Small little shack location with good bagels. Very small take out location, no seating. This was perfect for our pick up and go order. Placed online and pickup was great. The other bagel place we tried did not open early on the weekend, so we tried this location. It is a very small shop with no bathrooms. But has all the bases covered on bagels and coffee. I thought the bagels were better than average, the toppings were great and make the sandwiches awesome. Great Service, and fast out the door. Great bagels in a tiny store without much ambience and OK service 5 star food: my partner was born and raised in Manhattan and knows his bagels. He gave them 2 thumbs up and so do I 4 star service: service was ok but slightly chaotic and slow. It's a very small store and I'm not sure they even have inside seating or outside for that matter. So for now think of it as a to-go restaurant. Variety was good enough, plenty of parking but can be tricky to get into/out of depending on the traffic on Andrews. They have a few soft drinks and other choices. We decided to uber eats some bagels from here. Overall, they had a good selection and the menu definitely extends beyond bagels and breakfast options and it's a good value. However, they didn't toast the bagels in the eggwich, and the option wasn't offered online. I'm not sure if it's different if you go in person. We'd driven by this little building recently and saw that they were no longer Subway, but now a bagel place. We made a note to come by in the future. There were two other people in addition to my husband in the small space in front of the counter. The four of us could barely fit and it wasn't easy "passing by" each other, either. There was one gal working and preparing the food and taking your money. We decided to just get a couple bagels to go. They had a larger selection of bagels than expected. I knew they were connected to Chesapeake Bagel (its on their street sign) and I'd read about this online. They call themselves a "satellite" branch. There is no printed menu -- just the one posted on the wall. Although the gal said there is one online. They offer bagels with a number of toppings. Their signature and deli sandwiches are not limited to bagels. You can choose other types of bread including a croissant, focaccia, whole wheat or a wrap. They even have some salads and a few pastries and desserts. We got a marble bagel (for him) and a sun-dried tomato one for me. We had them for breakfast the next morning. The marble bagel was much larger than the other one. My bagel was much better toasted than not. It was chewy inside. Good, but not my favorite. Of course, I ate it anyway (ha ha). I think I'd try a different kind of bagel next time. My husband also felt his marble bagel (toasted, too) was good, but not great. I'm so glad we tried them...Now we know what they offer should we opt to come back again. read more

This new store sells all the fresh New York Bagels and menu offerings as well as sub-sandwiches, and all our fresh baked goods that are available in any other Chesapeake Bagel Bakery location. This was my third or fourth visit to Capital Bagel and unfortunately it was the worst. Their bagels are great and prices are affordable for what you're getting. However, my gripe is with their service. The employees make no effort to greet customers who are entering or even waiting unless they plan on taking your order. I understand you're busy fulfilling orders but a simple "Hi, someone will be right with you" or "Welcome in, give us a few minutes and we'll take your order" could really go a long way. You feel ignored and like a burden when you enter. Once my order was finally taken I then waited almost 10 minutes for a toasted bagel and cream cheese. Seriously? It had been sitting at the bottom of the toaster for a few minutes and when the workers realized I was the only customer still waiting for food one of them goes, "what was her order again?" I have lived in this area for a while. Who remembers when this used to be Subway? This is a tiny little place. You order and are out quick. Well, I've wanted to try Capital Bagel since they opened. Today was that day. Don't get too excited, it was extremely underwhelming. When we walked in we were not greeted right away. No big deal tho, I don't think they heard us. We ordered an egg which with bacon and cheese, toasted, and a marble bagel with honey walnut cream cheese. The cream cheese was thin and lacked flavor. The bagels were also very underwhelming. There were two employees from what I could tell. Neither of them seemed very happy to be there. Our interactions were strictly business. No "hi, how are you" or "have a nice day". We were filling up our coffee (which is right in front of a door). Knowing we ordered coffee and would be standing there, one of the employees walked out and pushed her way past us. We had to stop what we were doing and move down so she could add some coffee lids. This is a one and done for us. Located on the corner of Andrews Ave and Commercial Blvd, is the repurposed location for what used to be an express version of Subway. The parking lot may mislead you to the actual size inside. 4-5 people will be a good maximum once you enter. And once inside, do not expect to sit, as there are no seats. Capital Bagel is designed for in-and-out service. The staff is kind, and will build your bagel to your liking. The menu advertises different types of bread, but standard that was were bagels. No problem. They make the food neat. There is minimal, if any, ingredient hangover. Your bagel will become sloppy as you ravage it. So eat it as if you will eat again. Not as if it will be your last meal. The prices are good for what you get on the bagel menu. And you do get what you pay for there. Capital Bagel does not skim on the main ingredients or toppings. You never want to pay more for less, even if you can afford it. If you want good breakfast or lunch food, take a ride, drive, walk, or jog to Capital Bagel.
