I've been between dentists ever since moving away from the bay area in 2008. After a freak basketball accident in an adult league, my front right incisor was knocked clean out of my gums. This was on a Sunday so I unfortunately wasn't able to see a dentist until the following day. That dentist put a wire brace to hold the tooth in place. However after a little while it seemed I would need a root canal as that tooth started decaying. The next dentist I was recommended to by a family friend performed the root canal and filling. This solved my tooth woes for a small period of time. The tooth was stable, but it started discoloring and turning brown. I was told by my new dentist that had bought out the practice, that I would need a crown or replacement. Only to never address or facilitate that procedure. My wife and I were recommended to Dr. Chung by her friend, and the level of professionalism and care is a fresh breath of air. After my first appointment, I was able to schedule follow up appointments for the crown work. Dr. Chung does an amazing job of talking through his procedures and comforting his patients. Worst experience ever. Called them because I had pain in my tooth. The lady said to come in. Sat in for 5 minutes. He referred me to another dentist and charged me $60. How are you an oral surgeon and can't do anything. Shame on you! read more

Dr. Chung is a great dentist and is always very thorough. He takes his time to explain any type of procedures you may need. We have been coming here for more than 5 yrs and our kids enjoy their visits because he checks to make sure they're ok when doing a cleaning or filling. Dr. Chung has been our family dentist for more than a decade. He is reassuring, gentle, and very professional. I am bizarrely anxious about dental procedures considering that I am a therapist by trade. Dr. Chung is AMAZING at reassuring me and making sure that I'm not in pain. He never talks down to me or infers that I should be more calm. Nicole is Dr. Chung's assistant and she is absolutely lovely. Last year, when we adopted our teen daughter out of foster care, both Nicole and Dr. Chung went out of their way to make sure she felt safe and comfortable. BEWARE. Dr. Chung was recommended to me by someone I trusted & I was very happy with him for quite a while. He did pull out one tooth in front that had to go cuz it was very loose & about to fall out. BUT later, the last time I saw him, he didn't ask my opinion or permission but TOLD me that next visit he was gonna pull out the 2 front top teeth that were next to the one he'd pulled. He said they were loose, but that was only a slight bit, & there was no danger. These 2 teeth worked fine & looked good & obviously did NOT need pulling. PLUS it would obviously necessitate a lot more work making stuff to hide the gap. So a lot of quick money for Mr. Chung. I totally lost any trust I ever had in him. (I later read that he charged one guy $60 just to give him name & address of another dentist.) I wouldn't even allow him to do a teeth cleaning, who knows what he might try to pull. He won't ever see me again. And I am not going to keep this story a secret between the two of us. read more

I've been coming to Dr. Chung for approximately 7+ years now off and on (due to changes in insurance and such). So this is easy to say, he is hands down THE BEST dentist I have ever been to. Everyone on his staff is professional, courteous, and extremely efficient. I have never had a single concern about my billing or any procedure I've had done here. They all do a great job of taking the time and explaining every detail of what is to happen. They are very flexible on appts,I usually see them Saturday mornings. Dr. Chung himself is thorough, professional and very friendly. He is always willing to take the time to answer all my questions and he just makes you feel so comfortable in his office. It's like visiting friends every time I come here! He definitely changed the way I feel about going to the dentist. In truth, it is a bit of a drive for me to come here from West Covina but it really doesn't bother me at all. You get what you pay for, and Dr. Chung and his staff are worth every single penny. My family and I have been seeing Dr. Chung for several years. I was scared of the dentist for along time until switching here. Dr. Chung's sooooo good at giving the shot, I never feel it. I realize he's done when he's putting it back on the tray. There are tv's in every room with a nice scenic view of the mountains :) very peaceful!!! His prices are reasonable even for things not covered by your insurance. It's a very personal office so the girls and Dr. know you by name. Dr. Chung and his staff are very caring people. Whether it comes to a gentle teeth cleaning, appointment scheduling, or finances; they try their best to make everything easy and pain-free. My experience with Dr.Chung has been nothing but a pleasure. I've never had a primary dentist and I'm sad that I did not find/go to Dr.Chung earlier! I went in for a checkup and to get my wisdom teeth removed. He was so professional and did an amazing job! I was really nervous getting all of mine out at the same time, but I didn't feel a thing and the whole process was so quick. My face didn't even swell up so no one could tell that I just got my teeth removed. A day or two after the removal, it actually started bleeding again out of nowhere, forming this huge weird blood clot inside my mouth. I got scared and called the office, not knowing that it's an off day. He still answered and asked me to come in right away. He took a look at it, helped me remove the clot, and helped me stop the bleeding. I felt really bad about disrupting his day off but he was incredibly sweet about it.
