This is the best place for breakfast in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I come here as often as I can.

Disappointing First Experience - Wilton Manors Location…read more I decided to try Bagels & Co. for the first time and arrived around 10:00 a.m. I placed my order and waited. After about 30 minutes, I started feeling a little impatient, but I stayed quiet and waited since the place was very busy and standing-room only. Eventually, I heard them call out "Brandon Brandon." My name is Brandon, and it appeared that the cashier may have accidentally entered my first name twice on the ticket. Assuming it was my order, I went up and said, "Brandon?" The employee responded, "No, it's Brandon Brandon." I calmly asked what was in the order to confirm whether it was mine. At that point, she loudly said, "Come on, dude, you would know if your name is Brandon Brandon," in a very condescending tone. The way it was said -- at the top of her lungs -- was extremely embarrassing, especially in a packed restaurant. The person speaking appeared to be the manager, which made the situation even more disappointing. After waiting 35 minutes for a simple bagel sandwich, they finally called out just "Brandon." I honestly felt hesitant to even walk up after being spoken to that way, but I did so just to get my food and leave. Everyone can have a busy morning, but there's no reason to speak to a customer like that -- especially when they're simply trying to confirm their order. Unfortunately, this first experience left a very negative impression

This isn't just a deli it's a…read moreliving memory of the great old family-run places, where recipes were sacred, handed down like heirlooms, and food wasn't just eaten... it was celebrated, debated, praised, and finished with reverence. The sandwiches arrive like legends overstuffed, unapologetic, and bursting with flavor. One bite and you're transported straight to your grandmother's kitchen, where the secret ingredient was always love... and yes, a generous whisper of schmaltz. This is the kind of place where the taste of grandmother's cooking triumphs over pretty furniture every time. Who needs chandeliers when the corned beef sings? And then, the matzo ball soup pure poetry in a bowl. Golden, comforting, restorative. It warms not just your body but something deeper, something older. One spoonful and you pause, the second makes you smile, and by the third you are quietly plotting your return. It doesn't just satisfy it calls you back, like a melody you didn't know you missed. The room itself feels like a well-loved novel soft around the edges, rich with character, inviting you to linger. No noise, no nonsense, no pretension. Just the gentle rhythm of conversation, the turning of newspaper pages, and the universal language of people enjoying honest food. The staff are not just servers they are stewards of tradition. Warm, attentive, and proud, they carry forward something increasingly rare: care without pretense, hospitality without script. And here is the truth this is not a place you visit just once. This is a place you return to, again and again. Because like a fine old wine, it reveals itself differently each time. One visit you fall in love with the soup, the next with the sandwich, and then with the feeling... the unmistakable sense that you've found something real. For those who appreciate old-fashioned, no-nonsense, deeply satisfying food give this place not one try, but many. Let it unfold slowly. Let it remind you what food used to be, and still can be. Tucked among louder, shinier distractions, NY Marina Deli stands quietly, confidently, and deliciously apart. And as they say, "Mit a bissel schmaltz un a sakh libe, ales schmeckt besser"with a little schmaltz and a lot of love, everything tastes better. Here, that isn't just a saying... it's the whole menu, the whole spirit, the whole joy. Josepienknagura@gmail.com

The cashier was so lovely, giving me compliments and just being so warm. The server was really sweet too. I got a bacon egg & cheese on an asiago bagel + a pistachio matcha for like $14? And it was goooood ya'll. I believe the bagel was homemade? It was so warm and had the perfect chew to fluff ratio. I also loved the library that they had, they have a donation box in case you wanted to take some books home. And I saw that they were going to have a thrift added there soon. I wish I lived closer, this would become my spot quickly!
