This review is for eyelash extensions with Mayra. I seriously don't know why I ever stopped getting eyelash extensions. I did some research on Yelp and found Mayra. She's ah-mazing!! She's so sweet, professional, very knowledgeable on eyelash extensions, and super QUICK. I'm in and out under an hour every time. Anyone who has ever gotten eyelash extensions knows it can take anywhere from an hour to 1.5 hours. Sometimes longer than that. I love how natural my lashes look. OTher places I've gone to would add too much of the extensions and it gives me that sleepy look which I don't like. I want to look awake dammit! lol. My lashes last me about 4-5 weeks before I start looking crazy with my lashes pointing all different directions. I would definitely recommend her. Let me be honest, I was quite nervous coming to this salon due to my previous experience at another one. I felt that nobody would help me get the hair color I wanted. Just got home from having my hair done by Monica. I saw a coupon on Groupon for a cut and a choice of over-all color, high lights, or low lights for only $40! Not being an avid Groupon user, I called in to the salon and Monica was super helpful. She explained how it worked and was very clear about the extra costs that could occur and all that. She told me where she went and I had my heart set on going. Yesterday, I finally went in to get them. Mayra did them for me and she was great. I felt so relaxed and I could've fallen asleep. I was referred to Scott by a friend of mine, and I'm so glad she did. I don't normally drive around the area and I accidentally took the wrong turn and getting stuck in traffic made me late by 10 minutes. I love the makeup at Salon 701. I have sensitive skin and break out easily. Glow minerals is the only makeup I do not have breakouts with and according to the manufacterer, its the only all natural makeup on the market. I used to use Bareescentuals but it started to break me out and I found out someone bought out the company and added talc and other pore cloggers so Im a glow minerals fan forever! read more

Absolutely Fabulous hair by Scott Fallentine! I say color expert...always a perfect job, full weave with highlights and lowlights. He's been doing my hair flawlessly for over 10 years. I now live in Pasadena and made the trip to Sacramento to get my hair done as I can't find anyone in Pas that does it as well as Scott. My boyfriend even said it was worth the trip, he noticed the great job Scott did and you know guys usually don't notice those things ;) In the past, I've had color disasters but never with Scott! I went to salon 701 once because a friend had recommended it to me, I don't usually spend a lot of money on my hair, but I thought what the heck, a cut and color shouldn't be more than $80.. I was told that the cut itself was only $25, so I was content with that. I saw Scott that day, and he was very nice, and the salon was beautiful, I showed him three very specific pictures of what I wanted, and was very clear about how I wanted my hair to look. Chunky blonde peekaboo panels under a layered cut with side bangs. So after describing it as clear as I possibly could, he got started. I trusted that he was going to be able to do it, so I sat back and relaxed. He put in the panels, and did the cut. The next thing I know he was styling my hair like to look nothing like what I had wanted. The panels were thin, and my hair was a big poof. I was too shy to say anything at that moment, also because I didn't have words. This is not what I wanted at all. When I went to pay, he charged me $172!! I almost had a heart attatck! I would never spend that much money on hair. Apparently he had done some extra things that cost extra without consulting me first. I was shocked, but quietly and politely left The shop. When I got in the car I tried to flatten it down and style it a little closer to how I would actually wear it and I noticed that there were no side bangs, gust a little face framing. The die didn't even go up to my roots, it looked like it had been growing out for weeks. I just feel really stupid now. I should have spoken up while I was there, but I also figured that three pictures that clearly showed what I wanted would be enough to get the idea into his head. I went to sports clips yesterday, and she fixed the cut perfectly. I guess I'll just have to live with the panels. =/ Needless to say, I won't be in again. read more

Armando answered the phone and was not friendly at all, he was rude and impatient and seemed like I was bothering him by calling. He was very quick to threaten to cancel my appointment if I didn't provide my voucher number which I was more than willing to do. I originally felt excited about this place but Armando you were the first impression of your salon and you failed by being impatient and rude. It has been a few years and my last experience was horrendous, but Scott Fallentine at Salon 701 has revived my faith in salons and stylists. He listened, he had thoughts of his own, he was realistic, he kept the wine flowing and was very personable. He did not try to sell me things, he did not push anything. He just wanted me to be comfortable and for me to leave happy, and that I did. I will definitely be back as I actually think he will nurse my hair back to health from other stylists' missteps. I received my eyelash extensions yesterday from Mayra and they are fabulous! It was worth every penny, especially considering it takes me about 5-8 minutes/day to put on mascara with my pathetic natural ones. I figure if these bad girls last me four weeks, it saves me anywhere from 2.25 - 3.2 hours. And they look better than anything I could do with a mascara wand. The whole experience was very relaxing, once my face stopped twitching, but Mayra was very reassuring and calming about that so it didn't take long. I will be back! read more
