The dog trainer Valerie has worked wonders with my puppy. Dog training is held at the Humane Society in San Bernardino. It's a great location and the people at the humane society are so kind and get excited to see you bring your dog to training classes. Val and her team are highly skilled and knowledgeable. Val has been my go-to dog trainer for the last ten years and I've trained four of my dogs with her help and expertise. The private sessions were so helpful and very reasonably priced. It's apparent that Val truly cares about training dogs and is passionate about her work. I'm working with her so that my reactive puppy can get her CGC (Canine Good Citizen), and Val has been happy to answer all my questions and is very reassuring that I can achieve my goals with my puppy. I can't recommend her highly enough. I drive an hour and a half to attend classes because they're so worth it. read more

Recently, I was going to take my dogs to this establishment for training. When I drove up to the business which looked like someone's home, I noticed several suspicious looking characters on and around the property. The property looked dirty and not well maintained. The people looked like they were coming and going and it looked like there was something going on other than dog training. I did not think it was a safe place for my girlfriend or my dogs. I've been through this training course twice with my boy and loved it! All the ladies are incredible and willing to work with you and your dog. Very easy to understand and make it fun for you and your pet. They are affordable and offer a variety of training courses. They really work with your dog too and make sure that they understand the training. The place is clean and maintained and offer fresh water to our pups every time we go. Much like another yelper commented, place looked a little shady. As I drove by, a couple walked out and they were not the type I'd feel comfortable around my kids. The classes are held at the Humane Society in San Bernardino so don't know where you got a Highland home address. My dog was really reactive when we started class and has become a model citizen now, I can take him anywhere so I highly recommend the class and the women who run it. read more

I have been working with Val for over ten years. Never has any group class been contacted at a personal residents. All group classes are held at an awesome facility in San Bernardino and Private lessons are conducted at the home or place of the owners choice. To get people to write negative and/or false comments about someone's business is cruel and uncalled for. To accuse someone of stealing something when they weren't even anywhere near the area and the blast their company is low. Many satisfied customers and pups gone through classes and private training programs and Val is one of the best!!! Yelp continues to remove positive reviews but leaves false reviews. I am writing this review after an amazing training session at my home with Val. By the way, Dan J . and Dallass S., who claim they went to "the establishment," are obviously bogus reviewers. Dances with Dogs trains at the Humane Society and in the dog owner's home. There is no "establishment" to go to. Our dog Murphy is a German Shepard stray, so we know nothing about him other than he is around 3 years old, and might have coyote in him (I am not going to do DNA testing). Val has trained me and Murphy for many months now to get him to focus and listen. He loves Val and so do I! We look forward to our Thursday training sessions. Today we worked on both focusing and listening by getting Murphy to take a bow (put his front legs down with his rear end in the air) and to go to sleep (roll over on his side with his head on the floor). Murphy really worked hard and did both tricks, while I learned how to give the commands! He also "stayed" at the threshold of the open front door until I gave the command, "Ok, let's go!" That's huge because this dog's favorite thing is to RUN, RUN, RUN! If Val and Dances with Dogs had not come into our lives, I suspect we would have found Murphy a new home because his behavior issues were so overwhelming for us. But now we have this wonderful, silly, loving dog! Thank you, Val, for helping us get here! read more

I have been training at DwD with my dog, Jack. It has been fantastic! Jack was a stray for 6-9 months as a puppy. He scrounged around in garbage cans, killed & ate anything he could and wouldn't let a human near him. I started leaving food for him and he finally adopted us! I took him to DwD and the change was dramatic! He obeys commands and has become a treasured part of our family. I couldn't have done this on my own. All the trainers have been encouraging, helpful and kind. The price is better than other chain pet stores, the staff is truly knowledgeable and you can't beat the service! Awesome class!!! It really did wonders for my husky! I learned I was using the wrong kind of collar on my dog and that was contributing to him pulling so much. The trainers take their time with you and really address your dog's individual needs. It was really fun to learn with my dog. I see a huge difference in his behavior. Dances with Dogs Training Center is a great place to train your dogs to behave and for socialization. The dogs have a great time. My dog loved going there. There are several trainers so you get almost one to one help teaching your dog many obedience commands. the dogs get to be around other dogs and people which helps them be happier when out for a walk. I love these ladies, they are the best. They are not only great trainers, but they truly care about all the dogs. My dog has received wonderful training from all, and personal one on one training to help him with little things. They have truly helped us out tremendously and I can't thank them enough. We now know what collars and leashes are appropriate when walking. Our dog has truly come a very long way with this program. I love that what they teach you to do with your dog are things that you work into your everyday routine. My husband even enjoys going and participating in the training, which is awesome.
