    Mango margarita

The advertisement on the door said try new pineapple margaritas for $7.99 - however when ordered there was no pineapple bartender asked what other flavor ... when the bill came I was charged the regular price.. it was not my fault they were out of pineapple and that's what I had my tastebuds set on ... Liked it better when it was Ramiro's .. Salsa good lots of onions ...didn't order food .. Ambiance lively ...

Chicken chimichanga, rice, queso. Other plate is quesadilla fajita and refried beans.

Frankfort Avenue has lots of local choices, but The Yellow Cactus is top notch. Indoor and outdoor seating, nice bar indoors, excellent service. Large menu makes it hard to make a selection. Salsa is sub par, but entrees were excellent! Will visit again.

Really a disappointment. Really more like 1.5 stars, but I rounded up. Didn't check rating first since we were going to try to eat at the El Mundo patio but it was closed. The good news: - The staff is attentive. We were seated outside on an unseasonably warm February night. - The portions are generous. TONS of shredded chicken on my taco salad. Wish it actually had more lettuce. - Chicken tortilla soup is decent, but oily. - the ladies restroom was average, but still funky smelling. The bad news: - Not one, but two screwed up drink orders in a row. - Easily the worst, watered down margarita I've ever had. - The free tortilla chips had a weird chemically taste. - No soup containers to take to go. They gave me a foil container with a plastic lid that didn't seal in liquid. - Food was bland and chicken was dry and not shredded up very well. - After picking up our plates, we waited and waited for our check to arrive. Finally went inside to use the restroom and he asked if we were ready for our check. Ummm, yah. Then took his sweet time coming back with the card. Really no reason to ever go back.

Delicious margaritas & chorizo that isn't greasy! Was walking to a nearby store and noticed this place advertising their drink specials & decided to stop in, glad I did! We were seated immediately & received warm chips with salsa. I ordered the pineapple margarita and it was made with real pineapple. My husband & I split a huge burrito, it was large enough where both of us were full at the end. The chorizo on top was not greasy & made it delicious, one of the few chorizos I've ever liked. We came in at an awkward time (about 4) so it was a little quieter but by the time we left more guests were arriving. Would visit again!

Cozy place, great margaritas for the best price you'll find on Frankfort ave. Huge menu option, great salsa and fast service!

I don't understand the bad reviews. The food has always been excellent. The margaritas are delicious and strong. The carnitas are some of the best I've had in the states. The enchiladas are delicious as well as the queso and salsa. Definitely recommend this place

    Imitation crab

I just want to let people know that this restaurant lied straight to my face about something on the menu. I asked for a crab chimichanga and asked the owner and the server was it real crab or imitation? They said it was real when it came out, it was imitation you can tell the difference. I will never go there again and did not appreciate the way they handled it. Wonder if I was allergicto the imitation crab meat, then they would've been trouble, but thank God I just prefer real crab and would've paid for it.

I had been wanting to go for quite some time to try the Birria because I heard it is so amazing, and it really lived up to the Hype! Oh, did I mention they have the viral soft serve margaritas!?!?! I got the strawberry, it was so pretty, excellent presentation and absolutely delicious! I will say it was more like a dessert to me and I would have preferred to have it after my meal instead if before but that's just me. We got there between 6:30 and 7:00 and it was really busy, luckily our friends got there first and grabbed a table. They had already had a round of drinks while waiting on us but it took a while for anyone to come over to greet us or refill their drinks but again it was busy and everyone was helping everyone. We ended up splitting the birria platter and still had plenty of food to take home which we just ate last night as leftovers and were still absolutely fire!! I think the egg roll and quesadillas were my favorite over the tacos bc I love the melty cheese. I also ordered a small side of queso which was surprisingly a little spicy which I really enjoyed. They even surprised us when my BIL ordered a small margarita and it came out in a fish glass (see photo). It was so unexpected but also so cute at the same time ... it's really the little things like this that bring joy, okay? LOL This place was absolutely amazing and I can't wait to try it again.

The food is excellent, menu extensive with traditional Mexican food, a select assortment of Peruvian food during the week, with specials on the weekend. The decor was beautiful, traditional Mexican decor, a private dinning area for parties, booths were very comfortable. Next visit will be on a weekend so we can discover delicious Peruvian cuisine.

The waitress was friendly & attentive. I had ordered the Peruvian ribs and they were mediocre. There wasn't much flavor & just tasted a bit overcooked yet warm. The rice was delicious, loved it very much & the French fries seemed homemade & very crispy delicious!! My partner unfortunately didn't enjoy his Peruvian chicken & it was quite rubbery & flavorless. I had requested a spicy sauce on the side for my ribs & I was confused what I was eating it was homemade & yellow cream color yet it was just too spicy to even enjoy!! It seems like a wonderful place for Americanized Mexican food, so I'll need to come back to try that but as for Peruvian I'm quite disappointed:/
