I went with my wife yesterday to Dannys Chinese kitchen for lunch.We ordered two lunches of boneless spare ribs chicken lo mein, two soups and a egg roll. Both the wonton and wonton egg drop soup were great as well as the crispy noodles that came with the soup.The egg roll was OK but rather pedestrian. The main dishes of chicken lo mein and the boneless spare ribs were both very good as was the included fried rice and the portions were rather large. The restaurant itself was clean and very airy and has several tables to eat at. I met the owner who was very friendly and accommodating.The price to value ratio here is about average for this type of restaurant. They have some nice options in regards to how you would like the dishes cooked, what sauces you would like, etc. I wished for some more heat on the food when I choose "Extra Spicy", however. The hot & sour soup is good as is the General Tso's chicken. The first thing you notice when you walk in is the cleanliness and the friendly staff. Very attentive and service oriented for a small takeout joint. I'll start by saying that I'm not really a fan of Chinese food. But, I was at a friends house and she was craving Chinese so I reluctantly agreed. We ordered delivery from Danny's and I was so pleasantly surprised! It tasted like most other Chinese food but it was nowhere near as greasy so you actually tasted the food, not just oil. Normally if I wrap a paper towel around an egg roll (my one Chinese weakness) it ends up soaked in grease. But when I picked up this egg roll only a few light spots of oil transferred. I have been wanting to try Danny's for a while and tonight was the first time I stopped in for a very small order. I ordered Vegetable Fried Rice (It was Lent and I was trying to adhere to no meat Fridays) and a large container of Hot & Sour soup. I should have checked the order before I left but arrived home a little while later. The order was filled incorrectly, Beef Fried Rice instead of Vegetable. I called, they couldn't verify the mistake as my order form was not available, but did offer to deliver the correct item. I declined and tossed the Beef Fried Rice in the trash. read more

WOW! This is how Chinese food should taste. I am very specific on how I want my Chinese food to taste and Danny nailed it to say the least. The beef and broccoli was absolutely delicious- you can tell the beef is real, quality beef. The sauce was perfect. Not too salty and so tasty. The egg rolls were the best I've ever had and the fried rice was everything fried rice should be. The wonton soup was also great. I can't say enough good things about this place. Try it at least once you won't be disappointed. I came all the way from Farmingdale to try it. My one regret is that now I won't be able to order every time I want Chinese. So awesome!!!! This is the best quality Chinese around town! The workers are friendly and are very professional on the phone and in person. The restaurant is the cleanest Chinese restaurant I've ever seen. Sincerely disappointed. We have been going here for awhile now. When they were new the food was fresh and really good. We switched from our go to spot to here.... tonight we ordered take out like normal. The prices were raised. The staff was not the same staff that we are used to seeing. The parking lot was empty upon arrival which is a drastic change as there is usually always people waiting to pick up their orders. Now to to food. Egg drop soup had more of a watery consistency. I had it a few weeks ago and it was what i remembered but tonight its changed. The meat inside the wontons was also different had a spiced taste to it. The wonton itself was hard and old looking. I had the general tsos chicken. Even though i now had to specify mild which is not normal it still had a different kick that before. The meal used to come with more broccoli and that was skimpy. My boyfriend got chicken and broccoli. Also severly disappointed. The fried rice has changed from a nice light texture to brown and greasy. I will be returning to my old spot read more

Great food. I always order take out from here. Ask for the house duck sauce and the house mustard. I've only had one thing here I wasn't happy with, which was the lo mein- just tasteless, no flavor. But it also wasn't greasy like most lo mein is, so that's not a bad thing. Delivery for take out is usually extremely quick. I do live within a mile of the restaurant, so that's a factor, but I do appreciate that even during the busy dinner hour I usually don't have to wait more than 25 minutes for my food. read more

We have been loyal customers of Denny's Chinese kitchen since they opened...never had any complaints until now our soup would always leak all over our food everything would be soggy , so i told the owner about it and all he said was sorry about that ( not carrying at all ) ok so we said let's ask them to pack our soup in a separate bag and they did but it still leaked all over so basically the soup tops are cheep....rice been soggy and there food and service is going down the drain...we have a lot of family members that stopped going because of there service and bad food....the owner needs to stop hovering over his employees and concentrating on making his customers happy. This place was really a nice surprise. I really want to give it 3.5 stars. I have been here twice now, and so far everything we have ordered was good to great. The egg rolls are awesome. There is not a lick of grease in them, which is impressive. The fried rice and lo mein were also really good. They are chocked full of ingredients, which I love. Delicious orange chicken and general tso chicken. They were really delicious. They give you the broccoli on the side of the chicken, so it is not soggy from being under the sauce. Now believe it or not, that was not a hit for some of the people I was eating dinner with, but I appreciated it. I had the meat dumplings which were the best dumplings I have had in a very long time. They were so delicate and the sauce that comes with them was amazing. I also ordered the moo shu and the mongolian beef. While these were not a hit with me, they were tasty. The ribs and boneless ribs were not your standard Chinese spareribs, they were both very tasty, but slightly fatty for me. Overall this is a solid restaurant for Chinese take out. I will be returning often. I can't wait to try their China Town style noodle soup. Just as a side note, they offer an interesting delivery method. You can actually order your food while on the LIRR and they will meet you at the station with your order when you get off the train in Merrick, Bellmore, and Wantagh. I tried this place recently based on a friend of a friend's recommendation and liked it so much that I called in another order last night and travelled from 3 towns away in the hail to try it again, passing at least 5 other Chinese places to get there. Glad I did so!!! This has to be the best take out on Long Island. The pastrami egg rolls are a novelty and are very tasty (brought one to my neighbor who couldn't thank me enough). The seafood spinach soup is delicious and loaded with shrimp, scallops and a little bit of lobster meat. The BBQ spare rib combination dinner was fantastic. I have been searching for good ribs and finally found them. While most places have skinny, overcooked ribs these are thick, juicy and loaded with flavor. The fried rice was so good it almost brought tears to my eyes. The steamed seafood dumplings are also worth trying. They are not the thick, doughy, chewy kind, rather they are flat with a delicate outer shell and a tasty filling. The sauce provided with them has a just a little kick and the taste makes your mouth water. The service was so fast, friendly and efficient that I can't wait to go back and get more.
