She was incredibly kind and helpful, especially knowing it was my first time. I was the only person at the spa so I didn't experience anything more than the sound of music and running water. I wasn't sure what to expect. Here's what I learned that may be helpful to you for the head spa experience: - The Thai bed offered the comfortable, wider bed. It was heated and I was covered with blankets. - You will wear a towel on your top. Straps would be in the way. Come wearing a tube top, something that can be pulled down, or slip off your bra. - If you don't have warm socks, they offer fuzzy socks. - Lockers are provided for security. The key is attached to a bracelet and you can slip it on your wrist. - A scalp analysis is completed before and after. - The treatment started with a massage and it continues on and off throughout. - The pressure isn't painful but it can be intense, including on your scalp. My arm muscles were very tight so I was mindful to breathe through the soreness. - The head massagers are amazing. I've already looked up where to buy my own! -Your hair will be washed multiple times. Aveda products are used. Overall, a wonderful experience. It is definitely a splurge for me; however, this will be a treatment I'll come back for to keep my scalp and hair healthier, plus have an opportunity to relax.

Wonderful experience with Mo! My lower back feels fossilized sometimes because it's soooo tight,…read morebut Mo was so thorough and put in a lot of work to help alleviate the pain and stiffness, which has plagued me for about 20 years. I am fit and I am a longtime yoga practitioner. I understand my role in managing these issues, but no amount of exercise can offset 8 hours sitting at a computer a day. A good massage is sometimes the only thing that can help when my body really starts locking up. Ive tried a number of massage therapists who are trained through westernized programs, and I even had a standing appointment with a wonderful reiki master who was a massage instructor for many years. Unfortunately, none of these therapists (who were legitimately excellent) were able to provide much relief for issues like persistent psoas tightness and snapping hip syndrome, etc. Mo is the first massage therapist who really made a difference in my pain and my low back and hip function, after just one session. I don't know if I truly do need deep tissue work or if it just *feels* as if I need deep tissue massage to me because of my usual experiences, but I always ask for deep work and rarely feel as though it's even close to being deep enough. A lot of massage therapists just don't seem to have more than textbook classroom-based understandings of the body, and they tend to try to use sessions to lecture me about the most basic things or assert their expertise, even while they're failing to recognize where my muscles are tight and how to actually address the tightness. That's why I decided to try an eastern-based practitioner this time. This was a fairly vigorous and intense session and I got the exact pressure I wanted/needed, without having to even say anything. It felt as though I finally got some release along my spine. She also did exceptional work on my shoulders and mid-back as well and gave a brief scalp massage. It made my whole week! Lalai is my new standing massage therapy provider and I highly recommend them, and Mo :)

This expiration policy was never stated anywhere on the gift certificate. There is no expiration date listed and nothing indicating it would become invalid. It was extremely disappointing to be told I couldn't use the gift certificate especially when the service was fully paid for and clearly specified on the certificate. This feels misleading and unfair to customers who receive gift certificates in good faith. Based on this experience, I would not recommend purchasing or gifting certificates from CaloSpa unless all expiration terms are clearly disclosed in writing.

My skin was looking dry and dull and just plain tired with a combination of dry flakiness and mild breakouts. Nothing I'd tried was helping much, so I reached out for professional help and I'm so glad I did. Lindsey was right on time, very friendly and professional, and it was clear from the start that I was in excellent hands. She explained the processes, devices and products she would be using and encouraged me to ask questions if I wanted as we went along. The entire experience was very relaxing and pampering, and best of all, effective. My skin has never felt so thoroughly, yet gently deep-cleaned and nourished, somehow calm and perky at the same time. In the week since my HydraFacial, there's a translucence, and yes, glow, that I hadn't seen in years. I can't wait for my next visit!

When you enter, you can enjoy a cup of tea or water before your appointment. Tonight's massage was as phenomenal as the rest. It's easy to book through their site and super advanced booking is not required. I've been happy with every massage therapist here when I pick whoever is available. Tonight I had a massage with Z, who was thorough in explaining sensitive points and attentive to how I was feeling throughout.

The location was new to me, so heads-up, you do have to walk off of the main street to find it. I don't know if the reviews and website were all just so beautiful that the decor and vibe inside didn't meet the idea I had in my head? But I felt the space could use a little more life and warmth. In the actual room I was in, too. I wonder if a loose draped tapestry could help, maybe more mood lighting, some plants in the room--just a little warm TLC. Side note: When booking, I chose a 30 min massage and 2 add-ons. Then the calendar event for the appt said 45 minutes I assumed this was my massage and add ons. It's not. 15 minutes is set aside for consultation and undress (I think.) So because I chose 30 min massage and add ons, I only got to experience the add-ons. So just keep that in mind when you're booking. Maybe don't book on your phone at 1am, lol. Now my actual service was very nice. My hair smelled amazing after. And the masseuse was so sweet, thoughtful, helpful, and informative. She gave me some great tips for keeping up with my health. I have re-booked with her for simply an hour long massage service so I can experience the real thing! Looking forward to it.

Avoid their monthly membership - not worth the hassle…read more My husband originally set up an appointment for me at this location over a year ago and enrolled me in their monthly membership. For the first 8-9 months, everything was fine. I was going once a month for injury-related therapy and found it helpful. Then things started to fall apart. First, the therapist I was seeing for 8 months left. My next appointment was canceled, so I picked a new therapist--not a huge deal. But that new appointment was canceled last minute because the therapist called out sick. Again, life happens--I was understanding. But I couldn't get another appointment for almost a month. Then, our card on file expired. Instead of calling us (we'd been clients for nearly a year at that point), I received a text saying payment had failed and all future appointments were canceled until resolved. That was incredibly frustrating--not only had we been paying regularly, but I also had 2-3 appointments banked due to their own cancellations. Still, I called, gave them the new card, and asked to cancel the membership. I was told there would be one final charge (because of their 30-day cancellation policy) and that I'd have 60 days to use any banked sessions. I declined--I just wanted to be done. Fast forward 7 months--we just discovered they've still been charging my husband's card. When he called, the manager claimed there was no cancellation form on file. She agreed to cancel the membership but refused to refund any of the past six months. She said we still had 60 days to use banked services--but never provided the form she claimed was required in the first place, even though we asked. We checked online. Nowhere does it mention a cancellation form and we haven't been able to find one. It only says to call the franchise location to cancel. So either they're being shady, or their policies are a mess. To be clear: I never had an issue with any of the therapists themselves. But the membership system is flawed. They cancel appointments on you, make it hard to keep up with usage, and then make cancellation vague and difficult. If you sign up, be sure to get everything in writing--and double check they've actually stopped charging your card.

I went inside and they said that someone had cancelled my appointment. They couldn't tell who cancelled it; and they offered to give me a complimentary massage. It's truly a place to get a high quality massage without all of the distractions of a typical massage studio. Christine is AMAZING - I have some back issues and have struggled to find a massage therapist who really understands anatomy at a level that ensures massages are effective and target the right things. I like a deep tissue massage, and she never disappoints. She's very thoughtful about making sure she understands what issues I'm having, explains what she is going to do to help (and why), and asks for feedback as she goes. Highly recommend her, especially if you have unique needs and could benefit from a massage therapist who truly knows her stuff!

However, the manager, called and left a message that she was charging me $53 because everyone knows there is a 24 hour cancellation policy. I had never received a text or email about this policy and it wasn't printed on my gift card. After I called to speak with her 3 times, she finally answered the phone and basically told me to go away. I'm not sure if the massages are any good at all, but regardless of circumstance, they will get their $$$$$$. They want to argue that they told me, but I think something in writing would/should be automatic for a charge like this. Let the buyer beware, because their communication is pretty horrendous. I'll never step foot in the place and I'm sure there is no refund for who gave me the card, so I guess it will just be another waste of money because it's going in the trash. If you're looking for peace of mind, this is not the place....
