After being with a stylist for 20+ years I have been on a journey to find another trusted person. X Booking with Lucas is incredibly easy. His online site clearly states pricing, cancellation policies, dates and open times. You will need to include a credit card at time of booking. Communication is automated and frequent, both confirming and reminding you of the appointment. Lucas is inside the Sola Salon off Hurstbourne, next to Liquor Barn. There's plenty of parking for the various shops and restaurants. He was ready for me upon arrival. I appreciated his questions and active listening about the concerns I had for my haircut. I'm fairly low maintenance but too much layering due to thinning my hair had been an issue. The finished product was exactly what I wanted and continues to be this week after the cut. I have no hesitation to reschedule with Lucas or to recommend him. In fact, already concerned taking my teen to visit.

She definitely knows curls - particularly that everyone's are different and you have to experiment and learn what works. I've never had anyone try different products on my hair and really pay attention to what their impact. I have wavy/curly hair and some people don't know how to cut and shape curlier hair. Shannon blew me away with her techniques and how she took my long hair from blah and boring to short and sexy! My daughter thoroughly enjoyed having Khyla do her hair. We first went in expecting a curly cut but then switched over to a silk press (what my daughter originally asked me to do). Khyla led us into discussion about the pros and cons about each and together as a team we made the decision to go with the silk press. My daughter appreciated her tender touch while detangling, and her concern for temperature at the shampoo bowl. Bless her heart I don't think she or I estimated the amount of time it would take with my daughters thick hair. Four hours later my daughter walked out all smiles and satisfaction. She ended up needing inches cut off her hair due to breakage but Khyla gave an in depth explanation why and took her time to only cut what was needed. My daughter appreciated the warmth shown by Khyla, the conversation, and the soft feel of her hair. Two and a half hours later before stylist was finishing. No complaints on the color b/c I know it takes a few visits to get the color right. I requested just a trim in the style that I have worn for the past 3 years and love. Not sure what type of cut she was working on but end result requires repair to uneven sides and hair in the back hanging down. Have tried to reach the salon and phone is not answered and VM full. Today is Tuesday and they are supposed to be open. Will not return.

The fact that my mom has been a customer continuously for almost 25 years proves my point. The roster at the salon has grown and shrunk over time. Currently, there is one other full-time stylist and a part-timer. I've never tried to get a walk in appointment here (or seem any for that matter). But, I've never had an issue getting in when I wanted either. Most recently, I scheduled and then took my mom in for a cut following her stay in the hospital. Being out and about in public took effort for her, but Michael made her feel at ease immediately. A chat, a wash, and her hair cut in her signature style made her feel like a star. This isn't a high end salon with all the bells and whistles, but the people are genuinely kind, the place is tidy, and the service is excellent. Once he touched my hair, no other dresser has been able to even come close. Sure I have had other people touch my hair when I haven't been able to travel to Louisville to see him, and every single time I have left happy until I wash and style my own hair and realize they did what THEY want and never really understand my hair or how to work with the soft curls in fine hair.
