing is such a thrilling yet serene experience! I was a little nervous initially but the ascent and descent was so calm that I barely even noticed it. From 800 feet above, we were able to see birds diving for fish, seals bathing in the sun, and kelp forests beneath the water. We opted to leave our shoes on the boat prior to take off and were able to dip our feet into the water prior to landing back on the boat (this is optional and very refreshing if you decide to do it). They also offer a photo package ($30 for the SD card) and Justin got tons of high quality shots of us taking off, hanging out way up in the air, and coming back in towards the boat. My FIL gave my husband the gift of parasailing as a birthday gift. Not my cup of tea but my husband seemed excited to try this and ended up thoroughly enjoying the ride. He also purchased spots for my boys and I to ride along on the boat. If I could do it over again, I would have gone alone on the boat without the boys. The boat operator/owner (Chris) seemed skilled and experienced so I didn't feel our safety was comprised but, with that said, it was a bit too wild of a ride (mainly when making a turn) for me and one of my boys. The other one loved the "thrill" of it-ha! He returned us all in one piece to the harbor and my hubby loved it so that's what matters! AND, I really appreciate that they always answered their phones, every time including making the reservations, weather inquiries, etc. All in all, for anyone looking to parasail, I would recommend this company! read more

Dana point parasail was a great place to have a miniature vacation staycation! The area was cute, there were restaurants and shops to explore before going on the parasail. Arrive about 15 mins prior to the time you pick because there is a wavier you must sign. There were two people who instructed and steer the boat to get you out and back safely. While on the boat they equipment you with the safety items that would keep you safe while you're up in the sky. The whole process takes about 10-15 mins for them to reel you out in the sky and back. I purchased the Groupon offer for me and my girlfriend to celebrate her birthday. We've been looking forward to parasailing for a while now as it would have been our first time. I planned the whole day out for parasailing and being in Dana Point today. We live in Los Angeles so we drove about 60+ miles and 1 hour 30min+ out to Dana point. We got there before our reservation at 2pm but when we arrived, I overheard one of the employees talking to a couple about rescheduling their reservation as the weather was too windy to parasail. Me and my girlfriend looked at each other in disbelief. I overheard the employee tell the couple that he was "trying to call everyone" to tell them that they have to cancel reservations due to the weather. Trying to call and actually calling are 2 completely different things. I wish they would've called us before driving out to save us the trip and to reschedule because this was such a waste of gas and all he could offer was rescheduling another day/ tomorrow or getting a refund from Groupon directly. No remorse for me and my girlfriend driving from LA or the couple in front who drove all the way down from San Diego which is 80+ miles from Dana Point. The couple left and we were next to talk to the employee and he told us that it's been windy since 12pm. Mind you, it was currently 1:45pm. These guys had plenty of time to call us and tell us about the weather and how we need to reschedule but instead they chose not to call and let us drive all the way to Dana Point to tell us that. The lack of professionalism and consideration really upset me so we just left. I've seen other reviews of people saying that they got a call beforehand to cancel or reschedule which would have been helpful in my situation even if I had to turn around halfway. My girlfriend's birthday and the whole day was ruined in general. read more

I have been considering parasailing now for the past six years and always looking at the negatives especially when you read or watch the news lol which pretty much tabled the idea of going parasailing for me. Nonetheless a group of friends and I decided to give it a go, let's take flight! We arrived extremely early as none of us had ever done it before and didn't know what to expect. I would suggest arriving a little earlier than your scheduled parasail time to find decent parking as the parking lot gets pretty busy with the restaurants, fishing, parasailing and other activities going on in the area. Upon check in, we were greeted with a genuine warm smile by Chris, our Captain. Chris had a friendly demeanor and a sense of calm. He made us feel welcomed as if we were all good neighbors or long lost friends catching up at a reunion. That sense of calm was contagious, made me feel relaxed and gave me the feeling that this was going to be a good experience and that everything was going to be just fine. Chris introduced us to Justin, his deckhand, I believe that is the correct technical term lol, I digress, and explained the process and and where the boat was docked, etc. Once onboard, I was very pleased to see how clean the boat was (for those of you who read my reviews you know I'm big on the cleanliness) the seats were nice and comfortable. Chris gave us the safety and rules pep talk as we were pulling away from the dock. They play appropriate music for all to enjoy and yet the volume isn't so loud that you can't hold a conversation with the other passengers onboard or amongst yourselves again that speaks to volumes to the professionalism of these two. Once sailing out I believe reality sank in that I was really doing this; seeing other passengers and my friends get into their gear, I had an internal panic moment lol, but while Justin was getting me into my gear he gave me a few words of encouragement and got me laughing. Chris followed up with some encouraging words concluding "I got you" and "It's gonna be fun". Worry more about having fun and a good time, let us take care of everything else. They reassured me that I was indeed safe and being taking care of and that it was going to be a good experience. When our turn was up, Justin got us situated into position and ensured we were securely fastened in our harnesses and life jackets. Take off was much easier and gentler than expected. Once in the air you feel like you're floating, its so quiet and peaceful. You're even higher thank you think when you notice you're flying above the birds. It so surreal. We had a blast, we were sad when it was time to get reeled back in. Even that part was easy. You don't even get wet, unless you consider the gentle little splash you get when they reel you back in and your toes get to touch the water. You're going to be pretty up there, I was terrified of my cell dropping to its death plus not knowing what to expect I wasn't trying to take selfies, that being said Chris was kind enough to let me keep my phone and keys stowed while we were in the air. If you're worried about not being able to capture your flight, they take pictures that you can purchase for a nominal fee. If you can do Soarin' at Disney California Adventure, then you can do parasailing! Take flight with Chris and Justin. Very memorable experience, very professional, fun and open crew. Had such a good time, I'm planning on taking my mom and her best friend! read more

My wife loves Parasailing with the Grandkids. She has taken three of them up with DPP. Every time the experience has been 'Top Flight'! The secret at DPP is really the people. We all know that in a service business especially, your people can make or break you. Christopher, Justin and Kobe do everything they can to make your experience the best it can be. They have always treated our family like family. Example for us on this last trip Justin positioned the boat near a school of Dolphins to "see if they wanted to play."
