Three of us got takeout from here and we were able to be disappointed in multiple dishes in one sitting. Crab Rangoon, soggy. Scallion pancakes - burnt and very small portion. It looks like they picked some char off, but should have started over. General tso, soggy, zero heat, sauce needed salt. This is not general tso sauce... See next food. Sesame chicken. Same sauce as general tso. They added sesame seeds to this dish and peppers to the other. They are not the same dishes. Vegetable Fried rice. Wasn't fried at all. This was steamed rice tossed in oil. The vegetables were barely noticeable and looked like they used a bag of mixed vegetables from the supermarket and tossed them in. The rice was flavorless and of course had zero wok hei. Pork egg rolls, very small and hard to find any sort of meat. They should call this a cabbage roll. Spring roll, around the size of my pinky. Also poor filling. Great flavor. Tom yum soup: exciting flavor! Packs heat, sour notes, popping with flavor and 2 huge shrimp! Butterfly roll: yummy! Super spider roll: expertly rolled. Surprising pop of flavor (unlike some other places which are very dull) Also worth noting, ordered online. System said 90mim to get food. Phone rang immediately after that popped up to say that it would only be 45min. The young lady who answers the phone and called me back was extra polite and sweet. Very pleasant to deal with. Unlike other places that barely understand you and sound rude. If it wasn't for the food then I'd be tempted to do business with them just because of the customer service. They said 45 min. Meant food would be ready around 6:15. I showed up early. They handed me my bag at 6:16. I mean woah. To be that precise on the time estimates! In short. Soups and sushi are the best parts. While being quarantined, I figured I would support a local business. Been wanting to try the food here for a while, so it was time. Wasn't really sure what I wanted. After looking over the menu I decided to share wonton soup, an egg roll and moo shoo chicken with my mom. Soup was yummy. Wasn't traditional wonton soup as other veggies were included; spinach and bean sprouts. Broth was a little darker and wontons were smaller than usual. Either way it was super tasty and there 8 (possibly even more) wontons in a quart. I enjoyed the flavor a lot! Egg roll was decent. Wasn't as greasy as your typical egg roll. Flavor was there...just wish more pork was inside. Moo shoo chicken had excellent flavor! Wasn't greasy either. There was a lot of chicken, which is a rare occurrence when ordering this dish elsewhere. The wrappers were good too...they weren't as thin as most places, which is a huge plus! I'm such a fan of baby bok choy that I was excited to try Jin Fu Garden when I saw it on the menu. It was easily the highlight of $60+ in takeout, even if it was hard to accept a plate of steamed veggies was $12.50. The pepper beef and chicken with cashews were both ok, but was hard finding the meat. The lettuce wraps had a good flavor, but there was barely enough for an appy for 1, let alone 2. I can honestly report this wasn't just the worst won ton soup ever... it really didn't deserve to be called anything more than a mediocre dipping sauce. The won tons were not good, and to add insult to injury, what looked like home made fried noodles on pictures, was nothing more than the average bag from anywhere. It's our go to place when we crave American Chinese takeout food. Common dishes we order are egg foo young, wontons in chili oil and lo mein. I also like their garlic eggplant. Their egg foo young has the least grease we've had. Food also isn't laden with salt or sugar. In our last order, we tried the orange chicken. It was a pleasant surprise. There were actual pieces of dried orange peel in the dish, which gave the dish a mild aromatic flavor. This is a sit down restaurant and take out. My waitress, May was polite, fast and courteous as was Chen. May's husband, The Chef, prepares meals worthy of The Emperor of China. Really good local spot. It was my first time trying this place and I was really impressed. I enjoyed the egg rolls and the fried rice which are the two essentials for finding a good takeout spot. The Sesame Chicken and Beef with Broccoli were also very good and they come with a side of white or brown rice. Unfortunately they do not do dinner combination plates with fried rice, which was a bit of a bummer, but obviously not a deal breaker. The service is very warm and friendly. I would certainly recommend and look forward to trying new items. They also throw in some freebies when you spend a certain amount, but you may have to ask for it or present a coupon which is on the back of the take out menu. Jin Fu Garden's food was delicious! On a scale of 1-10 I'd give it a 10. Every single one of the people who go there they I know loved it too! The only thing that I absolutely hated was the service. There was only ONE waitress in the whole restaurant! My family and I got there at 6:15 PM, and the food did not come until 7:15. We said that if in a few minutes the food is not out here, we're asking for the check. FINALLY, it came out. My family and I discussed that this was the last time we were going there. So, if people have the patience to wait for an hour, that's great. I really am sure that MY family doesn't. read more
