These guys are great! I was in the neighborhood and called to see if they could squeeze me in for an inspection. The gentleman that answered the phone was professional and friendly and was able to get me in right away. I was close by but with the Columbia campus expansion I wasn't sure the easiest way to get to the shop, so was given perfect directions. When I arrived a few minutes later, sure enough my car was taken in right away. The waiting area was clean and comfortable. Ten minutes later my car was good to go. They even took the time to fix the light that kept erroneously indicating under inflated tires. It's always great to find a business that's well run, where you get friendly and professional service. I took my car for an appointment because there was smoke coming out of tail pipe and the car was puttering. at my appointment I was told my engine was shot and all I could do was donate the car and have it towed. on my way back up broadway I didn't think my car would make it so stopped at another garage on the way. they did an oil change. drove my car 40 minutes up the Henry Hudson. then it passed inspection!!! I came in to get my NYS safety inspection and the process couldn't have been smoother. I called earlier in the day to ask if I needed to make an appointment and George told me that I could come in that afternoon (though my car is new, so the inspection probably takes a lot less time than it would for an older car). If you drive an older car, I would recommend calling in advance (a day or two at least) to make an appointment as it sounds like they are quite busy. After I arrived, George was able to look at my car right away. The whole thing cost $10 (the price is fixed by the state) since I didn't need an emissions test, and I was on my way soon after. I will never understand why a new car needs a safety inspection, but I'm glad this is where I came to have it done. I would definitely come back if I have any car trouble and need a mechanic to look at it! read more

took my 2015 Infiniti qx60 in prestige condition with only 50k miles odometer reading there today for a NYS smog inspection. they raise my vehicle and look underneath it with flashlight to tell me to come look at an oil spot n my axel telling me that my axel needs to be replaced before passing my smog trying to extort me out of money on unneeded car repair service. I then took my car to 552 w 48th st between 10th and 11th Ave to a place called Manhattan auto repair inc. I was in and out in like 15 minute, no gimmicks no trickery and no games played there. my smog passed with flying color. now I will report Manhattan Allignment & diagnosis center for they're deceptive tactics in order to extort money out of unknowing customers. I'd advise you to stay far away from this place as possible and go to the place I suggested or your local dealership to get your car repairs and NYS inspection done. read more

This is a truthful and honest review. I brought in my 2016 Mini Cooper S Countryman for an alignment. I explained my problem to Nathan. He was upfront and honest about the work that needed to be done to fix my alignment. My alignment was fixed within 2 hours. I was comfortable with the price that he charged me. Mini Dealership would of charged way more for the work. I would not hesitate to come back. Update: My alignment is still straight after running over potholes in NYC. An honest mechanic and trustworthy auto shop is not easy to find. When I moved to Manhattan, one of my first mission was to find a good auto shop. Through my research, I found this place, so I went for my oil chance and NY inspection. From the first experience, I felt at ease. They were all courteous, super nice, and explained what I needed to know. The price is reasonable and I can trust that they do a good job. I have been coming here for about 3 years now, and even through I found an auto shop much closer to where I live, I still like to come here for all my car needs. It is now time for me to get new tires, and I wished if they also sell tires...and guess what, they do!!! I called them and asked for some tire options and pricing, and the guy (I assume was the brother of the owner) was very helpful. He told me which tires they currently have on their stock, and prices of each tires. He gave me his "thoughts" on each one, and although not provide a recommendation, since it really is up to the customers' preference and their budgets. I ended up getting 4 tires from them, and the tire itself was a good price, but installation and such were much higher than locations outside of Manhattan, naturally. I am happy with the service, and I can always count on them to do a good job. read more
