I mean - WOW. This continues to be a top favorite lunch spot for my coworkers and I. Their sandwiches are to die for, period. All of their ingredients are fresh and quality. They have outstanding bread, meat, and cheese. I even get their kale salad which comes with goat cheese, fennel, beets, sunflower seeds, and you can add protein for an addititional cost (I get their pesto chicken salad - AMAZING). Another yummy menu item is their tomato bisque, it tastes so real and fresh every time. The staff here is friendly and on top of it too. There's seating all around since it's located inside the Sterling Food Hall. This is easily one of the yummiest places inside that food hall. Dare I say they have the best sandwiches there too? Located in a food hall, Danke competes with a lot of options and it is my favorite spot in the hall i I have had yet, as they have fantastic sandwiches. They are a small spot with a mini bar attached, and they have a wide variety of menu options, including beer. I got the Italian sandwich with fries and a side of pickles. The sandwich is generously filled with salami & cheese, and the house-made giardiniera really enhances it all! The baguette is freshly made in house and holds everything together nicely. The fries are handcut thinly and have a nice crispy exterior. The house made pickles are sliced thin and have a strong brine. The staff is friendly and the prices are fair. This shop is located in the Sterling Food Hall. There is metered street parking and commercial garages within a reasonable walking distance. The staff there is friendly and there is tons of seating available in the Food Hall's dining area. They serve deli style sandwiches, soups and charcuterie. I got a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. It took about 15 to 20 minutes for me to get my food. I thought that was a bit long. The sandwich was ok. It did not have as much cheese as other grilled cheese that I had. It also was not as flavorful as I was used to. The sandwich was not full and I was still hungry after eating it. I recently visited Danke for lunch in the Sterling Food Hall in Chicago's Loop. The Sterling Food Hall has many good food stalls and this one is one of the better ones. First, they have a great food stall. Unlike many of the food stalls, they have their bar and seating. It was nice to grab my food and be able to sit down right away without having to go search for a table. Second, the food is delicious. I was told by the staff that they make all their bread in house, brine their pork belly in house and get fresh and local meats and ingredients. I tried three sandwiches, the Italian, the secret sandwich and the inglorious batard. All do the sandwiches were good, but the inglorious batard was may favorite. The Italian was might brighter than other Italian sandwiches I've had. Third, the service is great. The staff was friendly and my food came out super fast. The menu is clearly visible and is the same as it is online. When I arrived the first time, it was before noon and I had no wait. Second time I went on a Friday at 12:15 and only one person in front of me. Both times, the employee who took my order was friendly and prompt. The food was prepared much faster than I'd expect. There are enough seats that it'd be easy to get a table and dine in. However, I took mine back to my desk. The bread is hearty and has a slight crispiness on the very outside but then dense and chewy and flavorful. All ingredients are top quality. The turkey shines and the cheese is flavorful enough to compliment the smokiness of the turkey without being overshadowed by it. The aioli is a lovely addition and is light enough to not overwhelm the rest of the flavors. It's about $6 for a big portion and it's filling. The Veg is the vegan sandwich option. It's about $10 and comes with a side, with salads among the choices. This has arugula, braised mushrooms, eggplant, cauliflower purée, sun dried tomatoes, and zucchini. Big sandwich and is a lot for the cost This seems like a good deal to be honest. I ordered the secret sandwich, which was decadent, and hit a spot I didn't realize I'd had. I was nervous about choosing the kale salad as a side (beets ain't my thing), but I loved every facet of it and almost didn't notice there had been any beets at all. The food hall and Danke's bar are lovely, which is not something I'd thought I'd be saying about the decor of a food hall. The lighting was not overly bright, with a subtle ambiance that was somehow calming despite how hectic a food court tends to be. Oddly, I would recommend this over even some more formal spots for late lunch/happy hour in the area. This is a fabulous and well crafted sandwich. Get a bag of chips to break up the bites and maybe even a beer. A deal of a sandwich for $11.50. Danke is located in the Revival Food Hall and they are one of the OGs at the food hall when it opened some years ago (still fairly new). I ordered online for pickup, which has been great and I think fairly new to Revival Food Hall as I just noticed it two weeks ago. Seating is so hard to find in the food hall because it is so busy! Food was ready on time and I headed back to the office (10-min walk). I ordered the Grilled Cheese (rated as one of the best grilled cheeses in Chicago) (RIP Fat Shallot who moved out of Revival, who also has a great grilled cheese), Roasted Tomato Soup, and Smoked Turkey. Hey don't judge, I was carb loading for my 10 mile run the next day with my running group haha. I've had both sandwiches before and they are still both excellent! The Grilled Cheese actually traveled decently well as the sourdough bread was still toasty (a little rough given the sourdough bread), but a little moist and totally expected given the 10-min walk. The cheese was still somewhat melted and the flavor is to die for! The Smoked Turkey was insanely fresh and full of flavor! I love their mustard aioli (dijon based)! The baguette is insanely good and I think it almost tastes like ciabatta bread just in a baguette. Arugula was fresh. The Roasted Tomato soup was ok to good as it was lukewarm so it didn't travel well. It was packed with flavor, but it had a small kick of spiciness! I didn't expect it to have a kick, but it was definitely noticeable. Overall, Danke is a great place to grab lunch! Good luck finding a seat at Revival as it's always packed (my luck is terrible and usually have to settle for standing room only) as there are so many great options! A decent sandwich option in the Loop that's hardy enough to be worth its moderate price-tag. After my recent falling out with Chipotle, I've been looking for new work lunch options, and a friend suggested Danke. I placed an order through Ritual for the Italian Sandwich ($9.95) and went to pick it up. Pickup process was very smooth--my sandwich was out in a bag on the counter and clearly labeled. Got in and out of there real quick. My biggest fear with lunch is that I'm going to get something and then find myself hungry again in two hours, but as soon as I opened the bag, I felt pretty confident I'd be good to go. The sandwich itself is very solid--a lot of meat and very hardy bread. It's on a baguette, and it's the type of bread that will cut you if you're not careful, the kind you really have to work to tear. Not the soft, airy Subway bread. Much crispier. I would say overall the sandwich is a good amount of food, flavorful, and not guilt-inducing. Didn't blow me away, but I walked out satisfied. Great option in Revival Food Hall for a picnic in the park I was just walking around the food hall trying to kill some time before the start of Millennium Park concerts at Pritzker Pavilion when I happened upon a wine tasting at Danke of Malbec. I love my Argentinian Malbec, so I was escatic when Danke told me about their picnic baskets that included this luscious wine!it included everything I needed, a snack, a bottle opener, plastic cups,and place setting. The simple picnic basket was only $15.99 which included a freshly baked baguette with either a smoked cheese or luck liver pate and bottle of wine - I need some wine anyway when I'm taking in a concert @ Millennium or Ravinia - might as well get a delicious accompaniment of duck pate w/ baguette. Danke serves some fancy looking sandwiches as well, so next time I'll complete out my picnic options. When I ordered the liver pate, the staff gave me a thumbs up (Apparently I chose wisely...). Very yummy, was a great accompaniment to my wine. Location wise, it's perfect for folks working in the loop as it's midway between the metra stations and the Millennium Park. read more

This place is okay. It was the place I was most looking forward too, so I'm a bit disappointed in my experience. The guy behind the counter was super friendly, and there was no line which was a huge plus. I bought a Pate de Campagne sandwich. It is pork "meatloaf" with fig mostarda, arugula, and pistachios on a baguette. It comes with no sides, and is $10.50. I added on a cup of house made dill pickles for $1. The meat itself was fine, but the sandwich was super dry. The mostarda was delicious, but so thick that it added nothing in the way of moisture, so it was almost like there was no condiments on it at all. There was nothing super flavorful or memorable about it, but it was perfectly fine, and I ate it. I'd be willing to give it another chance, but I'd definitely order something else or ask for extra condiments next time. read more

Nothing special about it otherwise. 2) Surprise sandwich I believe it was called... can't remember. It was a specialty sandwich with duck confit and a bunch of other meats that melted in your mouth. I did like this sandwich, which is the reason I'm giving 3 stars instead of 1. This felt like a high end sandwich..... Like a sandwich you would really want to try. Without knowing I was ordering a pickle sandwich, I ordered a side of pickles...so we really had pickles. The homemade pickles were pretty good...they remind me of Mediterranean pickles....very finely sliced, and really good. The prices are what you would expect of a high end sandwich / deli shop. I'd say the grilled cheese was overpriced for what it was, and they charged extra for the side cup of tomato soup...... Not worth it. I ordered the secret sandwich again by around 2:30pm. It was a lot better the first time. I think they slumped out o the pate and mustard. Nevertheless, still good. After lunch rush hour you have to wait at this sign at the bar to have your order taken. It is awkward as the Danke service(wo)men do their thing while you stand in front of a sign with some people eating at the bar. I'm willing to put up with it, but my expectations to spend so much for a sandwich is pretty high. I might end up going back to Pret A Manger. This is one of my favorite stands at Revival food hall. I keep bringing friends here for lunch who are always thrilled with their order. The sandwiches are amazing. The bread, the condiments, the cheese, the deli meat - these are not your typical deli sandwiches. The bread is glorious. It's the perfect baguette. It's crispy and fresh. The deli meat is incredible. I am a big fan of a prosciutto sandwich they have on their menu. It is wonderful. Everything looks and tastes like it was hand crafted specifically for you. They have happy hour specials. You can also have a glass of wine or beer with your meal. My only thing with Revival Food Hall is how busy it gets. This is the sidekick of Table, Donkey & Stick in the Logan Square space of a former Michelin rated super meaty-spot that was infamous. Here there seems to be a few good options for vegans/GF- needs although their charcuterie and wine menu always looks lovely. They are really the only spot in Revival that does wine and makes the kind of food you want to get without the fussiness of a restaurant. I got an amazing pickled blueberry and kale side salad and the best tomato soup of my life. Regardless of the super fresh ingredients, and really great and wine curation, I have to review on its undeniably horrible service as mentioned in other reviews. I've been here a few times both by myself and with others, and the service has always been cold, unfriendly and unwilling to pour any drop more than 1/8 of a stemless for a glass of wine. Today my unhappy hipster server poured my wine in a plastic cup I then asked for it in a glass as I sat at the bar and it was literally like 2 inches of wine in the glass and it was insulting. I asked if it was a regular pour and this dude with a face tattoo just nodded yes. Today was the last straw (stick, donkey, table, whatevs) -- I took my Mom here for lunch and she got a sandwich that sounded phenom - I asked her how it was, she said one side of the bread was rock solid. I didn't get that. I told her to speak up. The guy with the face tattoo did nothing but show apathy, then go speak to what looked to be a manager sitting off the side of the bar near us while I stared at them in awe of their rudeness basically laughing at whatever 'complaint' they thought we made. (She was sitting with a laptop towards the Smoque end of the bar ...noticed our issues/dissatisfaction and said/did nothing)... Previously remember a bad experience with a hipster server that didn't care -- potential diners BEWARE, this place has bad service that just really doesn't warrant spending money here because of the really bad attitudes, straight up. "It's all about the bread" While relatively new on the scene, Danke has already cemented itself as one of my favorite sandwich stops, in large part because the bread is just that good. Their baguette has a great crust, matched with a soft and chewy inside. It's got character to it, with a nice bite and a subtle honey and toasted almond flavor. I always go for the smoked turkey sandwich (10/10), which I think is even better if you toast it and let the cheese melt. Another winner is their duck liver mousse, which is creamier, richer and more flavorful than most I've had, but it needs to be that way to go side-by-side with the bread. read more
