On 4/24/26 Swan Pointe HOA brought 23 Residents to have dinner at Daniel's Little Mexico. This was probably the first time most of us had eaten there and we were really looking forward to it. I loved the Atmosphere and the brightly painted furniture in the restaurant. We were seated at about 6 tables right down the middle of the restaurant. We had 2 servers, Fernanda and Rafael. They were really good at taking our drink orders and then came back and began taking our food orders. I had a bit of trouble making up my mind but I decided to get an a La carte Grilled Chicken Quesadilla with a side of cheese dip for my Quesadilla and chips. My husband chose one of the Burritos. It was really large. It also came with shredded lettuce, salsa and tomatoes on the side and covered with cheese dip. It looked really good. Of course when you sit at the end of the tables, you don't really know what everybody ordered. I do know that half of the crowd took home boxes with leftovers. Every one that had margaritas really liked them and got a second one. One thing that's really great about going out to eat with 23 people is that you end up sitting with a new bunch of friends every week. We met a new resident, Donna this week and this was her first time to eat out with us. It's so nice meeting new people. Our servers were fantastic at getting the food out to the tables. The restaurant was really busy after a bit with carry out orders. But by the time we were ready to check out, the line had slowed down and we checked out quickly. My family visited on a weeknight. The restaurant's booths and tables were busy, but they had plenty of seating, so no wait. Chips and salsa are complimentary and I enjoyed the kick with the hotter version. Cheese dip and side of fresh guacamole were also good. I ordered off the ala carte menu - 3 chicken tacos in soft shell. They packed them with protein and toppings. I was so full! Friendly and attentive service. The music was a bit loud and lively - as in we had moments of thinking we were at a rave. Wouldn't hurt to turn down the volume just a smidge. Large private parking lot. We have several Mexican restaurants and I'd recommend this one. read more

Daniel's Little Mexico is seriously one of the "best of" Louisville and surrounding areas when it comes to Mexican cuisine. Food and service are always top notch. Meals come freshly prepared and bursting with flavor. This location is super nice, just like the two others currently. The menu packs so many delicious items so everyone can find something to suit their tastes regardless what they're looking for. I'm fairly certain the margaritas are epic here as well though I've yet to try one...maybe next time!! read more

I was saddened when Las Palmas closed. I loved Las Palmas and we visited three or four times a month, but I was interested in seeing what was going to replace it. It took quite a while, but Daniel's Little Mexico finally opened in January, so we visited the first weekend. We were greeted almost immediately after we sat down and brought the requisite chips and salsa. The interior had been completely re-done. The walls are now bright and colorful. The furniture is new, colorful, and entertaining. They've completely modified the front counter and bar area. In short, it received a complete makeover. Even the exterior got a fresh coat of paint and some updating. The place looks NICE! The menu is enormous. It's got all the familiar Mexican items in various combinations and a few specialties. My thing of late, the thing I judge a Mexican restaurant by, are the birria tacos. In the case of Daniel's those come in the form of quesabirria tacos. (birria tacos with cheese, to make them even more decadent). On my first visit I ordered the quesabirria tacos and *BOOM* I was sold. The accompanying consomme, accented with cilantro and onion, was perfect. On a subsequent visit I had the Chicken Nachos Don Juan. I'm not generally one for rice and black beans on nachos, being somewhat a nacho purest, but these were AMAZINGLY good! The staff at Daniel's is constantly on the move. Whether it's clearing table, taking orders, or getting drink refills, the staff hustles! While it's not normally the thing you talk about in a review, they also remodeled the bathrooms -- entirely. The bathrooms are now colorful and bright and, (if I may) fun! Very nicely decorated and themed to the restaurant perfectly. I know there's a certain novelty of "Hey, let's check out the new place!" when a new restaurant opens, but honestly, I don't see this fervor dying down. Smaller Mexican spot off Blakenbaker. Spacious parking lot on site. Was seated right away but there isn't a ton of seating on the inside so might have a wait on a weekend night during the prime time for dinner. Quick service throughout the night. Enjoyed the tacos and fajitas we had. read more

Place is much bigger inside than I anticipated and the menu is huge. 32oz draft beer served ice cold in chilled ceramic mugs. I had seen online about their margarita flights so of course I had to get one. It wasn't listed on the menu so I had to ask and thankfully I did, it did not disappoint. This was our first visit. Restaurant is small. It took a long time for a server to come to our table to take our drink order. Food was very good. I ordered the Carne Asada street tacos and a lime margarita. My husband ordered chicken fajita tacos and instead received steak tacos. Server replaced his entree with correct one but then didn't correct the bill which still showed the higher price for the steak tacos he did not order. We did enjoy our food and plan to return to the restaurant at another time. Hopefully we will get a less distracted server and have better service next time. read more

My friend and I came here for lunch and it was great! The salsa is good, and we also got queso to start and the queso is phenomenal. We couldn't stop eating it. I got the chicken taquitos and she got the chicken flautas. They were both good, the only thing I will say is the rice wasn't the best texturally, it was a little mushy. The service was some of the best I've ever received! It was so unbelievably quick but not in the kind of way that makes you feel rushed, if that makes sense. The prices were also super reasonable! This restaurant is very Tex-mex, Caucasian "mexican". The food is not well seasoned and greasy. We got a chicken quesadilla that was $16 that came with no sides and was small. Best Mexican restaurant in Louisville, no contest. We have gone 3 Fridays in a row now and it has blown us away each time. So flavorful, such good quality, amazing service, and great value. We got the steak fajitas for one (more than enough for 2!), a chicken taco salad, and my son got the kids pollo con arroz. The queso is the best I've ever had - also make sure you ask for the hot salsa (way better than the mild). Service is friendly, attentive, and quick. I'm not usually a big fan of Mexican food but I'd never eaten here before. The huge menu has something for just about everyone. We ordered the fresh guacamole as an appetizer, which was excellent, and a generous portion. The fajita beef was beautifully seasoned, and the portion generous enough to feed 2 or 3 people. The mushroom quesadilla would put any mushroom lover in heaven - LOTS of perfectly seasoned mushrooms, with just enough extras (tomatoes, sour cream, guac) to balance it. The sangria was strong, with less fruit than most other places offer, but good. The service was fast and friendly, and they easily accommodated a food allergy. Even the decor is friendly - the tables and chairs are all brightly painted with cheerful folk art. read more

It was perfectly seasoned (not overly salty like a lot of restaurants tend to be). The server was super nice and friendly and the service was very quick. I put in my order and in less than 5 minutes it was out to my table! Highly recommend this place for a great authentic Mexican meal. Great food. I checked out them out via Yelp and it had good reviews. I was not disappointed. The drinks were served with beautiful presentation and were really good. I got two street tacos and after eating the nachos I could only eat one there was so much meat on it. My friends all enjoyed their food too. Only complaint was (and this is just if we are being SUPER picky, not really an issue at all) my friend ordered the street corn and it just had mayo and cheese in it. No seasoning at all. Including but not limited to: waiting 20 minutes to order a water, another 20 minutes to order food, another 30 to receive your food, receiving the wrong food, sass from your waiter for mentioning that he brought you the wrong food, oh yeah and food poisoning for multiple members of your group. Full disclosure - I LOVED this restaurant up until very recently when they seem to have replaced their competent waitstaff, and it's all been downhill from there.
