We got the idea from a pizza shop in New York that successfully partnered with a shelter to help animals find homes, and it help many dogs get adopted. I clearly explained who I was and what animal shelter I was calling about and that our goal was to raise awareness about the dog population in Sumter, and our goal of getting dogs adopted. I said we would be supplying everything that would be needed in order to do this. When I described the idea, the man I spoke with responded, "Do you even know where you are and where are you from cause this is not NY?" in a very rude tone. Rather than simply declining the request, he spoke to me in a way that felt belittling and disrespectful. My family has been a customer of this restaurant and have regularly purchased their pizza. I understand that not every business is able or willing to participate in community initiatives, and that would have been perfectly fine. What disappointed me was the way I was treated during the conversation. Because of that experience, I will not be returning and supporting his business. I came here on a Thursday late afternoon and ordered a 14 inch pepperoni pizza to go. The wait staff was very friendly and informed me that the pizza would take 20 minutes. In the meantime I played pool in the side room. There are two pool tables there available to play on. They just take a few quarters for a game. A very fun way to pass the time! My waitress brought the pizza to the pool room directly and then took our payment. The pizza was delicious! It had ample cheese, with cheese on top of the pepperonis as well as beneath them. Definitely good if you prefer a cheesier pizza over a saucier one. Some nights there are live bands here, and there is karaoke one night a week as well. Red's is definitely a fun place if you're in the area. It seems to be the place to go on weekends for people who live nearby. Lots of friendly chatting and mingling and all around good vibes.
