I stop here every time I go to the Olympia Farmers Market. It has a very inviting feel, the staff is very friendly, the coffee is delicious and the bakery case is stocked with local treats. It's a great spot to stop and sip some coffee, either inside or on the outdoor patio area. They use a local roaster's coffee, Batdorf & Bronson, which is fantastic (and their tasting room is across the street). It's definitely worth stopping by! Parking is free. read more

I got an iced tea at Dancing Goats, and they had no Sweet-n-Low or Splenda. "Sorry, we ran out." It's kind of inexcusable. It's not like i am visiting someone's house, I'm paying money for a drink, and this very simple amenity isn't available. In the morning, when you noticed your inventory of sweetener packets was low, someone should have made a trip to Costco for another $15 box. This was, at one time, the one n only place I'd go for coffee in Olympia. However recently their pound of coffee that you can buy pre measured has shrunk to 11.6 Oz. You're still paying the same $14. 00 for 11.6 Oz. What happened to the days of nice. Full bags of coffee? When I asked why.... " it's the same price point." but now to get a pound you have to buy two bags @ $14 bucks each? Rip off. U fair to the loyal followers of DG going back to the 80's! So maybe on occasion I'll go for a cup but I'll not purchase coffee by the pound. Oly deserves better. Oh and you can go down the street to the tasting room on the days they're open, and buy a true pound, but call first they keep changing that! And the last time I went to buy a pound of Dancing Goats blend? They were out. So my rave reviews have gone the what of their cheap measurements. read more

Not often that I'm compelled to write a review on my phone within 30 mins of leaving an establishment, but today is one of those times. Found this place on Yelp! and had some time to kill before a meeting. Ordered a cold brew and breakfast burrito for dining in. Look the burrito was pre-made, so I didn't have high expectations. But when the emotionless cashier asked me if I wanted it heated, I had to say "pardon me?" Now I've never had a refrigerated (or even room temperature) breakfast burrito...but after the surprise of the question wore off, I said yes please. She then asked what size iced coffee I wanted to which I replied "you don't have cold brew?" I should have cut my losses then and there! I thought cold brew was pretty much a staple these days at coffee joints, but maybe it's a California thing. They serve some concoction of a concentrate + drip coffee? Anyway, it tasted like McDonald's iced coffee. After getting my order, one bite of the breakfast burrito revealed it was basically potatoes wrapped in a tortilla. Maybe there were some eggs and sausage somewhere, but you couldn't taste them. I asked the barista (who actually smiled compared to the robotic cashier) if they had any hot sauce...to you know...and a little flavor...and she replied "no but I wish we did." That makes two of us! A second bite and I'm done. To kinda make a point and hope that the cashier might inquire about why I only had two bites of my breakfast burrito, I take it up to the counter and ask if I can leave my plate there. Completely clueless, she points to the bus bin at the other end of the counter (which I already saw). I just have to shake my head and walk out. read more

pros: excellent location when you need a mid-farmers market pick-me-up. quality beans. d.g. has really the very best intentions. outdoor seating is stellar when the weather is nice. usually the drinks are good. cons: some of the barristas appear to have skipped barrista training. the lines can be outrageous. the indoor seating is limited. the drinks are not always good. their "eco-tainers" are one of the stupidest examples of greenwashing i have ever seen. it's like, "quick, admire how eco-friendly we are because we take corn (which people could eat) and turn it into a disposable cup, which we will not compost, nor will we encourage you, the customer, to compost it. because really, it is more important that you admire how green we are than that we actually close the loop on unsustainable practices, or godforbid, demand that you bring a reusable cup." read more

My mother, fiance, and I went into get some coffee yesterday. My fiance didn't want any coffee, so I ordered the chilly goat mocha, and my mother ordered a iced mocha like she always gets. The guy goes to take our order, my mother tells him what she wants, I tell him what I want and we tell him that's it. Well, when my mother went to pay it was $20 dollars, and when our drinks were ready we ended up getting 2 Chilly goat mochas, and my mothers iced mocha. We thought it was weird considering my fiance didn't say anything to him, considering after we ordered 2 drinks we said that was it. Now onto the lady who made the drinks, we got our coffee and it was absolutely terrible. It tasted disgusting, weird, and it gave my mother a terrible stomach ache half way through her coffee. This morning she isn't feeling well either, hasn't felt well since the coffee. She said her coffee tasted weird, never like it usually does because we go here quite often, and she said there had to be something bad in it. The 2 coffees we got which was only supposed to be 1, one of the chilly goats tasted very sweet with a weird after taste, and the other one tasted quite sour with no flavor at all. I'm not sure who that lady who made our drinks is, or the man who took our order but they were absolutely terrible. We come here all the time and this is just dissapointing, $20 down the drain because all the drinks were terrible, including the one we didn't even order. Unfortunately, I wrote on one of their review cards and gave them all 4's with an exception of a 3, which I wish I would have waited until we got our coffee, would have been all one stars. read more

This is a great place for coffee. The nice thing about this place is that it's close to their tasting room. There are also a lot of options for parking, unlike the other location. It's a good place to read or use your computer. I usually get a smoothie or a chilly goat mocha. read more

Batdorf makes great coffee -- I even found a restaurant in Hamilton, Bermuda that has their coffee shipped in. Why? Because the owner's wife had it one time and loved it. He serves it in his restaurant (I couldn't write a review, since Yelp isn't there yet), and he said he breaks even. But...he loves his wife so he gets the coffee shipped in. Over the past year, service and espresso beverage quality has become hit and miss. It's mostly a hit, but it does seem that the training is lacking. Or, perhaps its the care of the barista's that's lacking. Again, it's mostly a hit and I'm there at least once a week. It's across from the farmer's market and I'm there on most weekends to pick up my Dancing Goats pastry and espresso beverage (usually a Cap or Machiatto). Ya know, if I had to narrow it down, I'd say it's mostly the milk steaming that's an occasional miss. Either way, I'm a fan and I will be back... :) read more

Never again, went in this week and the guy behind the counter with long red hair and stocking cap was rude, and MY LATTE had a wad of his hair in it. They are ridiculously over priced. They cost more then Starbucks. I use to go there every morning before work until I found out they were over pricing me and not my boss. I had my boss go down a few times to order a drink and they charged him $2 less then me. They also overcharge on their cream cheese. Now I make the effort to go to Starbucks. read more
