Sima pays such close attention to detail. I love how creative she is and every time I get my nails done it is a unique masterpiece. Not the most thorough manicure. I asked for a smoothing out of some jaggy nails and polish change manacure( as opposed to gel which I'm apparently allergic to) They cut my natural long nails ridiculously short, refused to soak off acetone or clean, instead they just spritzed with alcohol after rough filing the stumps ( ouch!) I never got lotion so my fingers are now dried out from acetone and alcohol. The cuticle above my thumb nail is now infected and the under cuticle under my nails is now exposed (she truly left stumps!)They have nice colors but a limited selection of mainly Essie and OPI. I really expected a more thorough and professional experience. I'd NEVER come back. At this point I really wish I just did them myself. My 7 yo daughter was with me and employees came in and 'handled' her hair without introducing themselves or asking if they could handle her hair. It was OUTRAGEOUSLY CREEPY. Update: 3 days later my nails are still too short to untie my shoelaces or crack open an egg. Why on earth would they clip them so short?? This is neither attractive nor functional. read more

I took niece here the other day and I got her toes painted and she love it to death. I wish you can see how happy she was and how priceless the day was for me. TERRIBLE. GAVE ME A PERMANENT SCAR ON MY LEG. The first time I went to them, they cut my leg and poured alcohol on it to "clean" it. It was extremely painful, and a MONTH later I still have a scar. I think the scar will be there forever. See the picture. I tried to give them another chance today. I had acrylics with gel polish on top. Pretty normal right? I came in asking for a gel polish change aka remove the gel I had on and get a new gel polish color. My acrylic nails were fine. I didn't need any shaping, trimming, filing, anything. Just needed the polish change. They put acetone, cotton balls, and foils on my nails but this DISSOLVED the acrylic nails! See the picture. Now I need to get a completely new set! I only had time for a quick polish change, but now I need a whole new set! They said the woman who was doing the polish change didn't know how to do a full set so I said the other lady had to do it, but she said no because she had an appointment. Well great, now I have to go somewhere else and pay for a whole new set. Thanks for NOTHING! Plus they are for some reason double the price of every other salon on Beverly. My stop yesterday was wow, Danny Vee added Teeth Whitening (in 25mins) to their service. AWESOME! It was an extra bonus to my visit. I know, we are in end of Auguest but with this crazy global warming, I don't think summer leaving us anytime soon. So from brunette to a blond I changed again. =) Got my hair cut to shoulder length last month (similar to Kim k cut), I continue to change my 2015 looks. This is THE BEST HAIR SALON EVER!!! I have been getting my hair done by Danny Vee for the last 6 years. I moved to the Palm Springs area about 2 1/2 years ago but I still drive all the way back to Bev. Hills to get my hair done here....yes, he is that good!! He does my cut, color, and highlights and has ALWAYS done the best job. I constantly get complimented on my hair. If you know what you like he can give you exactly what you want but if your also unsure he has the best eye for knowing the right cut and color for you. His assistant Ivy also gives the most amazing shampoo with washing thoroughly and giving you a nice head massage. I would absolutely recommend this salon to anyone who is looking for a permanent home in a hair dresser. I met Danny and he gave me an appointment time and I came back 30 minutes later to find him ready to cut my hair, very punctual!!! Anyways, down to business... he wisked around with his scissors, shampooed and conditioned my hair and rinsed it afterwards (PERFECT! cuz i always have hair everywhere after a cut) and gave me the best haircut ive had in years. The last time I was there was about 5 years ago. The changing "room" was more of a large closet. The staff was very friendly, but the owner, Danny Vee, who cut my hair, not so much. I took their first appointment of the day, which was at 9 am, but when I got there, the place was closed. I walked around for about 20 minutes, calling the place every five minutes to see if anyone was there yet. Finally, Danny Vee picked up the phone, sounding annoyed. For $125 I got an OK haircut, which took about 20 minutes. Then, even though, I kept telling him that I wanted my hair dried curly, he kept styling it in a way that looked like it was going to end up straight. I kept reminding him that I wanted it curly and he kept reassuring me that, "yes, yes, OK, it will be curly", but when he was done, my hair was so straight that it looked unnatural, like a wig. How disrespectful, to say nothing of incompetent. I will never go there again. At the local Supercuts, for about a fifth of the price, tip included, I get the same kind of haircut and there, unlike Danny Vee's, when I leave my hair looks good. read more

I don't love it at Danny Vee. Each time I've had the same woman give me a pedicure, and the same woman do my nails. Although they're sweet ladies, the gel polish always ends up peeling off in a matter of days. The woman who does my pedicure is honestly the sweetest but takes SO long it's unbearable. They have an excellent assortment of colors and Danny is in the salon, super conversational, and it's clear they want you to feel comfortable. However, a mani/pedi that's $60 before tip that lasts for 3-4 days is something I can't possibly budget for. read more

She quickly finished my pedicure without the massage portion - which is what I look forward to the most.
